Song with lyrics written in remembrance of September 11th, 2001. A song story about a little boy with dreams of becoming a fireman, talks with his Dad and the tragic outcome of 9/11/2001.
Eddie Lanser My brothers are both firefighters and EMTs. I'm only thirteen but next year I am joining the explorer post at their fire department. I quite often check back on your comment. It has stuck with me since the first time I read it and inspired me to become the best firefighter I can be. Thank you to you and all of my future brothers and sisters.
equestrian gal I'll give you one little tip, from firefighter to explorer, listen to what they tell you. Brothers and sisters in this line of work would never steer you wrong. We are all family, yeah there maybe a little rough play, and some banter, but it comes with being family. We have each other's backs when the tones drop, and we get called to duty. Listen, learn, and forget what anyone says negative about the job. It's a great thing to do, and it looks good on a resume, as it's community service, and most employers do look for community service. The moment they skim through, and see your a local health care provider (first aid, cpr AED trained) and first responder, they will be highly interested. There's a lot of benefits to this line. The most important thing, don't ever get discouraged. If you can't remember where something is on a rig or can't remember how something works, don't hesitate to ask, the will show you where it is, or how it works. Firefighters never stop Learning, as our job changes everyday. New construction, newer types of cars, new equipment, new guidelines etc. Always ask, listen, and learn when doing it. Good luck, and hope to see you on the flip side when you become one of us.
I just can't thank you all enough for listening to my little song. I pray for all those in harms way with hurricane Sandy. Once again, thank you for all the firemen, EMS, and everyone that helps when disaster strikes. You've all put my song over 90,000 and I'm so amazed. God Bless !
My favorite thing , the kiddies. They wave every time. I've been doing this for a long time in a small town as a volunteer. Ambulance attendant Firefighter Marine coast gaurd auxiliary rescue Beautiful song
On 2001 the the Towers got Hit bi e a plan and my name is Bob and I will never forget 9/11 at the time I was not bon wet my mom told me that wut happing no 2001 and my mom said you are a very good boy and she name me Gabriel DeLeon. My grandfather was a firefighter, my dad a cop. I spent 8 yrs on the line before being paralyzed. I never had trouble on the line but after 6 yrs off the line the stuff I saw, smelt and heard haunts my every waking and sleeping moment. My dad didn't want me to do it, I wish he would have explained why. For you juniors please realize not everyone dies in the line of duty. This job can be utterly life changing in ways you can never understand. I miss my career but I'm not sure I would push my child into it and would support them but struggle with it.
Hey bro, if you see this let me know. Currently 5 years as a firefighter and the best thing anyone can do is have a good support network. It's been a long time since you put this post up, and I hope you see if. if you do, please sing out. I am personally over all the 'mental health programs' and besides being a Volunteer firefighter, Mental Health is my main job. If you ever need someone to talk to, sing out to those who have had similar experiences and able to relate. Seen my fair share of fatal's (for various reasons) and none of it is your fault. Being hurt, isn't your fault. You didn't wake up one day and think, you know what "i want to get hurt today". Please look after yourself and your family. I hope you are doing OK. If not, that's OK as well. Sing out to someone though if you're not!
I am so blessed by all of your comments! I'm so glad that this song is touching hearts like it did mine when I wrote it! That day will be in our hearts forever. We can not ever forget!
TrialzGTAS ❤️ When your down please also remember you’ve been my hero since I was 13 years old. That all real Hero’s wear a uniform, not a cape. And you all make a ole gals heart swell with pride and gratitude. God Bless you and your fellow firefighters, emt’s, soldiers, and police officers.
When I was younger I was shy so every first day of school that my father wasn’t at the station he would introduce himself to my class and bring his fire gear with him something I am not going to forget.
I remember when I told my dad I was going to get into Garland and be a firefighter, like him, mom, grandfather, and all his brothers. I remember him saying how proud he was of me.
I'm a B.C. wildland firefighter. Not knowing what I'd be when I grew up is what I played as a kid. Riding around the neighborhood on my little tricycle with this kids version of a fireman helmet. Thank you for this song.
I am 16 right now going on 17 in a couple days and joined the fire dept a couple months ago. I absolutly love every second of it. I am now an EMT and will be taking fire class this summer. When i told my parents i wanted to join they encouraged me fully until i decided i wanted to do fire as well, my mom was a little worried but still encourages me every step of the way. Anyone that wants to do it just do it! its all worth it in the end. RIP 343
@Newname-bc4jo when you turn 18 apply for a part time position, most departments nowadays will pay for you to get your paramedic license and put you through their academy
Thanks for this GREAT upload! My son was 8 years old when the COWARDS tried to destroy the American reserve! He is now 19 years old, and a fireman. Although we didn't have this conversation, we DID have one similar. He was so absorbed by all the coverage of the 9/11 tragedy, it was his decision to become what he has. God Bless America! And please, always thank a firefighter! Thank you to ALL firefighters/EMT's, etc. May all who lost their lives during 9/11 forever R.I.P.......
