Had mine a month now 1500 miles and if you use the B mode correctly to slow down , you can get far more MPG. I am mainly A roads and Motorway on my commute to work, 44 miles a day and i am getting 66MPG

Thank you. Very interesting. Are Euro NCAP scores now much too heavily biased towards active rather than passive safely? Most cars on the road still don't have collision avoidance systems and still collide from time to time. Passive safety still seems relevant, surely?
@misterGeekerdotcom
@misterGeekerdotcom Год назад
NCAP stands for New Car Assessment Programs. Most of the new cars equipped with activate collision prevention and good passive safety features. NCAP's rating has been reflecting Dacia's lack of active safety features as a new car. So imo it is relevant and the Dacia does deserve lower score than the other better equipped cars.

It's so strange that there is no factory LPG version in UK since that version makes almost 90% of all Dacia sales across EU countries.
@badbusdriver7160
@badbusdriver7160 Год назад
In the UK, retailers of LPG have all but dried up and demand for LPG fuelled cars is absolutely minuscule. So there is no business case for Dacia to sell an LPG fuelled Jogger here.
@zuti071

@@badbusdriver7160 Such a shame since i was sure that UK still has good LPG infrastucture. Usually CNG is problematic in many countries but in general i think there is still good savings in those alternative fuels rather than this kind of expensive hybrids.

LPG is dying. Shell are decommissioning *all* their LPG assets in the UK, and many other independent LPG outlets have either gone, or are winding down.
@rob12841
@rob12841 6 месяцев назад
Yet they are churning out LPG dusters and sanderos. It's more location based, if you're in certain parts of the southeast or Birmingham youre pretty sorted. I live near a few retailers and 14500k of the 15k I've covered has been on cheap LPG. It's dying because unlike the most of savvy Europe the government don't want or educate on it. Funny because they were giving grants for conversions, then they decided diesel was best. Now it's electric! LPG hybrid was the way forward in my opinion.@@badbusdriver7160

If NCAP tested this vehicle to pre 2017 test it would have received 4*. The 2015 CMF-B LS platform was designed for low cost global manufacturing and will underpin all Dacia models (except Spring) by 2025, so NCAP will continue to eschew the results because of lack of safety electronics.

I was very tempted for a while to buy a Jogger hybrid and even went to a few dealerships for offers and test drive. I finally couldn't go past the 25.000 EUR price and the fact that the consumption is quite higher in real life than on paper. I opted for a 9 year old Espace 4 2.0 dci and I'm not regreting my choice. For a third of the price I have bigger interior space and lower running costs than the Jogger Hybrid.

So what's your plan for when petrol and diesel becomes harder to find? I mention this as Shell have said they plan to cut the production of petrol and diesel by 40% on the lead up to 2030. Details are in Shell's last business report..... You could of course just switch to Aspen synthetic petrol, as that's been on sale in the UK for decades. It does cost around £30 per gallon though...... Still, you've got a few years to decide what you want to do...... Personally, I went electric 3 years ago. I've saved around £6k in that time by no longer buying petrol. It costs me around £6 a week to charge my car up at home. I can cover 1000 miles of town and commuting driving for well under £40 if I stick with home charging - which I do 90% of the time. My local Sainsburys offers free charging too......

Another Dacia with an appalling NCAP safety rating. NCAP deliberately choose the lowest spec car to test for the sensible reason that safety should be the default, not something you buy. So regardless of what a Jogger might have on higher spec, the reality is safety sucks by default.
@badbusdriver7160
@badbusdriver7160 Год назад
This is only the case if you think the car should bear the responsibility of driving for you. As was pointed out in the video, the reason the Jogger scores so poorly is because it is not festooned with all the latest driver aids (meaning a driver who has only half their attention on the road and the other half on their smartphone should be fine). The path Dacia have chosen, that is to say not jumping on the NCAP merry-go-round, is to reduce the cost of the car, and their popularity shows that there are plenty out their who are quite happy with that compromise. Those who aren't, are free to spend an extra £10k on some other 7 seat family car with all the NCAP bells and whistles. And just to be clear, the Jogger, while not brilliant, performs adequately in an actual crash.

This just looks staggeringly awful to me! As mentioned in the review, people will pitch this against a second hand car. I drive a luxurious E Class Mercedes estate that is now six years old with a 2 litre diesel engine. I easily get 55mpg on this test run style driving and have had 70mpg on a run. Dacia is worse on the test. It will do 105mph effortlessly at 2,000 revs and is great to drive with superb handling. Dacia crap. It is plush and has a lovely expensive feel. Dacia is cheap and plastic. Boot is probably bigger in my merc. I do not have 7 seats but the back row are awful. My co2 figure is lower than the Dacia. car tax is £35 My NCAP is the best car they have tested and it is full of safety features. It cost £18k a year ago, after three years I may lose £3k in depreciation. The Dacia will drop £10k at least. Why on earth would you buy the Dacia? Seems an expensive way to do lots of things badly and to drive a cheap heap of crap.

Too right, Mercedes are nowhere near the quality at their peak in the late 1980s. The last decent E was the W124. The 210 and 211 that followed were appalling, rust, turbo failures, broken springs engine management issues, rubbish interior trim....I know because I had all those models. Since that blip Merc have been spot on with quality. I had a C class that did 100k and one thing wore out in that time - a £30 ball joint.
