@@Yaaaaaaaahacine24 that was for mbdtf, i don’t feel like explaining but pretty much kanye and the artists working with used to wear suits while in the studio while they were recording the album so it was just a witty joke
Looks fine. Could maybe be a lil brighter. Also I gotta recommend something. Miraculous machine, by junk science. Or the hundred dollar sandwich by the same guys.
Reborn is absolutely one of those shivers songs, and it still keeps giving! My fav on the album easily. Amazing getting to watch someone experience it for the first time.
Your father relating to “Reborn” was truly something special. These videos are having such a positive impact on his life rn and maybe other things as well. Special…
@@dionb7584 if im not mistaken, on the MBDTF vid he said he was gonna do 3 or 4 more specifically, but idk if he meant that as in he's gonna do only those 3 or as in he already got the 3 next on his mind
KSG came out right around when my mom passed and listening to Reborn really got me through it. Will definitely always have a special place in my heart.
100%, reborn is the track that brings it all together as well. I wouldn’t mind if they called it Reborn, definitely matches their energy and mindset in this album
I love how Kevin’s take on Reborn is just like everybody else’s. 😂 And that’s good, by the way, because it only goes to show how impactful the message that song conveys is. No matter the moment you’re going through, it resonates to you, just as an answer to any issue you’re dealing with: keep moving forward. That’s the power of music!
I knew your dad was a musician based on how well he picks up nuisances in the songs. A lot of things he picks up first listen thru, like drums, percussions, the mix downs on vocals, is very good 'active listening'. Hes picking up on all the things, I as a producer, listen for when making music. He knows how tricky it is to get things right, and it make so much more sense now why he has a new found appreciation for kid cudi and kanye, when it comes to how vocals sound and the mixing of cudi's vocals in particular. Amazing listening skills dad
Seeing your Dad recognize and enjoy the beauty of “Reborn” was so touching. I’m only 27, but to see that resonate with someone that could be my very own father is beyond powerful
The bond you guys have is something special. Makes me miss my late father. Reborn was a song I had on repeat for months that really helped me cope and deal with my demons after my dad suddenly passed away.
At the risk of being a bit indulgent, I just feel compelled to say how jealous of you guys I am. My dad passed away when I was 15, nearly 12 years ago now, and I wish I had the opportunity to introduce him to the music I’ve discovered since his passing. Watching your videos is a vicarious delight to me. It makes me so happy, I almost get choked up. Sharing art with your father, or your son, is god damn beautiful. I’m sure you know this, but you have an awesome dad. And I’m jealous and happy for you at the same time. Even though I can’t have the same experience, it’s amazing to even watch it happen for someone else. Do not take these moments for granted, sir. Thank you for making these videos, I look forward to more.
No, that album is not a good one to review with your father. It's meant for its own time in history by yourself because of the type of album it is, a heartbreak album to reflect past and/or current relationships by yourself. This album is great to review with your father though. P.S. People don't recognize that this album is like a movie. From track 1 to 7, the sequence is like a movie plot.
Almost wanted to cry when I heard it for the first time, alot of cudi fans were starting to doubt his ability to make a classic cudi hit again and he brought me back to 2009 with this one😍
even though his last few have been mediocre there are still good songs on them. i just wish his mental health issues didn't push him down the evangelical christian route.
This channel has become an instant favorite of mine. I’m already excited for the next one. Suggestion: I’d love to hear dad’s opinion on the albums covers! Before the listen, he could give his predictions on the mood/theme of the album. After the listen, he could give his thoughts on whether or not the cover art gave a good depiction of the album’s sound! Can’t wait for the future listens!
Man him talking about how he was just zoning out vibing to Day N’ Nite in his free time off camera was so cool. I love seeing that he truly enjoys, respects, and resonates with this music.
I still remember back when he first gave it a ten I thought he was crazy, thought it was an 8 myself. Then I just kept coming back to it all time cuz I couldn't help it. Guess he was right all along
@@brittig8983I think it’s like an 8. It’s a short album and still has some room for improvement. Also think of all the great hip hop albums that are 2-3x as long with 2-3x as many bangers.
