Oh, well MOA was exactly 20yrs old there, since that show was celebrating her 20th birthday, that's why she got the mic for Headbanger. This has occurred before for both MOA and YUI. Though MOA is "scream and dance" she definitely can sing 😊. As many others pointed out, BABYMETAL are all about live shows, and even the crowd is actively participating, like in this case 😁. About sustained notes, SU closed their 2021 BUDOKAN concerts with Road of Resistance, the final "Resistance" was about 13 seconds long. After more than an hour of singing and dancing on stage. Uh, fun fact about HEADBANGER, Metallica shoot a series of spots for Brioni few years ago, in the one with Rob the director asks him if he could try headbanging side to side, cause "it would look more modern, you know, like Babes would really like to do". Very young BABYMETAL had a chance to watch a Metallica show from backstage, years later they were their support band for their Asian tour, so yeah, that was definitely referring to them 😂. 🤘🦊⚡️
Tip: Babymetal has a seriously hardcore fanbase and reacting to them will drive views to your channel (those Japanese fandoms are very dedicated), especially because their latest studio album in four years just dropped. From a 'Western' perspective, Road of Resistance live in Japan (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zTEYUFgLveY.html) is the one which converted me (old school metalhead) from, 'yeah, this is kinda interesting' to, 'okay, that was fantastic, also I HAVE to go to one of their live shows because their crowd interaction / control is second to none I've seen (I'd say on par or possibly even better than Rammstein)' - so I now have tickets for their next tour. With Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjjWZpf_jSs.html) being another good option in terms of getting your head around what their thing is. In terms of non-live stuff, I'd say Karate is their best music video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GvD3CHA48pA.html) They are absolutely a divisive group amongst western metalheads, people either love them or hate them. However (not that band opinions should necessarily sway people) but a few gems I've come across: "They roll harder than you" - Rob Zombie "How can you not be entertained watching that?" - Korn "We saw them in 2013 at a festival, and we were astounded by their awesomeness" - Metallica They've performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Rob Halford, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers. So... regardless of what some metal fans think, they've won hearts and minds amongst the metal community (when they were touring with the Chili Peppers, Chad Kroeger made a point of bringing a birthday cake out on stage for the lead singer's birthday).
Great reaction. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday. 15 is a significant age in Japan as it marks the end of compulsory education, so the girl is also realising life will never be the same as she is no longer a child, she is now taking her first big step toward adulthood and her first 15 years passed by so quickly, so she is etching this special night of her 15th onto her heart so she will never forget. On very special occasions at shows in 2014 on or near their own 15th birthdays half way through the song lead vocalist Su handed the mic and stand to Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) and they took over lead vocals for the rest of the song while Su took their place in the choreo. This video (or most of it) was from the Legend M concert in 2019 where once again Su handed the mic and stand to Moa, this time on her 20th birthday - 20 being the official coming of age in Japan (although that is changing to 18) with a change of lyric to "... this special night of my 20...". You are unlikely to find videos with subtitles for most of their songs - don't worry if that is the case, watch the choreo and it may help, just enjoy the sound of the music and vocals (they will make you feel the appropriate emotions anyway) ... as Su-metal once said "Don't think. Feel." .... and we will explain what the song was about for you in the comments afterwards.
you are definatly raising her right. Her reaction there with "simp" was brutal. All he needs is to grow a little bit more confidence and she is destined to live a happy life.
I'm too old to remember or care what a simp is. So I'll just take it a a compliment. 🙂 Its funny that you found Moabanger. This is a one time performance. I will suggest 'Catch Me if You Can' next. Specifically the one at Budokan. It's heavy and fun. Plus you get a much better look at the band.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Don't worry. I am happy to be called "simp" as far as BABYMETAL is concerned. I am 67-yo retired man and already did that "Dogeza" (kneel and bow until my forehead touches the floor) twice January this year. I want to do it more from now on, too. We never see people doing it happily and smilingly in other place than BM concerts. As other viewers explained below, this is a special version to celebrate Moametal's 20th birthday. Devilish evil smirk on the archangel's face ! Headbanger by Moa reminds me that Lucifer is a fallen angel 🤔 In Legend-M, "Moabanger" was the 12th song in the setlist. Moa sang it in a stable manner without getting short of breath even after exhausting dancing for 11 songs + the first part of Headbanger until Su handed the mic to Moa. Only a huge amount of exercise as an athlete enables a girl to get such a big cardio capacity on top of training as a dancer. Her arms look dainty but I saw several photos showing her biceps brachii and brachioradialis in good shape that I admire as a workout lover 😄 。 She is another monster. No, lovely Moa-nstar.
The studio "Headbanger" MV was made when Su was 14 and Yui and Moa were 12. THE "Headbanger" live video is from 2013, at the Legend of 1997 concert is the one to watch. One for your list - "Karate" live at the Download music festival in England.
