Here I am, after more than 10 years... I gotta confess I'm not even a huge Daath fan, but this song in particular changed the way my teenage self played electric guitar.
I come back here every now and again, I just happened upon this as a teenager after I first started playing guitar. Pops into my head every now and again and I've realized that it's never going away. It's the only Daath song that even like tbh.
100%, the rolling riff or whatever the fuck you call it when you're going up and down the last two strings, i stole that from this song from that verse riff lol
Man, it's been over 10 years since I first watched this. I kind of played guitar at the time. I messed around with it a bit, learned some Metallica riffs, but never dedicated myself to playing. This video is what got me to start taking it seriously. I kind of fell out of playing at around 18. I never fully put it down, but sometimes I'd go months without jamming. I picked it up and began to play regularly again over the past year or so. Man I've missed it. I still need to learn this song though...
Wel..., Emil has a bit more on the ball than "most" of this style of player out there. He has a pretty complex understanding of theory and harmony. I don't think he's doing this style much currently either.
never get tired of hearing this amazing dual guitars written part a 2:29 . Seriously if you check my channel I can write and record good songs myself but this just too good and then the solos and the double bass kicks in at 2:47 (well at least on the record( .. haha *metal sign*
@@DAATHOFFICIAL it was during a pivotal point in life where I decided that doing things like going to college and pretending to like team sports was not for me. This was during a time where you find a good performance on RU-vid, you listened to it over and over. It introduced me to Daath which progressed into an addition to the music that led me to many other findings, which includes NTM, and Colin Richardson which continues the trend that just keeps on adding to my identity. Point being; I don’t know if I would be at the same spot if it weren’t for this video. Hopefully that wasn’t too incoherent
what i like about this is the awesoem harmonies and the fact that they are SO in time with eachother. thats really fucking impressive with no rhythm section
Never checked these guys out before, but man they lock in with each other and it's fantastic! Really interesting progressions and harmonies. Impressed!
i cannot find this song ANYWHERE on youtube to save my life. ugh. the guitar sounds so sexy. im gonna have to buy this CD hopefully it wont be as hard to find as the song itself
My guitar heroes back in 08' .. this video was my education into spider riffs ... Still making music with the things I learned from these guys back then ..
Holy shit, I was acquainted with Emil back during high school days. I asked a mutual friend what happened to him, and he said "shit dude he's in Daath, look 'em up." I had no idea. He's gotten good. Like Bill&Ted good. Makes me proud.
that was pretty badass! i have heard of this band and have never listened to them. this is the first time ive heard their music. they didn't leave a bad impression on me.
it's not only about what guitar you're using...it's about how you use it. I have a really cheap harley benton but it sounds great when you use it properly
yeah, no doubt! I honestly think that Emil Werstler is like, Paul Gilbert/Steve Via talented, plus he has some really awesome Blues influence that really shines in his solos from a number of tracks on "The concealers"
