I am an EFF voter...however, i am voting for Pappas to be the Premier of KZN...the guy is good...i do not care what people say....he has done more for abantu compared to the useless ANC!
You are a sell out.! KzN must be governed by EFF. Do u know what EFF premier would do. DA is only using this Young White to Front with him using advantage of hos spoken Zulu.... Dnt be fooled.
Good luck to you. Never forget though that he is still the same guy who was raised privilleged than you. He is more likely just as the rest of them to seek to protect the status quo. Lastly, I would say to you. If you want to vote for him (make no mistake you are not voting for him but for all of them) know that you will be posponing your childrens ECONOMIC FREEDOM by another ten years. The leopard never changes it's spots. Do you think he will do anything that will do away with their 'social cultural hegemony' and their 'economic dominance'? It is only black people who act like 'they live in a twilight world of swingers and wife swapping' when it comes voting. In the Western Cape people who look like him and those of the second rung and third rung citizens of South Africa, have never voted for a black candidate. The ANC at some point had Rasool as their provencial candidate. Then and only then 10% of the third rung citizens voted for the ANC. But people who look like Pappas don't vote for some one who looks like you. They didn't vote even for Mandela. I was there in 1994 elections. Our province the Western Cape was the only province that retained apartheid. And you can see the remnants of that even today. Your vote is your voice but it is also your pass to social and economic freedom.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 did you hear Pappas is harnessing that talent with the good ideas who were not listened to before #BetterTogether #SouthAfricaFirst
The way he articulated the daily harships of running a rural municipality was quite impressive. Having competent people at local level is important. I'm no longer giving my vote to these so called "liberation parties".
He is a communist so it's obvious you would... white South Africans will not come under the DA, the Zulus will do very well to remember this when we go to vote! It's white South Africans not the DA paying for this
We need to do more than wish him luck, we need to join him and assist in helping him achieve his goals for KZN. For too long now we have sat on the sidelines and watched as KZN decays further and further into decline. The youth needs to stand with Mr Pappas and make our voices heard, We will progress and we will be victorious.
@@renuhiralall6223 I think it's time to put aside race, sexuality, gender, political alliances, religion etc and instead of focusing on what makes us different to each other, we should focus on what things we face collectively as a country and tackle them head on. how long have we been fighting against the same issues, there needs to be a change and a rapid one at that.
It's a fight between good and evil. The evil people in the municipality will fight back. Stand strong Pappas. Don't let those evil basterts get you down.
From the ashes of mass abuse, anger, bloodshed and disillusionment, comes a real hope for South Africa, not just in the man himself, but in his clear vision and ability to convey sincerity. He is the catalyst for a new breed of leader, the seed for many others who will follow his example. Bravo, Chris, you've got my vote all the way to the top. Competence breeds competence.
Fingers crossed Pappas get the nod for Premier of KZN, its going to be amazing seeing KZN being returned to its former glory with all its municipalities functioning like they should!
@@riagoosen4489 Yep. Old people in the rural area don't know anything about Pappas. They don't even watch tv. They will just vote ANC till they die. Because they know it's better than apartheid for them.
@@farzana6676 shame, 😵 I pray somehow, by some miracle the truth will be made clear to them about the cancerous ANC party with no concern for the people 🛐
what a fresh breath of air!!This is the face of a new South Africa, no matter the colour of the skin.He is here to bring change the right way.I wish him all the best!
Let's see the DA bring change to white South Africa, if you believe we will be ruled by neoliberal DA you not thinking... It's seems DA is hellbent on waging a war on whites, a backlash is immenent as it promised reform in 2017 and gave us Steenhuizen instead
Ill vote for Chris Pappas even if he ran for president. Imagine if South Africa had this guy as our president. The country would be amazing! Happy for KZN!
I cannot understate the importance of people like Chris for our country. He is living proof that we can all work for each other to build the beautiful South Africa we deserve. Hard work, honesty and dedication. If your intentions are pure then it will inspire those around you.
@@farzana6676 correct and they are going to die soon from malnutrition and starvation the ANC has inflicted on them... their children are not that stupid
Chris Pappas is a picture of the what the future of this amazing country can be. I wish you good fortune and achievement going forward for the people Sir .
I was a bad student in school, but as an older man I wish I learned Afrikaans and Zulu. Being able to speak each others' languages would go a long way to helping us progress. Not too late to learn I guess!
with Chris he makes it sound possible and I believe it is. We are all Gods children we all shed the same blood and we are all African brothers and sisters. There will always be those who try to come between us we must stand up together and not allow it. Bless you
I've always said I would never vote for any party. It's just a waste of time but the DA has my vote next year all because of you Sir. How I wish uMsunduzi Municipality was as efficient but of course it's ANC led s...
What is unique is that Mayor Pappas has used his knowledge of zulu as a tool of cooperation. Politics is a vocation to a life of service, rather than a career with prospective financial gain, and I see this in Pappas. He has my vote
Oi Barack Obama I agree with, but Ramaswamy? No way Jose! That man is too Trump-like and Trump is racist, xenophobic and an asshole…we don’t want no Trumplicans in SA.
