I love how when Dorian asks if you had an official concern about him and Bull it took you a few seconds to choose between 'I'm your friend' and 'I want to mock you' That. That is what true friendship is in DA
The best thing about Bull's lack fo discretion is that he is a trained spy who knows exactly how to be subtle but he doesn't because he wants to tease Dorian.

More so, shouldn't this mean that if Bull dies, he wont be there to save Dorian so he should technicaly have died in world states where Iron Bull is dead or/and did not romance Dorian? So in DA4 some people should have a dead Dorian. Or else this little piece of info makes no sense. Why make a big deal of Bull saving his life otherwise? So in DA4 Dorian is either dead, or with Iron Bull. Anything else should no longer be possible based on this information.
I wish there were a cutscene in which the inquisitor, after killing a high dragon, accidentally sees Dorian hooking up with Iron Bull and asks Cullen "Do you see this?"
And Cullen looks away and says "No". Imagine catching Dorian kissing Bull and the inquisitor is just watching them with a grin and like "Go on, go on" 😂 Or imagine a fire starting in some room and everyone goes there and finds Dorian and Bull in bed with the entire room on fire 😂😂😂😂

@@coco7disha I have one of my Inquisitors and Sera/Cole catching Dorian and Bull getting it on during their prank/helping sessions. Dorian nearly caused an avalanche for his screams and part of Skyhold is burning when these two caught them.
I wish you had also added the others talk about their relationship. Especially the Sera, Bull, and Dorian one. Sera: (laughs) Dorian: Something particularly funny Sera: You! And Bull! (laughs) Dorian: I'm glad it amuses you, but what I get out of my affairs is... my affair. Sera: I know what YOU get. It's like falling through a tree, into custard. "To high! Wham! To fast! Wham! Leaves! Wham! Splat!" Dorian: I'm not sure which is worse, the mockery, or the accuracy. Iron Bull: Eh. Depends on how much rest the tree's had.
UGH I already had to chose between iron bull/inquisitor and dorrian/inquistor but now i know if i chose either i miss out on iron bull/dorian :'( There needs to be a 4th option. Where we're just this trio of guys who slay dragons and snuggle without shirts. They made too many good charecters ahg!
@@iang8032 I love the Dorian romance, especially in Trespasser when the Inquisitors hand kept getting worse, he says 'Are you alright?' 'Let us know if it gets worse' 'Why didn't you tell me your hand was getting worse? I could of done.... something... anything!' and if you respond to him saying 'I love you Dorian, i'm glad we spent time together, no matter what happens next' he responds with 'I knew you'd break my heart you bloody bastard :'('
It’s how I feel about Mass Effect 3 and realizing that Garrus and Tali will romance each other if your Shepard doesn’t romance either of them. Best boy and best girl deserve each other
My only issue with this romance is how long it takes. I usually have to stand around for 3 or 5 hours in a location where running into enemies or NPCs is a none issue to get the whole conversation. I honestly LOVE this relationship and hope it continues in future games but it takes SO long to get that I wish the game would let the conversations happen more regularly.
This is where you do the shard and constellation quests. it gets you to move around and gives you something to do while you wait for the talking to start.
