The intro that RM was reading was from the book Deimian, which was the inspiration for the album WINGS. Then next MV was Blood, Sweat, and Tears, the title track for WINGS.
BTS wings album tells a story but you are randomly reacting to songs so you really not going to get the full concept of BTS albums that way. They are masters of storytelling.
YEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ!!!! Right!!!! He deserves mad love from all of us. His voice was the first voice I heard from them before I knew who BTS was. "MORE!!!!" was the song. Because I had not seen him at that point in time. I only heard him sing (Pied Piper effect). I really thought, "Oh wow!!! I reeeeaaallllyyyy like this dude!!! I wonder (no actual pun intended) what metal band he's in. Huh, (did intend that one) I gotta find out." Roughly 7 months (ironic) later, I learned more about them & asked without knowing at the time, "What are their names? Then I fell down the rabbit hole & into the Bangtan Universe.
Hi dear. 69yo ARMY here. This is part of the BTS Universe.... the fictional storyline that runs through BTS albums. In the storyline J-Hope is abandoned by his mother as a small child at a merry go round. V kills his alcoholic father to stop him from abusing his sister. Suga's mother dies in a fire. It's a story full of tragedy and hope. There was recently made a Korean movie of the BTS Universe with actors playing the BTS members.
This one is part of the BU. There's a whole story behind MANY of the MV's, coupled with notes, extras and more. Each member plays a different character and...well...it's long and complicated, but watching them out of order makes it very confusing. RM is quoting excerpts from the short novel, Damien, by Howard Hesse. The story is about a boy's search for self--examining good vs evil, truth vs falsehood--using Jungian psychological concepts of Individuation, persona, shadow, ego, and anima. This is just one layer of the onion. Another layer, is the tie in to the BU (Bangtan Universe) story line that begins with the previous HYYH (Most Beautiful Moment in Life) era. The BU is an alternative universe. This story line is told through MVs, short films, a webtoon, mobile games, and notes in albums (can now be found in book form). As you jump around through the MVs, you will start to see patterns (ex. Suga and fire) and strange diversions in MVs that seem unimportant to the song in the MV. These oddities are related to the BU. Everything in the MV sets and props has purpose and meaning. My suggestion is to enjoy the outer layer of the onion for awhile longer. Watch the MVs, enjoy the music, choreography, and visuals. Get to know the members and their talents. IF you decide you want to explore the BU, there are guides that will help you. Some reactors will go through and have their communities explain things along the way, tell you to watch someone's explanation video and be done. Some reactors want to delve into the BU the way early ARMYs did--exploring and pondering all the clues, coming up with hypotheses and modifying them, putting the pieces together with each MV, short film, concert trailer, etc. There are ARMYs who feel there is only one path, or only one explanation/interpretation. YOU decide which path to take. YOU decide what is right for you. The BU is complex, dark, and at times maddeningly confusing. The more you delve, the greater the reward.

Thanks for the JHope appreciation 💜 I personally think that JHope and RM have the most interesting discographies on their solo projects/BTS singles. They're both so creative and aren't afraid to try different sounds and compositions in their individual projects. When you listen to their music, you never know what you're gonna get.

Yes, Namjoon read lines of a book called 'Demian' for some MVs and short films for the Wings album. They are telling an story that goes with their concept. (The short films are all the solos in that album: Begin, Lie, First Love, Stigma, Reflection and Awake. And all of them are connected to the BTS Universe that it's a really drep and complex storyline) A combeck trailer is like the movies trailers that are released before the movie, but in this case they release a song part of the album or a performance. For example, Serendipity by Jimin is for the album 'Love yourself: Her' and singularity by Taehyung is for the album 'Love yourself: Tear' BTS has been doing this since 2014 with 'What am I to You' by Namjoon

Yes, you did. It was the award show performance where Hobi was hanging in mid-air while RM spoke. Than slowly descended down to the stage. Hobi & Jimin danced to this song. If I'm not mistaken, it was a mixed version of Boy Meets Evil. It will forever be one of many epic performances.