I remember when I started I was 16 started out volunteering with the dept down the road from my house I love doing the job I don't want to get paid for helping people I tell people I fight what they fear while they run out we run in and may god bless my fellow brothers and sisters that is a fire fighter!!!!!
This is my 2nd years as a fire fighter. It's the greatest thing I've ever done. I'm currently a 2nd generation firefighter and I'm a exterior firefighter.
I remember havein this talk with my mom and dad when i was lil and now im doin it.I'm a volunteer firefighter in my town and even my LT who i have know for years said we all knew u were gona be one of us one day...Respect to firefighter out there..A brotherhood of mean and woman who risk there live for no money just cuz we love what we do.
I just became an EMT in hopes of becoming a paramedic/firefighter, and I love my job more than I could have ever expected, the idea that you can physically do something that will determine if someone suffers or dies is such a powerful thing, and I love that I can help people every day.
Firefighters risk their own life to help us when we are in distress and sometimes dying see 9/11. God to praise the neighbor resisted. Rest in peace mate. Greetings from rodgau (germany)
God bless all of my brothers and sisters in the fire service who put their lives on the line every single day for total strangers. Bless all the men and women in law enforcement who have to deal with the worst of humanity and still find time to care for a stray dog, a scared child, and the little things that make life life. Pray for our EMT's and Paramedics who work fearlessly to save a life no matter the color of the skin, you wealth or lack of it, your faith or your lifestyle. And last, but certainly not the least of these please pray for a men and women in the armed forces of our nation and thank them every time you lay you head down to sleep.
I'm fourteen I'm a junior fireman but I'm a fourth generation firefighter at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it but now looking back this past April I'm glad I did I've ran over60 or 70 calls since I began doing this and I'm proud of it, I'm proud of my great grandfather, my grandfather and my father who were all firemen before me and I'm glad that i have a chance to live up to them it is going to be a lot of work to fulfill my dream of becoming the cheif of the firecompany my greatgrandfather helped start over 80 years ago but I know I can do it

Now everyday both my 13 yr.old son and my 6 yr. old son say mom I wanna be a fireman like Mike or Dad when we get older.
This is Wonderful thank you for making this I cried my eyes out with my self and brother and father being a fire fighter and my self being a 911 dispatcher it means so much to me 343 we will never forget
My dad wasn't to thrilled when I told him at 17 I wanted to join my local volly fire company. A year will have gone by this june and i love doing this.
thanks to anyone who created this song. this song reminds me that anyone can do something or die trying and it also reminds me of WELLES CROWTHER who died the world trade center. look up the video the man with the red bandana.
This song is beautiful, its so emotional. I had tears in my eyes, 2 minutes later i still have. God bless all firefighters and all people who save human lives by doing such a risky job! God bless you all
This song means so much to me. My dad was a fireman for many years and I'm following in his foot steps. This is a really touching song, you did a great job on it.
my father was a firemen for 23ish years but passed away from cancer last year and i keep thinking over and over all the firefighting related memories i have with my dad like him bring me to open house when i was really young when we use to live on long island and after we moved to maine helping around the station for open house when i was like 13 and listening to all his story's then when i was a junior at 17 in 2021 he was with me on my first few fire calls and since he's passed i really want to do this full time i just got my basic emt and basic fire so we're getting there i hope my dad would be proud of me. idk i felt like rambling on a comment that was made when i was 9 years old but yeah.... i miss him rip my dad (1976-2022)
@@LilDucker You would have NO IDEA, how proud he would be. I got two girls and whenever they see fire on the TV the pretend to hold a branch and go 'swooosh'. Makes me tear up right now just typing this. They are 5 and 2, both girls. I've already heard them say 'only boys can do it' or 'i not a boy'... I just give them a hug and tell them they need to grow up big and strong, and do the same thing as the boys. Your dad would be PROUD as HELL that you even went and got those qualifications. Best of luck getting a job in the field champ! From one firefighter who is a parent.... It's the actions of those that follow us that qualify us as parents, especially after we are gone. You have already let your actions speak louder than words and that is all he could have hoped for. Good luck mate :)
@@LilDucker Mate I didn't mean to do that. I sincerely hope they were not 'bad' tears either. Best of luck, remember its not all fun and games. There are a lot, but you do get to unfortunately be part of the worst or last days of many people. Have good friends, family and a good work environment and you'll be alright! Good luck mate!
dear god, help us firemen enter this flaming structure, look the devil in the eye and not be scared to fight him, and save lives, although, we may not survive .-hunter Platt volunteer fireman
What a Great and Brave Hero to go into the Twin Towers to save people's lives and then lose your own.May GOD Bless him and all other first responders on that day and everyday.Thank you Oh So Very Very Much. Signed: Tom Brennan .