I know this is a year old, but because the more banter mod is out-of-date, here are two suggestions for this issue: party banter tweaks mod which is the updated version of the more banter mods with some additional changes or the cheat engine table for DAI has the ability to map a push-to-banter button
Dorian had some genuine concerns and reservations which he should have heeded. Tevinter has been warring with the Qun for nearly 200 years. It's unnatural for them to be together. Dorian questions this. He also is very concerned about Bull's sincerity since he is a spy. What I find hilarious though is his reaction to Bull's announcement of their coupling the night before, saying that discretion isn't one of Bull's strong points. That's quite a statement coming from him since discretion has never been one of his either. During his youth, he made it a point of screwing his way through every brothel he could, creating several scandals which saw him tossed out of some of the most prestigious academies in Tevinter. Once, when he'd gone on for quite a bit with the son of a magister, his father had hired some men to "bring" him home. Combat ensued, several men were killed right outside the magister's son's bedroom but both boys were so occupied with screwing each other, they didn't hear a thing. Eventually, Alexius found Dorian in a brothel following another incident and brought him home as his apprentice. There's a story there but sadly we'll most likely never hear the whole tale but discretion has never been a concern for Dorian as he himself states he enjoys being a pariah and shaming his family, particularly his father. But clearly this pairing with Bull gave him plenty of pause. How it began however was typical for him. He got so drunk at the tavern that Bull was able to just bring him back to his room and engage in sex with him, and bondage and domination ensued to the point where a very submissive Dorian just gave up and would keep going back for more. What I truly dislike about Bull is his lack of concern about anything. Propriety means nothing to him because he doesn't see people. He doesn't see Dorian as a lover, despite calling him Kadan. He's his latest toy that he enjoys playing with. All his talk about his feelings for Dorian are a game because if he remains loyal to the Qun, none of it changes. He still professes his love for Dorian but will turn on him in a heartbeat if ordered by the Vidassala. And yes, he can become loyal to the Inquisition and remain "faithful" to Dorian but there's still a dominant nature to their relationship and in my book, the potential is always there for him to one day turn on Dorian. The Iron Bull did crack at one point in the past while fighting in the Seheron. He submitted himself to the reeducators because he couldn't fight anymore. They did their job extremely well because Cole had stated Bull doesn't see people, only objects that need to be eliminated. It would be difficult for him to switch that on and off. He mostly likely is just playing a role (Hissrad does mean Liar after all) and just says what Dorian expects him to say to keep the masquerade going. I really hated this "relationship" because to me it always felt fake. Dorian definitely felt awkward about Bull's crude advances toward him, the whole "I would conquer you" thing and it did take him being totally pissed for their first encounter to even take place. I'd say Bull took advantage of the situation but I rather think Dorian allowed it because that's just his way. He's pretty damn self-destructive when it comes to men and sex and filled with a ton of self-loathing too. Bull fit him to a T but it's also a pretty bad pairing. And I don't buy for one second that Tevinter would be cool with the two of them nor would they just welcome Dorian as a magister after all he'd done in his youth there.
I’m actually kinda jealous of the romance between Dorian and Bull. It’s better than mi- my Inquisitor’s with Dorian. Sure we snuck a few kisses here and there. But this dialogue between Bull and Dorian show a growth from being a hook up to being something meaningful to both. I didn’t expect that.
.....damn I love their romance. They're so cute. And Bull is such a damn sap. And Dorian loves it. Man, I love this game so much. Also there's a dialog where Bull mentions he'll conquer Dorian xD. I think he says on the lines of "I can tear out your robes, and you'd hold onto my horns while I conquer you" real spicy stuff. Also, am I the only one who found the qun language a bit....hot...I dunno if it's the way she said it or what.
It took a week of me just walking around the Hinterlands right before I fought Corypheus to get that dialogue. I didn't even put a fourth person in the party so that they only had each other to talk to. I was so pissed. I got it though.
@@amberxv4777 correct. He overhears something Dorian is thinking, which triggers the conversation with Bull. Keep him in the party with Bull & Dorian until Bull mentions them hooking up the night before (I'm not 100% sure he's needed for the whole time or just for the initial thought, but I keep them together until the night before comment from Bull is said, just to be sure). Then that triggers conversations with each of them back in Skyhold. Their relationship is then locked in (unless you persue either of them I guess?). I've played through DAI about 10 times and that is the only way it's triggered for me.
@@ShaeSandybanks Nah, Cole isn't needed to trigger that romance. I never use Cole and somehow managed to get Bull and Dorian in my every playthrough. And IIRC talking to them in Skyhold after "About last night" banter also isn't needed for locking in and for Trespasser to recognize their romance.
Thank you for sharing the full extent of their relationship. I had no idea it would be so sweet, I’d heard negative things. Also I’m surprised something like this doesn’t have a place on the Keep imports for Dreadwolf. That, and Solas removing the vallaslin seem like they should be options among a few other things. That site needs an update.

I love how he's all talking about feelings and all that with Iron Bull but with a human or elf inquisitor, he's all "I don't know, let's talk about us later" as if desperately searching for a way out of the relationship.
It only sounds abusive if you take it out of context. Dorian isn't used to being open about a relationship, Iron Bull doesn't know how not to. I admit that Iron bull has a BDSM thing going on for him but like any sane practitioner of it he's a stickler for consent, safe-word included.
Wait, I don't get it. What part about this pair could be deemed abusive? The BDSM thing? Bull really does that kind of stuff right. Dorian being the way he is? Well...fact is, he IS from Tevinter and considering the views on homosexuality there, there are probably trust issues and past hurt feelings involved...and not just that. All things considered the relationship is beautiful.
