Noway. They wrote on their report that they visited and basic, "looks normal" speak. Overworked is no excuse. F that employee. They better have lost their job.
Again, the failure of CPS continues. The front yard and front porch alone is enough to take custody. Rusty nails, glass bottles, etc. It's a hazard for any child to be close to.
Are you new? DCS hardly ever actually does what its supposed to. They'd rather ignore the actual issues and target parents who don't need the attention. There are always exceptions to that but I've seen this shit happen many times.
Idk, by that logic I would have been taken away from my mom and we have a really good relationship so maybe it's more situational than across the board child abuse.

One look at them and you can tell they are junkies, they didn't hear it because they were probably nodded out on dope or passed out after a meth binge. The baby's help was likely delayed while they hid the drugs before calling 911.
It’s about time that DCS were obliged to carry body cameras to each and every single visit. This would prove that they had actually visited, create a pictorial record of the living conditions and would also act as a safeguarding measure for the DCS workers whilst also ensuring that the DCS workers were not showing any bias.

This father is the epitome of neglect, letting filth accumulate in every corner of the house, creating an environment that is not only unsafe but downright grotesque.
This is why you don’t let your kids go to just anyone’s house. My child will never stay the night at anyone’s home; but I’d never allow her to even spend the day at anyone’s home unless I’ve vetted the home and family. Many people live a filthy lifestyle and others make excuses for it. My mom’s home is filthy and she never cleans. I don’t get it.
Fr, my parents have a bit of a hoarding issue, so the family home was always messy, but we _never_ had mice, because most of the mess was just clothes and toys, not trash. The state of this house is downright neglect. I bet they didn't start getting mice traps until the issue was already out of hand.
I agree and surely the baby would have cried too, when my baby has he’s own room I’m making sure cameras are in that room for sure and it’s upto standards
A six-month old baby is never brave! That was really creepy to hear her say that because it means that the toddler girl was repressing her own terror and horror, was pretending to be brave, and was projecting that onto the baby boy.
The way they talked about their baby brother was precious. “He come right back from that doctor. Him brave!”. Yes he is! Strong little man. I pray all these kids are somewhere together and safe.
Yes, I used to work in a pet shop, even hamster bites are painful. Unless that baby has been conditioned not to cry through abuse, that baby cried loudly.
I got bit by mini hamsters as a kid when trying to feed them while they had babies and at 8 that made me bawl. Broke skin I was crying like a boob. I can’t IMAGINE the poor pain of that little guy..
I have read the small children, infants and newborns, can black out or faint when stressed/endangered. Blood pressure change due to stress causes people to faint all the time. Once the little guys started losing blood, I would think that it could cause even further fainting and further lack of awareness. This is literally the kind of scenario that makes me paranoid when I have ANY inkling that there could be something wrong with my kids while they are sleeping. If you ever get that feeling, don't go to sleep on it. Go check!
could have been in shock? it's common for babies circumcised to not cry for this reason. and then blood loss quickly weakened him. either way, these people should not have children in their care.
And yet they left them there another night. Only in the United States do we put politics first. They could have found room in ER foster care placement but instead des said they would get placement tomorrow. So those 4 little girls had to be quiet and go to sleep knowing that Bobby's fingers were chewed off. They could be next.

It's absolutely appalling that CPS was already looking into this family and nothing was done. You always hear stories of kids being taken from actual descent homes while others, like these poor babies, get totally ignored. It's infuriating 😡.
I absolutely agree this is a sad fact. CPS is far from perfect. My mom got a du8 and had me home with my 10 year old brother and 12 year old sister alone and we were in a foster home for 3.years till our mom got us back. She cleaned and cooked for us every day and worked several jobs and yet these poor kids were made to live like this because CPS thought things were okay.
Not wrong, but I do want to point out, a lot of the stories of kids getting taken from good families…. Who says? The family? The friends of the family? A lot of people will claim a family is good without having any idea what goes on behind closed doors. Not saying it doesn’t happen… but less then the stories would have you believe.