All the comeback trailers for the wings albums were shorter. Some of the videos that were in the Wings album had RM speaking from a book called 'Damien' it was a fictional story about a youth growing into a man and his struggles with good and evil as he grew into a man. You do jump around from song to song and are not doing it in chronological order so you will get a song one week that matches up with another song 2 weeks later but its ok. All these songs can be stand alone songs or can be seen as part of a whole story, its your choice how you wish to view the videos.

Fun Facts… The original song is “Ike’s Rap 2” by Isaac Hayes from the 70s. Comeback are usually a new project that coming and the trailer is a sneak peek. I have found that BTS can be enjoyed, A. musically, the beat are just earwormy, B. Lyrically, excellent writing, C. performace oriented and Choreo, and D. story telling E. comedic entertainment. No mater which way you delve in, they will always suprised you. The comeback trailer drops when BTS is about to release a new album, it's like a pre-release track, or like an introduction to the new album. This was the one for their album "Wings". For this album, there was a whole series of short videos, each featuring a different member of BTS, and taking us further down the rabbithole that is called the BU or Bangtan Universe. The BU is the storyline that runs through a number of BTS albums, songs, concerts, award show performances, webtoons, k-drama series, books, etc. If you follow the BU story in its entirety to date, you'd have to have journeyed with them ever since "I Need U" thru' all of these various things they released. It's kind of like the Star Wars universe, or the Marvel universe, it's a whole world out there that follows the story of these 7 guys played by the 7 members of BTS. You'd think it's autobiographical, but it's not, it's fiction, but it's so fascinating.

Most of BTS albums are built around a specific concept. They like to do trilogies, too, with the albums, like the School Trilogy and the Love Yourself Trilogy. Map of the Soul was originally supposed to be another trilogy, but they only did two albums. However, the second album has 22 songs on it. They combined the 2nd and 3rd album. A trailer, kind of like a movie trailer, is a teaser for what's coming. When this trailer came out, they were teasing the upcoming release of the Wings album. There are songs right before this video came out that have videos with "Boy meets ____" at the end, to tease the trailer. The words that RM has been speaking happen in several videos of songs from the Wings album. He's reading from the book, Demian, by Hermann Hesse. The songs in the Wings album are based on the concepts in that book, of growing up, temptation, and the loss of innocence as you transition from teenager to adult. Oh, and all of that is in addition to the fictional storyline, the Bangtan Univere, or BU, that runs through 5 years of BTS albums. The BU is a massive, interconnected multi-medium story that includes songs and their videos, short films, a webtoon, a mobile game, and a couple of books. The BU starts with the song, "I Need U" and is very dark. The boys all play characters who represent some of the bad things that youths, and frequently adults, have to face. Like poverty, drug addiction, homelessness, etc. The songs tell one story that is not necessarily related to the BU, the videos are what actually tell the BU story, at least initially, and then there are the more personal meanings of the songs to BTS and to ARMY. BU songs and videos can tell five different stories with one video. As deep as some of the songs that you've reacted to can get, you've still barely scratched the surface of BTS and their discography. Oh, and when you get around to the video for "I Need U", there are two different versions. One is longer, more detailed, and meant for mature audiences. You may not want your daughter watching that video. The other version is not necessarily for kids, but the themes shown aren't as dark so it's not rated for adults, like the first video is.

Wings album is incredible. This was the intro and there are 7 short films, one for each member that tell parts of the fictional storyline. RM narrates at the start of each with quotes from the book Demien by Herman Hesse. He also narrates a quote in the middle of Blood Sweat and Tears too, also on this album. The comeback trailers you see are the previews to the album that is coming out before it is released. A KPop group has a "comeback" for each album, no matter how much time passes between the release of one album and the next.

A trailer, in contrast to a teaser, obvs wants to entice you to listen to the upcoming release, but doesn't just tease you but also gives you additional important information whereas a teaser would just give you snippets of the real thing.
