There is an unusual interaction between Axial Conduit and Crown of Lucion, where Crown of Lucion's damage buff gets multiplied to Chain Lightning each time it returns to drain 6 mana, leading to exponential scaling per return. Therefore, the optimal way to play this build is to maintain only 1 active Chain Lightning to have the maximum number of returns within a single cast.
Occasionally, Chain Lightning drains more than 66 mana before expiring, leading to even higher damage. I cannot pinpoint the exact cause of why this happens. It happens sometimes when Chain Lightning destroys walls summoned by elites, and when bosses go into hiding temporarily.
A single cast of Chain Lightning can snapshot Overpower for the entire duration. Hence, I used Banished Lord's Talisman for permanent Overpower. Hydra is used to spend mana to build up Banished Lord's Talisman between Chain Lightning casts and to get 2 stacks of Conjuration Mastery. Blood Boiling Aspect is a weaker alternative, but this aspect is not working in pits due to a bug.
Hydra enchantment can be used instead of Firebolt enchantment, although I used Firebolt instead to guarantee all targets are burning.
Unfortunately, the new Aspect of the Dark Dance does not work correctly with Axial Conduit's Chain Lightning. Otherwise, that is another 80% multiplicative damage snapshot to the entire Chain Lightning duration.
Vyr's Mastery key passive extra Lightning arc damage may not be calculated correctly. It seems like there are always bugs with damage that's based on a percentage of original damage like Rogue's Victimize.
Overall, I feel that Chain Lightning Sorcerers will be quite weak and will struggle even at pit Tier 101 if the Axial Conduit and Crown of Lucion interaction is fixed. Greater Chain Lightning ramping damage cap should be removed, and Axial Conduit's mana drain should be reduced and also affected by resource cost reduction stat.
Lastly, I really wish that Omnipower will make a return in S5. I was hoping for a mana-stacking Lightning Sorcerer archetype with Axial Conduit but it didn't work out that way.