9/11 Really Inspired me to Join the Volunteer Fire Department. I've always been about Helping people and Serving the Community. It's just something I've always wanted to do.

To all my 1st responder brothers and sisters. Thank you for your selfless service, and the humanity it takes to save a person you've never met. And give 110% to that person no matter what personal struggles you may be facing. I'm very proud to be a firefighter/emt
With this song I remember my Dad, when he said that i would be a firefighter when i was 6 years old. And now with 19 years i have my head up, cuse i know that him from the heaven look me with pride and he care me when i have an emergency run. NEVER FORGET USA. Regards from Argentina, one Voluntary Firefighter.
I've enjoyed my life as a firefighter. For nearly 31 years I have lived your song. God willing I will give 10 more years to this honorable calling. Thank you for such a wonderful song.
My great grand father grand father dad uncle brother and me are all firefighter and any person who is willing to lay down their life for another I am proud to be part of a brother/sisterhood like that
I'm an EMR right now. I got the fine opportunity to ride along with everyday heros and see them in action. I'm with the Fire Explorers now and I'm getting trained to be a firefighter. Nothing tops their courage and heroism
Love how so many people think all we do is "sit around" or waste time on "training" maybe we are taking a break after a 16 hr long fire. That you missed, but all you see is is "sitting" maybe you see us cutting a car and say jeesh they are training again! We do it so we are efficient at it. Because if it was traumatic enough with in an hr or less you maybe dead. So we have to get you out at break neck pace, while not injuring ourselves. If you want to disrespect me and my family of fire fighters I challenge you to go to JUST ONE structure fire and see how "easy" it is.
Ik you guys dont just sit i uses to be a firehouse kid seeing my brothers and my dad did it and at that time he was dispatching bc he could not fightfires bc he blew out his back doing that and concret and mowing.Ive seen it people need to shut up untill they have seen it all.
It is normal for normal people with no firefighter background that they think firefighter are only sitting in their house and doing nothing. In every department, they have to train a lot, have to repair the trucks and equipment, and should clean all trucks after an emergency. The short time during emercency calls where firefighters are doing their job which they have trained there are mostly about 10 people wathing them. In our city a lot of people think we are doing nothing all day long. They can't see the work behind the doors.
I totally agree I see a lot of disrespectful comments on a lot of fire fighting videos I watch and some people don't know how hard it is to be like us firefighters, putting on turn out gear and air pack and running into a burning house or crawling for that matter is more of a workout then people think and it does get real tough, I respect all firefighters, volunteer and paid , I know its hard , I saw it for my self I am a volunteer fireman I been through it all
Joshua Morgan it proves they dont know what it is like they dont understand i enjoy what i do weather it is being rushing to a medical emergency in the ambulance to going to a fire or car acciendent i am proud of what i do
I'm a volunteer fireman and I told my dad I wanted to be one sense I was 12. He was not thrilled but he is happy I'm doing something good. Rip to the 343 brothers and sisters that didn't come back that fateful day
Wow. I have been a voli for three years now, and last month my 19 year old son had that talk with me. I love what I do and I am proud that he wants to follow dads footsteps and help his community and neighbours.
Wow :) From a young firefighter in Canada this is the best song I heard !! I had tears brother :) RIP to all the firefighter died by doing the hardest job but the better
I remember just two years ago during Covid time 2020, my parents asked me what I wanted to be and I told them I wanted to become a firefighter, my dad said “That’s a good one buddy, Why don’t u join one of the local volunteer departments near us and learn as u go” I just joined last January and I passed my test to ride hydrant just yesterday after months of preparing and my brothers supporting me every step of the way, I’m ready to move forward with bigger obstacles ahead, I’m ready to have the water ready to flow at calls and start firefighting for real now, I’m ready to serve my country now and my city too and it’s people, I will do my really best to make my hometown proud, my country proud and my brothers and sisters at the station proud, and of course I will also serve at the best of my ability in honor of all of my 343 brothers and sisters who were killed in the line of duty on the morning of September 11, 2001 and everyone else obviously who came before me and laid down their life so a civilian gets a chance to live🙏🇺🇸
i am 16 and a fire fighter with my local fire dept and this so ment so much to me i said the same thing to my grandparents thanks for posting this,R.I.P 343
I'm a firefighter and I love being a firefighter. Things like this help me when I need a push. I love helping people but the bull that comes with being on a department gets tiring sometimes. All the politics and whatnot.
this song makes me think of my son hes 4 and since he was born hes been around fire fighters .. and its makes me happy knowing my son is taking after his mom
