Hey, keep releasing these videos. Your guys chemistry is on point, and you know a lot about this music. People will see this and want to keep watching.
Fr tho, it’s an experience if the parent has an open mind ya know, but sometimes black parents who are older are so closed minded to younger generations of music, this is very refreshing to see you know.
Dope! My son sent me this link who's 26 now and grew up listening to everything I listened and still listen to...I enjoyed watching super classic album my favourite Jay album hands down...good job guys 😎😎
I'm 40 seconds into this video, and I'm already loving the concept of your vision bro--a young black man bringing his wise black father into listening to the music that helped shape him into the person that he currently is. It's really beautiful to see. Keep doing ya thing bro!
Beautiful video. Love your insight and your dad is one of the most wholesome people ever. My dad and I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd together and this video just reminded me of how lucky I am to have him.
Jay Z confirmed that Allure is his favorite song he’s ever done. One of Jays best songs and Pharrell’s (Neptunes) finest beat’s Love how the beat is just Pharrell Williams humming over it
Damn I found the first vid! Great to see the journey thus far guys! As a black man, your channel has been inspiring on how I hope to hang out with my kid(s) one day.
This the first video I seen from this channel. I had a feeling your pops would like this album even after saying he’s not too familiar with rap music like that. It’s nice you get to share this with your pops. Mine doesn’t know English, so it woulda been cool if he did, but we talk about Spanish music too. Jay’s story/stories are somethin of another world, though. Salute.
Man, it' s just a joy to watch you and your Dad having nice conversations about those great albums! I' d suggest to listen to Rakim' s "The 18th Letter", Gang Starr' s "Moment Of Truth" and of course "Illmatic" by NAS.
Love the content and the vibes. You will cherish these memories for the rest of your life. Its an absolute blessing to be able to enjoy this with your father!
Man, this is special. One of my favorite Hov albums. Your father sounds like a musician. My pops used to love Hov too, he’s gone now but this made me feel connected to my pops again for sure. Great video my nigga
Man this is beautiful . It makes me remember trying to validate the genius of hip hop to my old man . I think the 1st album he acknowledged the brilliance of was Nas Illmatic during a long drive together .
I teared up when you said you wanted to do this to sped time with your dad. I wish I had the opportunity to share music with my father. Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
Coming from TikTok I’ve watched so many of your clips and didn’t know that you guys had a channel hearing you say you started this to spend more time with your pops is so dope it’s amazing to see what it has become from this.
I’ve been diving into some of the 90’s/00’s era hip hop albums lately and it’s been real fun coming back and seeing how pops liked it as well! Thanks for all the content 🙏🔥
Love this right here bro. The fact that you’re knowledgeable to break everything down CORRECTLY and your pops being open & not immediately negative is dope. This hol thing is 🔥 I’m subscribed now I need more of these 😂💯👌🏾
This is awesome bro! I love this! ❤ I'm a fan of 'Turning The Tables' so this channel is right up my alley. 2 suggestions a) Get Dad the lyrics. It may help him understand or follow better. b) Start a Patreon for full unedited vids? RU-vid will start, RU-vid"ing"🚫🚫 your vids sooner than later. Keep it thou.😊 This is dope! 👍🏽👍🏽
Easily my favourite Jay Z album the variety of producers and sounds is so on point! I know Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt are stone cold classics as well - but this album just speaks to me, I could never get bored of it.
If any of you enjoyed The Black Album, please watchthe *Fade to Black* documentary. It's *INSANE* how many people were involved. Amazing watch. Use headphones or blast it for a concert experience ❤
Does it make sense to say I rarely go back to the Black Album because it's too clean... Its so immaculately put together that I will always choose other albums over it if I feel like listening to some Jay Z
Y'all needed to deep digger in Jay's raps his raps are really layerful, deep and well thoughtout there a multiple meanings behind his single straight forward line, Double Triple entendres
21:47: Little known fact, John Legend (who was a part of Kanye's production team and soon-to-be artist on G.O.O.D. Records) was a hidden feature on Encore with his vocals and piano including the solo at the end
I’m late to the party here 🎉… Just came across your channel. As a post 55 year old man that loves hip hop (and some rap), this was a great album choice for your father to dissect and enjoy…. I don’t have an album suggestion for you and your father. But I’m positive that he would enjoy Royce Da 5’9” LA Leakers freestyle…
I love the way your dad really understands these records just off a single listen, man. He breaks everything down damn near perfectly lol love these videos keep them coming
I love THIS SERIES ... THE only miss is I think 🤔 pop would love knowing the old soul samples used in the songs ..I think that would connect them even more for example Dec 4th is THAT'S HOW LONG by the Chi-Lites
This is what success look like. Let this be a marathon 'cause I'm in for the long run. Another sub. Let's throw some south in there, Outkast, eventually. Any album really. ATLiens. Aquemini or Stankonia. Who are we kiddin'? Like you don't know =D If we really wanna give that raw rock, soul and blues and surprise of mastery, Stankonia. Or.. ATLiens. Shit, Aquemini though. Haha =D Peace -
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this review lol. I like that you described 9th Wonder as legendary. I think your pops would love Little Brother’s “The Minstrel Show”. One of my favorite projects