There will be a US tour from the end of August to the middle of October, although some of the shows are already sold out. During this period, BABMETAL will also participate in festivals in the US. I would love for you and your daughter to go to a BABMETAL concert. From Japan🦊
Great reaction! This is a VERY special performance of "Headbanger!". Moa has only taken over the lead on this song one other time. I love it when parents and their kids react to BABYMETAL songs! By the way, it's very common for parents and their kids to attend BABYMETAL concerts together which is why their shows usually have a very low age limit. In Japan I've seen it as low as 3 years old. They will be touring the USA later this year, and I plan to see them when they come to Northern California in October!🤘🦊🤘
This known as the MOABANGER version. It was Moa's 20th birthday, so she got to sing lead as well. This is my favourite version and the one I have in my playlists. If you like the spectacular, try 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan. An unbelievable show.
Great reaction, thanks! Yeah, I'm a simp and I can't help it. It's called being a die-hard fan. It's also new to me and I never ever expected it. And I'm so grateful for that. You found a very special (and cool) version of "Headbanger" also known as "Moabanger" (well this is just a compilation, but you get the idea). Dad goes into the Fox Hole, head first. Daughter is now curious for more... that's good! 🤘🦊
I've seen this video several times and I love it. MOA is having a blast and she can be seen smiling big a few times!! Just show casing the talent that these women have!!! I only discovered them about 3 months ago and was happy to seem them come back after there hiatus. I am going to see them in Houston, TX August 30th. Very excited. I wish I could go to Japan and see one of there huge production shows! They are pioneers in this genre. Great 10 years and I hope many more.
Ah yeah Moa Bangerrrrr! Su is the Queen and Moa is the Princess and both are extremely talented. Good to see your daughter smile more in this one. Megitsune should be next! Also Road of Resistance, Catch Me If You Can, and ijime dame zettai (which is an anti bully song) 🤘🦊🤘
It was Moa’s special 20th birthday and she was given centre stage to sing Headbangerrr (Moabanger) which is a huge deal in the band as only Su sings normally.
In the 21st century, with the declining birthrate and aging population in the music genres of heavy metal and ROCK... In 2014, a group of Japanese high school girls broke down stereotypes on stage at a metal festival in the UK. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ro-_cbfdrYE.html The day UK fell in love with BABYMETAL until the end rolls 😊.
This is MoaBanger!!! I believe this was a performance for MoaMetals 20th birthday. So SuMetal gave her the mic. ❤️ Great headbanger version. You should react to BabyMetals HeadBanger performance at their Legend Of 1997 concert too. SuMetal is the lead singer and MoaMetal sings and dances. This MoaBanger performance is very popular. BabyMetal is amazing in every way and are about to release a new album on March 24th. I suggest you react to their song Karate live at Download 2016. Enjoy the BabyMetal ride! 🔥🖤🔥
Simping is different from fandom. Simps are men, or I guess people, who are invested into another person for the weird, parasocial reason of thinking they have a chance to be their partner. Fans recognize talent, and I'm sure there may be some simps among them, but ultimately they're following talent. Babymetal is highly talented, PARTICULARY the Kami band behind it.
This is my favorite version of Headbanger (Moa-banger) . This was a special Performance for Moa's 20th birthday she took over the vocals for Su. The first original live version was the Legend 1997 concert 6 years earlier and that was actually on SuMetals 16th birthday
Hope you don't mind a quick correction, Legend 1997 is the best known of the earlier live performances, the very first live 'Headbanger' was in 2012 at the Legend Corset (ie neck brace) shows at Rock May Kan in Tokyo. All the audience had bought special editions of the single which came with a neck brace and they had to wear it to get in to the shows (capacity 150). I think they did a morning and an afternoon show - they didn't have so many songs back then.
I'm lucky enough to be going to see Babymetal this coming Saturday here in London at Wembley Arena. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they've recently announced some dates in the States 😊
A loyal fan the eternal rise of the powerful talented dominated spectacular perfectly performance skills abilities! From the impressive Babymetals ever impressive music! Have a great fabulous wonderful day.

Babymetal reactions in no particular order: Megitsune Ijime, Dame, Zettai Road of Resistance The One Doki Doki Morning Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band intro)
I had the same reaction when I discovered them a couple years ago; "I need to go to their show", and they just announced the new tour last month so I finally have tickets! So keen!!
Babymetal has been rocking for a decade plus. You'll notice they go from cute rock to harder songs like Headbanger to their newest more mature themed concept album. The variations are outstanding. Enjoy the ride.. #extremefandom
That day was Moa Kikuchi's birthday in her hometown of Nagoya. The reason why Suzuka, the band leader, passed the microphone to her. All her family and her childhood friends were at the concert and it was really moving.
