This is perfect in every way. I remember running home to catch rap city and hopefully hear this song. Almost makes me want to cry listening to in 2020. What a masterpiece.
I can't even describe what this track meant to me as a kid and especially what it means to me now as an adult but the video and song is surreal, classic, nostalgic, and timeless. Respect to Da Bush Babees.
My little brother learned about old school rap like this because of me. He passed away 3 years ago, yet I think of all the good times I shared with him because of music like this.
Oh shyt... I think I just got goose bumps and water filled eyes... Gawd I love this joint! I use to bump this in college at hip-hop parties in the 90's... headz would go banannas!
Harry McRae word i can't relate to new music! I dont even listen to it. But i guess it's how hip hop turned into early rap that the big daddy kane era people couldn't listen to our music.
In high school I played this cassette tape single all day and everyday in my Walkman. When music was pure and my only worries was passing my classes. I miss the 90's so much!!
this beat and track are ridiculouys. long live the golden age of hip hop. i thank god i was blessed enough to grow up in bk in the ninties, doin my thang. smokin blunts, hustlin, kickin it wit girls who wore old school jordans, graffiti, and stoop ball and sneakers over telephone wires
I miss these days. Hip hop was at its prime then. Tight work, tight lyrics, cool vibes...This song still sounds wicked even to this day...That's a sign of a true classic.
This beat by Salaam is so dreamy. 1995 was such a great year of hip hop and I was glad to have lived in that time and experienced the best of what the artform had to offer. Anytime I want to escape back to 95, I listen to this.
LOL 1) I never said saying ANYONE sounds like another person is disrespect. I said comparing this Bush Babees dude to Sean Paul is disrespect (based on the disparity of skill levels) 2) Who READS a dictionary? And then gets a 2nd one to read? LOL
So Smoode shit just goes over your tiny head there's an explanation for both questions. So what you're saying is Sean Paul has more skill? Cool in my opinion this guys singing is butter in comparison to Sean Paul's would be like butter with nails And razorblades in it. In other words he's fucking annoying. This track puts me in a state of mind Sean Paul will never put me in. As Kendrick said "my simple shit be more pivotal." Now that's a true mc to this day, there aren't really any great new wave hip hop vocalists... If you think Sean pauls one of then please refrain from speaking with me anymore. (I know I came at your throat but this industry and the people that support it piss me off.)
I was just telling a co-worker how tight the Hip Hop was back in the 90s. I am 31 going on 32 and I remember this being pumped at College parties and everyone would just be chilling and nodding their heads. Brings back so many memories. A very underrated group.
Yo!! I've been looking for this video for so long now! It's been years since I've seen it. It's amazing how just hearing a song can bring back so many memories. Who ever though of this RU-vid idea is an absolute genius!!
This has to be one one the slickest underrated hip hop singles. This song really embodies a really good time and era in music for me. I'll be rockin TIms when I'm 80 lol. Hip hop 4 life!
One of the best songs that i have heard by the way, by the life...along the time... Um dos melhores que já ouvi, durante o tempo e pela vida, continua o melhor!
Most criminally slept on group in Hip-Hop history! Gravity is still one of my all-time fave albums and this has to be one of the top 5 jams of all-time!
Yo this us that real hip hop not that ish that's flooding the box now. This takes me back to some good days gone past. Man I love that early 90's sound, REAL HIP HOP keep it alive, B!!!
90's forever my dude!!! Best 90's party ever: South Beach with Jazzy Jeff and Kenny Dope. I danced 4 1/2 hours straight. get at me. let me add to the list: brand nubian, cypress hill, onyx, wu-tang, Main source, akinyele, mobb deep, Biggie, c'mon yall add to the list...
Brings back memories... true hip hop right here! Miss those days..not one curse word or derogatory remark and they are still flowing over a tight beat... the days when rappers cared and uplifted the black community