There's a banter missing here where Bull makes a sex joke where after Dorian starts taunting Bull (again), Bull makes a visual comment about conquering Dorian (which goes a bit too far because anything the Qun conquers ends up brainwashed, dead, sold, etc.). Dorian is like "uhhhh... what?" soundly triggered by it, but Bull instantly retreats saying "oh oh, that's not.. where we are going?" And Dorian replies "NO, it was pretty much not!". After this, Bull doesn't make any comment on Dorian again until the next one where he says "So Dorian, about last night..." which means that in the end, Dorian and Bull had sex after drinking. Like, tumblr started saying that "he made a rape joke, HE MADE A RAPE JOKE HE IS ABUSIVE!" and that "BULL HAD SEX WITH A DRUNK MAN" and consent stuff, but in reality Bull never crossed a boundary with Dorian and he was always respectful (and to add, they were never drunk, but both did drink as Dorian says later in the video). If anything, I always thought Dorian to be far more pasive-agressive towards Bull than the other way around, because while Bull has doubts about his alliance to the Qun, Dorian is a proud Tevinter and as such he will pick on hi over his pride. Dorian isn't used to how open Bull is, while Bull doesn't know how to handle something serious or actually personal in his life. The tumblr DA fandom as always makes a shit ton of noise over rubbish while also being full of abusive/non con/bad-bdsm content, so... yeah, they are insane.

I happen to be lucky to be an elven Rogue who was going to pursue Sera, and I love Bull and Dorian so I got all three of them in the party. Good times :)
Some of this isn't romance specific, I've gotten quite a bit of this while I was currently involved with Dorian. So yes.... Bull flirts with him even when I'm standing three feet away -_-
It makes me sad that Iron Bull immediately talks about how sweet Dorian is and that he hopes they're good for each other. But Dorian is ashamed of it, regrets that anyone knows, and would rather keep Bull a secret. That kinda bums me out.
He's used to being scorned for wanting to be happy. I don't think it's shame about Bull, it's shame against himself. He's the same with the Inquisitor, but since the Inquisitor doesn't shout it out during normal conversation you don't really see it.
I'm downloading the game just so I can figure out what happens if you say "I want to mock you" it's a pretty serious topic, but if Dorian is willing to joke about ale I'm hoping that diologe choice comes off as banter. Sometimes it can be so hard to tell.
This right here is the reason I never romance Dorian or Bull. I just love them together way too much. My inquisitor is more than happy to travel Thedas with Thom helping the forgotten and the vulnerable as well as spreading chaos as a Red Jenny.
it triggers every twenty minutes or so, but is delayed every time you fight someone or do pretty much anything. however, for pc, there is a mod that triggers banter every fifteen minutes, no matter what is going on; if you're on the game, your party members will talk. otherwise, you'll hardly scrape the surface of the games content. it's weird, honestly. you'd think they'd want more banter in order to flex all of the work they put into this game. it really is incredible how much attention they paid to detail; there's not a single character who's black or white and there are so many possibilities, things you'll have no idea of until replaying the game and exhausting all options.
I always have Dorian and Bull in my party and I never get this on my play throughs it’s so annoying lol. It’s nice to see what it’s actually like cos I have tried!
Say what you want about Inquisition, but you can`t deny that the romance is at its best in this game. One thing that was lacking in the past two games was ONLY the Warden/Hawke and their lover got together, no one else. Hence why I love Multiple Warden fanfics (sue me).
Aww that’s the only thing I don’t like about making Cole more human. He ends up with Maryden instead of Krem 😢 I really love the head canon of Krem just slowly falling for her after watching her sing in the inquisition’s tavern 😊 so sweet.
Wow how did I *never* get this through all my playthroughs?! Do I have to keep them both in my parties long enough in order for their banter to reach a certain point?
It usually takes hours of just running around with them. There is a mod to make the party banter every 15 minutes or so that should help but these two are stubborn dicks at times.
It kind of makes me feel bad I didn't make a Qunari for Dorian for the character I romance him with. Oh well, my wee elf boy has the chops to satisfy him. I like to think I saved Dorian from Bull's atrocious anatomical proportions.
This is so great. I wonder, is there any other couple options? Since I’m always with Egg Man, and I like Dorian and Bull together. Is there any other possible romance pairings between the other members?