I hope you know that you have become fans at the exact perfect moment. Their new album drops in two days and they are starting touring for the first time in years. The Fox God smiles upon ye
Great reaction, you have a great journey ahead of you. Welcome to the One. Suggest you review road of resistance live in Japan, a babymetal tour deforce. Im 67 heard a lot of bands, I love these girls. Enjoy.
You guys i really enjoy your reaction, don't get me wrong but you started with the wrong version, this is one off version only performed during MoaMetal 20 Birthday in 2019 (she's the one taking the mic from SuMetal the lead singer), is actually a live compilation with footage of another concert in Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, that's another great version to watch full in its own right, but all these version are after 2018 when one of the original member left the group, so that's why I suggested you live at Legend 1997 held in 2013 when YuiMetal was still there, the third backup dancer you saw here is another non official member. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is a really special song and beloved by BM fans, some are Moa simps some Su stand, and some are Yui bross, but all of us love BM with all our hearts, but don't get fooled by this moment when all the crowd is vowing down on their knees, they're just doing what they since the very first MV when came out this song in 2012, they're summoning the metal spirit in a form of neckbrace which represents the Hedoban god and also is a tribute to the living legend Yoshiki from X-Japan. Anyway short story short the song talks about a girl going to her first live concert, probably metal, during her 15th birthday, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind, 15 is a special b-day and coming of age much like Sweet 16 in the US, this wasn't about any of the girls but they hug this song like it was meant to be for them, later on they performed this during special events like 15, 16 (during Legend 1997) or 20 another coming of age like you saw here. Anyway I'm really glad you enjoyed this and don't worry about coming back soon with another BM song, you got a long journey to travel in this beautiful madness. Next suggestion: - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, kitsune6001 got a safe to react version. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
You missed the Headbanger legend 1997, doesn’t matter anyway, any of their songs is very good and different, even the live version of the same song has a different amazing feeling, you can make reaction videos to each of them, as they always surprise and never get bored, just try to avoid some bad compilation or fancam videos though, following the most recommended ones would not go wrong for sure. So Road of Resistance live in Japan would be great for the next one, glad to have a wonderful Babymetal journey with you guys, Kitsune up 🤟🦊🤟
@@vegeta6555 Agreed, but they've just met Babymetal and don't know much about them at all, it will reduce the excitement of seeing this rare scene of Moa taking over the singing, so this one would definitely be better with a little delay 😆
Headbanger is also a pun. In English, Headbanger = fan of heavy metal. When drafted into Japanese "Head-ban-gurl" would mean the head girl of a band's fan club: ban-gurl = band-girl [like a PG13 groupie]. So the song's protagonist is a head-ban-girl heading to her first concert of her favourtie band, and also a headbanger
I would suggest BABYMETAL | Kagerou (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE Compilation (HQ) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hg3QsPI3x1M.html . It has a really good band member intro and the song is a bit more of the more mature sound of Baby Metal...one of my favorite songs from this awesome band. Great Reaction...we just need to get Devyn to try headbanging 🤣 🤘🦊🤘
Surprised you haven't reacted to their best songs/live shows yet...🤔 Road of Resistance live (hands down community favorite) and Megitsune (music video) probably their best song, and Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (must watch if you like the band playing the instruments) Btw wrong headbanger video...all good, can't wait to see more. "Simps" lol love it
Moa's Birthday edition you seem to have stumbled upon lol. Anyways reminds me when my daughter lead me to Babymetal via Rondo Of Nightmare Mischiefs Of Metal Gods at Budokan Live (Black Night). Su-Metal was 16 in that now legendary performance BTW. Anyways you couldn't have picked a better time to fall down the fox hole. Babymetal just released their 4th Album "The Other One" 2 days ago. It's easily one of their best albums to date. However, lots to cover here so no rush lol. Here is some Triva to get you started. What artist does Babymetal have direct connections to through one of it's members? ANSWER: That is none other then Marty Friedman of MegaDeath. Takayoshi Ohmura who is part of BabyMetal's Kami Band. Also just so happens to be in Marty Friedman Japanese band as well. Marty has been a big supporter of BabyMetal from the beginning. He has talked about them over his travels & interviews in Japan over the years. That is an interesting backstory in itself when one gets the time. As Marty has lived in Japan for over 20 years. Anyways, loved your reaction here. 🤘🦊💕
Hola!
Nice reactions👊🏽⚡️You are on the tip if the Babymetal catalog iceberg. A word of caution. Don’t expect the same song or sound. Expect the unexpected 🦊🤘🏾
If you want, you may want to jump into some Sakura Gakuin right away! It's where BABYMETAL was born. They have many good songs that aren't so metal. All of BAYMETAL's original stars were members in this group also.
