I feel like there should be at least 3 reasons Mustang would dominate this fight. 1. On an offensive level, Dabi's quirk still requires energy, meanwhile alchemy might be mentally taxing, but i don't feel like Mustang can get tired of snapping 2. On a defensive level, Dabi might have a new ice quirk, but he still has to take damage from his own fire. Mustang on the other hand, isn't actually a fire alchemist, he's an air alchemist. We never see him do it but i bet he could remove or disperse any flamable air bits near him considering that's just the opposite of what he normally does. And 3. Unlike Dabi, Mustang stays strapped. Yeah, remember guns? Probably the thing that did the most damage to shiggy back in the day that no one else carries for some reason? What's Dabi gonna do against gun

Imma be real Mustang is basically bakugo but with more range as he can trigger explosions anywhere And Imma give a really dumb biased opinion but I think that they should've never made two fire based deuteragonists in MHA (Bakugo and Todoroki) instead make it one and show us the explosion power of flames like they did in FMA To make it easy to differentiate, they made one boomy and one swishy in visuals, and they even made it so Bakugo's explosives aren't fire inducing in nature
One thing you didnt bring up that i feel would be a major factor is energy. Dabi expends a lot of his energy to use his flames. While he does have an ungodly amount of energy to use, it is still a finite resource. Mustang however seems to expend little to no energy. He seems equally fine creating massive fireballs as he does lighting papers on fire. The most drain we ever see mustang in is him being out of breath. So that means Dabi would exhaust himself MUCH faster than Mustang would. However, to be completely honest I dont think mustangs flames would even hurt Dabi. We gotta remember everyone in Dabi's family (from his dads side) has a degree of built in flame resistance. Thats why Dabis flames are so impressive, theyre not just extremely hot but they overcome flame res. MAYBE mustangs explosions might be able to push him around, but I dont see a universe in which mustang can actually burn him. What he CAN do however is redirect Dabi's flames back at Dabi. And, well, we all know how well dabi can handle his own flames. It all comes down to speed, and Im not familiar enough with either verses speed feats
@@zacharygurney3402 yea I kinda brushed over it when I said in terms of endurance it’s no question that mustang wins and I didn’t really discuss it cuz I felt like that was obvious. That’s also why I said Dabi would need to end the fight quickly. But no Dabi has little if any fire resistance at all. The fire resistance comes from endeavors side and Dabi never got that part of the quirk, he only inherited endeavors flames. Even if we assume for the sake of the argument that Dabi is completely immune to flames, I think he still loses. Mustangs snaps have been shown to have concussive force, so even if Dabi is fire resistant that doesn’t make him explosion resistant. If mustang creates an explosion on Dabis eyes, they’re either gonna pop or melt I don’t see any universe where nothing happens.
@@XRDICE I went back and forth a lot on who would actually win this but at the end of the day dabi doesn’t have much fire resistance (he has his mothers body) and mustang creates really powerful bursts. It’s easy to forget we usually see mustang fighting homunculi who are far more resistant than humans. If mustang makes an explosion on Dabis eye’s I don’t see how anything could happen other than dabi immediately going blind. I do think the win split is like 60/40 or 55/45 tho cuz Dabis ability to set everything on fire is insane
@@OsamaKennedy-np9gm I understand what he’s saying but the point he’s trying to make is wrong. Shoto isn’t resistant to fire cuz he can make ice. He’s resistant to fire cuz he inherited that from endeavor (otherwise why is endeavor immune to fire?) his ability to create ice is important because it allows him to regulate his internal body temperature. The fire resistance they have protects them from being burned but doesn’t protect their organs from overheating. Todoroki making ice allows him to stop his organs from failing cuz of the heat. Dabi has little to no fire resistance, unlike shoto who picked up both the powers and resistances from both his parents, Dabi only got his mother’s resistance, not his father’s. So he is still susceptible to heat. Even if he’s not mustang is making explosions and fire resistance won’t protect you from that
@kyphxr In the manga, dabi has ice powers too, and that is why he has shown the same ability as Shoto (phosphor). Phosphor basically absorbs all thermal energy, so with that, he could easily cut out Mustangs combustion abilities, so no eyeball explosions

@kyphxr Well, depending on your knowledge on comics, let's go with DC Canon Superman, basically the one that had been accumulated together by doc Manhattan (a part of which is post crisis) and I've heard that Wukong is like crazy strong and has some meta fictional feats as well, a lot like superman so it would be fun to watch