I love how your dad was so touched by “Reborn” everything he was saying is what I felt when I first listened to that song. Along with “Cudi Montage” it’s such a beautiful Godfull song. It’s helped me get through this tough time I’m fighting through. “LORD SHINE YOUR LIGHT ON ME, SAVE ME, PLEASE, STAY STRONG”
@@jaxon2861 I know it’s a running joke that “people don’t have an opinion until fantano puts a review out” because a lot of ppl base their opinions in critics reviews instead of listening themselves
Fun story about this album, I was in a really toxic workplace when this came out. I had it playing in the car on the way to work the morning it came out, as soon as the line "YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR JOB TO THIS!" came through my speakers on Free I felt soooo empowered to make a change, I walked in and quit right there on the spot.
@@skaterknight1 bro....who do you know? find some new music friends my guy they have awful taste everyone who i know who also loves hip hop adores that part cause its incredible
I wish my dad would give me the time of day to listen to an album from me let alone have a healthy conversation with me. It's really cool that your dad sits down with you and that you guys can bond over this. This is the first video I've seen on the channel and I find it very endearing. I hope you appreciate these times together and that one day they will be great memories for you and perhaps your son or daughter. PS: I bet artists who watch these would love to see people react to the album from start to finish but labels gotta claim them. I argue it's fair use with people talking over the tracks it's not replacing the market for the original product or negatively affecting the sales of the album. If anything it's like promotion. People play video games entirely through and promote them and I hope in the future there is some way that music and reaction channels can react to entire albums without having to make edits outside of the one's they wants to make.
@@omninuss6847 I get what you’re saying but to me it still feels like Tyler is way less dramatic on Flower Boy than on Igor when approaching these same serious topics in a more
this nearly brought tears to my eyes, I just enjoy it so much listening to the music with you and it almost feels like im part of the conversation, so cool to see someone else who feels so much listening to kids see ghosts
These videos are so good, not a single one has disappointed so far. There's just so much joy to be had in watching an open minded person discover new music through somebody close to them, and the live listening experience brings that to a whole new level. Please don't stop! I'd love to see reactions to Mac Miller's Swimming or Circles, Flower Boy/IGOR, Yeezus, Ye, Good kid maad city, or Kanye's first two albums!
“Blonde” is an album I wanna see your dad react to. I think it’s the perfect album for him. I know you get a lot of requests, but “Blonde” would be awesome. Keep up the good work!
Anyone else hear God is Perfect playing right after Cudi Montage wraps up lmaoo, would love to see a Gibbs reaction preferably Piñata. Happens at 24:57
Your dad's reaction to Reborn gives me goosebumps. Its exactly how i felt about the song the first time I heard it. It's so beautiful and yet was one of the least talked about songs on the album.
It's really rare that a channel rather early in it's lifetime immediately hits the ground running and continues to improve from there with every video. If I hadn't known that you haven't been doing this for years, I really would never have been able to tell. Keep it coming, I look forward to every video you guys post!
It’s so dope that you guys are having great success with this. Speaks volumes about the content you guys are putting out. Looking forward to what’s to come!
I don’t think he’d like it in his first listen tbh. I didn’t and now I can honestly say I like it the most out of Kanye’s entire discography maybe other than this. I think this an yeezus tend to grow on people the more they listen to it
@@iitzcak3494 quite the opposite I think yeezus at the time when it dropped was new and expiremental u can now hear similar drums in many songs so I think he would love it on the first listen
Love that the music we used to help with our mental health is now an option for your dad to go to on those alone nights like we have. It's beautiful what music can do. Props to you guys! Keep up the amazing job.
I absolutely adore the fact that, though the album length’s way shorter than what we’re used to nowadays, it still feels like you’ve went through a thorough, round experience once you finish it. It’s a feeling I can’t describe with words.
