Nice machine, great cab protection, quiet, blade is good for digging out stumps. The powershift makes it fast compared to a manual shift. Get a lot more work done. Likely burn more fuel though, and cost a lot more to o/h. Thanks for the video. 👍
Great job with a blade angled ,, but you what is a better method if you can find one that's a heavy duty rake to fit your C frame ,,an I don't mean pin on blade rake witch just adds extra weight on those front idelers,, it a old school way of clearing an not getting as much dirt in the process
He definitely can, over 45 years in a dozer. Excellent roadbuilder. He was just putting on a show clearing a little patch by my shop as fast as he could.
I hate to nitpick but why do people post videos of themselves doing something they know nothing about. Anytime you're backing up and you don't have your blade down back-dragging you're wasting time and fuel. And it must be a rental unit. Anybody slamming the gears and going from forward to reverse like he is doesn't care about the cost of maintenance on these beasts. Speed is not the goal, efficiency is. Learn the basics and get the fundamentals down, Speed will come later.
It's not a video of me running the machine, it's the guy who owns the machine, he's been running machines for 40+ years. On the other hand, I'm a mechanic for a Cat dealer and Caterpillar Powershift transmissions are designed to take those kind of directional shifts without problems.