You are so right he is Son of the soil and he loves all of us. So refreshing to listen to him and not to parties being nasty and rude and ugly to each other. He just gave me hope he may have changed my mind about leave Kwazulu-natal xxxxxxx
We love papas and he should know that. I like how papas deliberately removed himself from being European to being south African and African. He is the son of the soil. I wish all white people who are still Europeans in South Africa, would understand what this mean. Today, papas doesn't think like them, he doesn't walk like them and he doesn't talk like them. The find him to be odd coz he is African and he acts like an African. It is much deeper than just having an south African ID card - it is much more to be african. You can never be African or south African without being one with the people. Papas can be the president of this country anytime and there would not be a single complaint from any south African. Coz we know the man lives in the belly of Africanism. It's kinda like a spiritual thing to be a son of the soil ☝🏾
You are wrong about Pappas. He does walk and talk like a white man. And he can also walk and talk like Zulu man. He is versatile and can adapt in whatever situation he is in.
@@farzana6676…he may be anything, because we are the Rainbow Nation, lets not forget. What is great about Pappas, is that he goes into every single one of his communities and listens to the people seriously and honestly. He doesn’t lie to them, but tries to make their lives better firstly in small ways and building up to the larger ways. He’s responsible and honest and he treats people with respect, like everyone is a human being worthy of a good life. I respect that. I look up to that. And I think he’s an example of great leadership that everyone can learn from.
You will shocked to knw most white people are very concerned about the black people thy are so extremely inshane fr apartheid you talked like whites because blacks think whites do not care thy care
watching the Comments here gives me hope that people can finally come together and get behind someone who does not just have their own interests at heart. I have tried so hard to get people to realize that just because you see a white skin it automatically means "Back to Apartheid". Not all whites want to see blacks as slaves. I for One (A White Afrikaans Male) See them (My black Neighbors) as Equals, Humans and peers who I can share their and my lived experience with. We all have some really basic Common ideals. I want Safety Security, A house, A Job, Health, Education and working Services that I may access my freedoms.
I am Zulu, born and bred in KZN. You are right, we all want the same things, and love our province and country. Our current problems are as follows: 1.Misunderstandings and mistrust given our past segregation 2. Bitterness from some people, who were badly affected in the past, and can't move on from that. 3. Opportunism and self-interest of many politicians, who would be nothing without their political jobs (not well educated or skilled). Pappas is a great candidate, that even us blacks would support, because all the above does not apply to him. We do have people like him (both black and white), but the problem is that they are generally not interested in politics. If the emphasis was put on building the country, and not politicking, they would be interested. Pappas appeals to everyone, because he is not a typical politician who wants power for the sake of power. He also relates to people as a human being, and not a white man. This comes very naturally to him because he grew up amongst black people and is also gay.
@@africaneagle7397 You make some interesting points. 1. There's still a lot of work to do to get past that I think. The youngsters are further removed I guess, and have less hang ups about the past I imagine. And hopefully they're growing up together on more easy ground. 2. Can't blame people for the bitterness, or struggle to move on, our history is not pretty 3. My thoughts on the opportunism is that for people who were kept down and had nothing, to suddenly have the keys to everything it might be a bit understandable as to why some folks in new positions of power might want to take advantage. Unfortunately it got out of control to the point where people in those positions of power have let absolute greed lead them. Not saying it's right, I just think it's kind of understandable to a degree, historically speaking (that might be an oversimplification, or completely ignorant, just my thoughts is all). From what I've seen of his interviews you're right in that he doesn't want power for the sake of power and speaks a lot of working for the people and being a public servant which is a positive sign "We do have people like him (both black and white), but the problem is that they are generally not interested in politics. If the emphasis was put on building the country, and not politicking, they would be interested." I listened to an interesting interview with Vusi Thembekwayo who would do well in politics I reckon, but has no interest which is a shame. Anyway, here's to KZN (born and raised!) turning a corner for the better!
He has. A dutch news network did a report where they followed him around for a while. He had to move house a few times as well as his family due to threats
I love Chris Pappas. He is so amazing. I live in Germany and I even heard about him while here. Please vote for this men. He is the future. He and his team, will make South Africa better.
Wow Wow. Refreshing, bubbling with intelligence and not once did I see Mr. Pappa's fingers in the cookie jar. Truly an inspiration and fountain of hope to all the people of our Rainbow Nation. May God's Angels be with you on your journey ahead.Thank you Sir. You are truly a man of integrity You are Godsend.
Good interview and excellent answers from this brilliant visionary. South Africa has such potential if only we could come together in unity with one goal - to uplift the people who have been suppressed and get rid of corruption, crime and poverty. We have so much wealth and such amazing people from all tribes, races, and political walks.
We pray for you Mr Pappas, stay strong, it's an up hill battle, but God will uplift you, will give you wisdom and strength. We need men like you. We ask Him to bless you abundantly with skilled, and righteous people to assist you. God be with you. We give you thanks for your diligence, hard work, leadership, and thank God for sending you, you are just what this province needs.
I can just hear my black brothers saying "iam not going to vote for a white person" when along they have been forsaken by their own...ya ne South Afrika
But what service delivery did they get from their compatriots? Forget about colour, lets all stand together, hold 🖐️ and work on a better South Africa!
Chris reminds me of Bongani Baloyi who also turned around Midvaal Municipality. SA needs young politicians who are in-touch with the people at grassroots level. KZN deserves him now more then ever
The biggest threat to the anc is how he has exposed the local governments lack of will to assist people with basic services and expose incompetence at all levels of the anc government from local to the very top.. Sadly the anc in kzn will be after this man . I pray he is protected for doing such amazing work in his municipality with proper care, support and competence at the highest level!!..
