It doesn’t get more embarrassing than this. Kansas State lost to an 0-3 Division 2 team that was missing their head coach. I do have to give credit to Fort Hays State, because they played an amazing game, but this is still flat out humiliating for Kansas State.
@Andy Gygi Ah Then that just makes it worse on K-State's end Fort Hays already has a disadvantage even at full power but missing 5 players AND their head coach? Kansas State might as well end their season.
@@pschighlights They beat Texas Tech, TCU and Kansas. It was in the West Virginia game that they dipped and they have lost 5 straight losing some games as bad as 45-0 and 69-31😂😂.
@@bigmacthelegend4100 am I a cold hearted bitch or does that seem like a weird thing to say? Like what if he follows a different religion? It's a nice sentiment but still seems odd
The big 12 is pretty strange sometimes when it comes to basketball. One year your team looks like a champion, the next your losing to a division 2 school
They're that way in football this year too. Oklahoma started off bad and ended up in the conference championship anyway. Kansas State lost to Arkansas State, the preceded to beat Oklahoma and went 4-1, just to lose 5 straight, one of those losses came from Baylor who has only beaten 2 schools. Ironically both of those wins game from being both Kansas and Kansas State. Iowa State got upset by Louisiana but also ended up in the conference championship game
@grodhagen Yeah, because the system is totally legit and fair with absolutely no foul play whatsoever. This was the most transparent election ever with no statistical improbabilities or video evidence. Our corporate overlords said so, so it has to be true. Biden is unquestionably the most popular candidate in history with 80 million votes, even with a weak campaign and embarrassingly dead rallies. You will love socialism.
A guy already commented on the hand shake where he was left hanging at 3:26. Bad sportsmanship, but they probably would have done the same thing if they had beaten Fort Hays thinking it was no big deal to beat a nobody. I love a good underdog win!
Everyone surprised that a D2 team beat a power five D1 team...The skill/athletic gap isn't nearly as wide as some may think esp for basketball and soccer programs and esp for the top tier D2 programs. Junior colleges and NAIA also have a lot of hidden talent.
I saw what I thought was lack of sportsmanship at 3:25 and watched it again. The defender #5 was looking up the court at that point. He wasn’t even looking at the guard. He was just ready to get the hell out of there.
@Andy Gygi Greenville is a small Division III college in southern Illinois. They run their offense very fast, usually only taking up a few seconds off the shot clock. Greenville also has a full court pressing defense.
You guys act like division 2 players don’t know how to play basketball. It don’t matter if it’s d 1, 2, 3, NAIA or whatever, every level got guys that can hoop
The win ties the all-time regular season series between the two schools at 3-3. Fort Hayes previously won in 1936 and 1938. Kansas St won in 1946, 1947, and 2009. source: www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/30481385/division-ii-fort-hays-state-stuns-kansas-state-two-key-members-coaching-staff
@@derrickames9687 more like 2 professional teams with players being paid millions of dollars on each team. Learn how football works buddy. Anyone can beat anyone
This could very easily be the worst P5 loss in history. The only one that comes close is Chaminade over Virginia. But with this game K-State never once led and FHSU was up by double digits the majority of the second half. Just overall entirely embarrassing
I agree. On a normal scenario, with media, fans and stuff, it would be the worst one. K-State lost at home. Vriginia at least lost on a season opener in Hawaii
northern state univ (dii) beat brown univ and had an overtime game with the arizona sun devils. some of you would be surprised with some of the dii teams.
On the bright side for KSU, it looks as if the 3-pointer at 2:40 should have only been a 2. The guy's left foot seemed to be on the line when he took the shot. So the loss wasn't as bad as everyone thought.
Class move with the K State player not congratulating the Fort Hays player at the end. Of course, that type of class is part of the reason they lost in the first place.
All it takes is 5 guys playing better than the other 5 guys on any given night. I went to KState, my Mom went to KU, Dad went to FHSU. I've been waiting for this to happen. Just wish that it would've been KU who lost to one of the State Schools. Lol
Fort Hayes state will keep the winning up if they keep shooting the ball like that. They were on fire. When it comes down to it basketball is basketball. A lot of guys in D2 could play D1 but there are only so many spots. The only difference is that guys were ranked higher in D1. That really doesn't mean anything at a certain point
Kansas State should play Greenville next. K-State should have no problem scoring 150 points vs. Greenville, who Illinois State scored 177 points against them last week.
I watched this game and am still indifferent about it. Went to Fort Hays for a couple years but am also a huge Wildcat fan. All I can say is I'm glad Coach Weber is finally gone. Don't follow FHSU as much as I should.
@@scottya2745 Yea I dont understand why people act like an FBS team losing to FCS team is so big. Both are D1 and the FCS champion is technically the D1 football champion for the NCAA
What happened? Went to the elite eight and now he's losing to D2 schools, wtf? As a Illini fan it's sad to see him go from so high to so low. (Talking about Bruce Weber K States head coach).
This hurt last night, I can say a million reasons why they lost but if you’re a P5 team even if you’re one of the worst you should manhandle D2 schools.
I liked the announcers comment with 1:52 left in the game and K state down by FOURTEEN POINTS, "May have to start fouling them the next time down." You think so? Not too early?
I honestly don't know what is more embarrassing: Getting blown out by a #16 seed as the best team in the country (Virginia was not just #1, but #1 #1), or this.
