the banana jokes are so funny cause in her first album Pang, she has a song were she says "show me the banana" and ppl used to bring inflatable bananas in the crowd so i guess it kinda makes sense LOL (speaking of Pang, i would love a reaction to that album, its a masterpiece)
Given that one of Caroline’s more iconic, meme-status lines is “Show me your banana, nanananananana” I’m pretty sure you have to wear a banana suit now
Love Caroline’s music a lot. Very surprised but happy to see y’all reacting to her. I would giving her album “Pang” a listen as well. Very good album in my opinion. I enjoyed almost every song.
Moth by chairlift is the album that introduced me to caroline! The whole album, but specifically the song moth to the flame literally changed my life forever! It’s so weird how big she’s become in the last two years! Glad so many see what I’ve been so excited about like 7 years!!!
Oof, Connor, if you've never seen her live, you're in for a treat. Live sounds absolutely rip it apart, those base notes resound and hit so hard in your chest, tears will flow without you even wanting. Saw her live in Primavera 2022 Buenos Aires.
I just saw Caroline live in the US and she was absolutely incredible! She played over half of the new record and gave flawless performances from front to back.. I hope you enjoy the show when you go!
My Girlfriend and I went to see Caroline on her second venue on her tour in Leeds a couple of days before Valentine’s day when the album released and she played the then unrealised songs and it was amazing. We were also about three rows (or people) back from the stage too and she is an amazing performer. My girlfriend has liked her for a long time and feels time album could really help become a household name! Glad you love the album too :)
Love that you have Art Angels in the background on this one. On my first listen I was instantly reminded of that album and just started laughing when I got to "Fly to You" in the tracklist. Also, see you at the show in Vancouver!
I'm stoked! I get to see her next month. I've seen her set list and she plays most of her new album but she has great songs like Pang from her 2019 album. I'm going to cry!!
She's bringing 90s production values back. Trip Hop and Drum n Bass particularly. Edit: And your dad knows the force behind Delirium? Of "Silence" fame? That's massive!
I love Caroline so much, even her Chairlift / Ramona Lisa / CEP stuff is just mesmerizing. oh and I saw her live when Charli brought her on stage for New Shapes and it was the best experience ever!!
Just got into this album in the past couple days 14:10 "no one will get the reference" Yeah, no, if you knew how many times I listened to Exilarch Basically my first half of 2011
such a good album, didn’t realize she was apart of chairlift until this moment!! the Charli XCX remix of welcome to my island is definitely worth a listen too!!!
I listened on Patreon for the first time with you guys, I probably wouldn’t have listened to it without you showing it and I really dig it and love when you do albums that you are really enjoying
this album is the epitome of loving the song you are listening to now, and then forgetting that a song that is just as good is coming up. each time is a surprise
been similarly obsessed with this album since its release, after following the buildup to it. ‘pang’ entangled me and ‘desire..’ solidified my admiration and adoration for Mz Polachek. came across this video after watching a few live performances and interviews - the relationship between these two is so adorable and watching how the two of them connect to it, in similar but unique ways, is truly heartwarming. both remain so open and curious about the tracks as they progress, and their perspectives are informed and expressed eloquently. few can deny the masterful quality of the production and the proficiency and divine excellence of Caroline’s voice. SOMEDAY I WILL SEE HER LIVE 😎
I cried listening to that album with you guys! My absolute favorite, best album of the year so far, I doubt any other will take its place tbh. Gotta listen to it with my dad too, I only showed him Butterfly Net because he’s a Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson, Canterbury Scene kind of guy and this album bears some resemblance to these acts, I think. She’s coming to Poland at the end of June and I couldn’t be more excited
So glad you guys have done this album - it’s been on heavy rotation for me since I discovered it a few weeks ago. Oh, and I’d love to see you guys do ‘Prioritise Pleasure’ by Self Esteem!
Been playing this all day for the first time in a little bit, what a coincidence Caroline and Charli gotta be the 2 best pop artists out there right now along with Dua Lipa
So, SO happy you two checked this out. Caroline has one of the most impressive voices in all of popular music, no questions asked. Honestly just makes me want y'all to check out Hiatus Kaiyote even more. You two loved Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote's lead vocalist) when her vocals appeared at the end of one of the songs on Anderson Paak.'s "Malibu" and Nai exists ok a very similar tier of vocalist to Caroline for me.
I was thinking it would be awesome to see you guys react to this album! Underrated but so incredibly good! I think another great album to react to would be art angels by grimes!
I love you guys but you talked over the BEST PART of Hopedrunk Everasking, arguably one of the best moments on the album hahaha tickled me. You guys are the best!
I've found you guys 6 hours ago and I've been watching non stop since there. I hope you guys listen to oil of every pearls on insides someday, other than that just keep up with the amazing content
you NEED to react to Preacher’s Daughter by Ethel Cain. one of the best debuts we’ve gotten in a really long time and it has masterful storytelling and production (she wrote every song herself and either fully produced or co produced each track too)
Already the album of the year for me, I don't think there will be a better one. I too have been listening to it every day since it came out and am sad that the vinyl release has been pushed back to August.
