Thanks for sharing this fine video! Does me lots of good as I used to own a HH D8H with 6 roller track frame and new 28” grousers, HYD SU blade, #25 or #29 CCU on back. It was the one that had “live power, or not powered through the transmission”. It handled the 18 yard LeTourno cable pull-scraper very nicely and made the big 6 cylinder just bark out loud when topping off the load in hard clay soil. Being able to leave the dozer blade on was handy for many reasons as you could still do blade work while hauling dirt. Also, having that weight up front was a blessing during a hard pull on the drawbar but somewhat of a curse when in a tight spot or when entering soft spots.
looks good and sounds super! nice engine swap! The D17000 was also installed in a LOT of 2-to-2.5 cu. yd. shovels and draglines between 1937 and the mid-1950's.