@@rponcesilva My personal preference for the “right” length for any album is around 40 min., which is the approximate time of a LP (each side being around 20 min.). Old school, yes, but it never feels as there’s filler.
Your dad's excitement over some of these Cudi and Kanye tracks got me real inspired by them again. They are truly up there as two of the most creative musicians of our time.
I was playing Rocket League with my friend when KSG came out. He isn’t a huge hip-hop fan and isn’t familiar with Cudi, but a couple of minutes into Reborn he put his controller down and said “wow this guy has overcome a lot”. I said “yeah it’s Kid Cudi”, but then it hit me just how profound Cudi is as an artist. The song had kind of faded into the background for me as just another Cudi song about personal struggle and triumph. But it fully captured my friend who had no connection to his music before that moment, and took him to another zone where he had to fully stop what he was doing and gather his thoughts
This album dropped at a real low point in my life and that song reborn complete changed my whole perspective on everything and dragged me out of the hole. Amazing what music can do. Love the channel by the way only found it today. Keep it up 👊
Reborn hits different when you're in that place, thats for sure.. your dad has such a keen ear for music. picks up on the most subtle things in beats that make a big difference on the track. recognizing all those little details, on first listen, is amazing
What about "Awaken My Love!" by Childish Gambino? Incredible instrumentation and extremely moody. Random Access Memories by Daft Punk is also one of the finest recorded and produced records of all time. Since he's into production I think he'd appreciate that
Reborn really let me get my pent up emotions out. Being a person who held everything in it was amazing listening to Reborn and your father closing his eyes to the humming listening to each different hum is so amazing for me to see someone other than me appreciating the song. Made me happy thank you guys
I’ve never EVER had on notifications on a channel until now. The chill vibe between y’all, the authenticity of Dads reaction, his knowledge and curiosity of music is just amazing. This channel is an instant favorite. Suggestions: ye, Blonde, The Life of Pablo, Good Kid Maad City.
Life changing experienced when I listened to Kids See Ghosts during my first ever Acid Trip. It took me out of a scary place and made me cry tears of joy that I am alive and have the ability to keep moving forward. Forever greatful to Cudi and Kanye
@@jamesl3426 since I listened to the album beginning to end it really was part of the journey. Kinda how a trip can have its insanely nice moments and moments of negative reflection. It was part of life. And it all ends with “Heaven lift me up” on Cudi’s montage
100% go through all cudi albums with your dad and show him how he’s progressed and developed since MOTM.. especially PPDS he Will love the hums that’s where it pops off and just project in general. Great work. Love the channel.
Love the vulnerability that both u guys especially pops gives in the reactions to the songs! That’s such a big part of why I love watching reaction videos on RU-vid. It’s great so see how people feel listening to the music that made me emotional. Keep up the great work
Watching the release of the album live, them at the bonfire. I heard Reborn and it just hit me. During it and the rest of the night, before track list wast put out, I was telling everyone on social media "Keep Moving Forward" was a masterpiece.
I was just listening to this album after watching the Man on the moon video you guys did. I am really glad I found you guys! good work and I'm excited to see your dad enjoy the glory of Cudders
Man seeing ur dad react to Reborn gave me the chills. Hope whatever he’s going through right now I hope he transcends with whatever his goals are. Love this
Cudi's montage was the best for me then Reborn. Whatever your father felt in Reborn I felt in Cudi's Montage.. Literally got goosebumps and still will get em every time. It was like the release of emotions. And it said so much.
These are so cool because it’s almost like I’m experiencing these albums for the first time again but through your dad. Please don’t stop making these PLEASE DO RODEO
Man you guys need to do Pray For Haiti by Mach-Hommy, it's my favorite album of this year and not many people have reacted to it so I would be so thrilled to see it!
It's been a real pleasure seeing your dad experience this music for the first time. I love to see the effects of the music transcend generations of people. I literally wept my first time listening to Reborn. Like a lot of Cudi fans will tell you, his music has a way of lifting you when you need it. I'm glad your dad was able to find some comfort in that track. Kanye and Cudi released pure fuego with KSG.