This is not about them being poor, this is about the parents being mentally ill. They are not mentally ill because they are poor, they are poor because they are mentally ill and can't handle their own lifes, even less that of their children. Mental illness can be and often is just as detrimental and even dangerous to the sufferer as physical illness and in addition often dangerous to others. The state needs to take care of those who can't take care of themselves, ESPECIALLY those children. CPS obviously completely dropped the ball on this one.
@@Olivaro10 So you "know" they are "mentally ill?" I understand your place not looking spotless 24/7 but how hard is it to not throw your trash on the ground??
When you live in filth you'll never stop infestation. There are other things going on here too. How can DCS visit home like this & no thing is done? Our system is useless. Shameful & horrifying. Poor babies. Heart breaking. 😢😢😢
Absolutely not making excuses for these people but as someone who struggles with depression, I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes taking out the trash is hard to do. I had a mice problem pop up recently and it was a big wake up call. The difference is I am only one person and I have a tiny apartment so it only took a bit to clean up. Some people just have no business having kids.
It could be a hoarding problem which is a mental illness problem, one that can't solved by simply telling them to clean up - it requires therapy, and even then it often comes back (you also have different types of hoarders and different degrees/stages). And then you have people who are simply filthy, I don't know why. Depression? Compulsory behaviours similar to hoarding (like compulsory shopping)? Low self-esteem? That's how they were raised? That's what they are used to? An amalgamation of these things? It's highly bothering to see places in *such* conditions for sure. Being a bit messy or disorganized isn't a tragedy, but leaving soiled diapers laying around? Or rotting food? It's a bit baffling when you're not in these people's mindset.
@@insomniousluci2931 Depression is one thing if you're living alone. But when you have children, you either do your damn best OR recognize you're not in a good state of mind and get help. You don't let it get to the point where rats are chewing off the fingers of your children.

WRONG. She was there within 2 weeks of this and on numerous DCFS reports as well. It’s just sad that we no longer institutionalize mentally ILL until they either harm themselves or someone else & with dire consequences until they go to prison! Mentally ILL cannot be expected to take anti-psychotic medications properly when free & usually self medicate with street drugs. In 1980s the ACLU sued for the mentally ill rights and “won”. The institutions closed. They are free until they kill someone else (then they go to prison) or hurt themselves then they get Temporarily put in Mental facility & released!

People think child services is like a real safety net. They're just government employees, most of them are barely qualified for fast food. The real solution is smarter people, why does some slurring hillbilly who looks like he's like 50 have a baby anyway?
I think there should be an investigation for sure. We shouldn’t rush to judgement just yet on the caseworker though. There are certain states that continuously underfund or flat out lower budget for DCFS/CPS/DCF. These departments are already stretched and when we refuse to give resources or decide to cut budgets, they do not have the ability to hire enough capable caseworkers. These departments are notorious for insanely high caseloads that are essentially impossible to keep up with, properly. There are sooo many instances where caseworkers raise their concerns with management and recommend removal, but their managers say that it’s not that bad and refuse to remove. The managers will just say they can work with the family and these are the cases like this one. “Surprisingly & shockingly” the child ends up seriously injured or deceased. Then, DCFS/CPS/DCF use the caseworker as the scapegoat despite the managers being the reason the child(ren) were still in the home. So until we have a better understanding of everything we shouldn’t put it on the caseworker. Ultimately, we need to stay on top of our local/state government to require that they PROPERLY fund departments that protect children, elderly, & our most vulnerable people. We must ensure that add to the budgets to bring staffing levels to a place that is sustainable and allows for the proper case management to occur to avoid unnecessary losses.

It's not so simple as "seeing the light at the end the day". Complex trauma affects how brain processes fear. It makes children more likely as adults to have addictions (smoking, alcohol, drugs), mental health issues, young pregnancy, incarcerations, lower levels of achievement in education, poverty, and on and on. Even the way they manage relationships, the types of people they'll end up dating, and their own manner of parenting someday. This is so serious and can't be silver lined, even though your intentions are good and hopeful. We must be prepared for the most likely reality of situation. Even after removal from their parents it's possible they continued to experience difficulties (separation from one another, foster homes, eventually maybe adoptive family).
@@SoulDelSol oh, I completely understand that complex trauma isn’t that easy. I have complex medical trauma myself, so I know how complex it is firsthand. I know that with complex trauma there’s no closure, but I basically meant to say that I hope they can come to terms with their trauma, understand what happened to them, and that it’s not their fault, and nothing they did caused their parents to neglect them in those ways.
@@RitaRiley-w4d thank you so much, that’s so very kind of you. As someone who has lived with medical PTSD for the last seven or eight years due to the physical disabilities I was born with, and the chronic illnesses I was also born with but weren’t diagnosed until I was 16 (almost three years ago) and weren’t treated for the first eight years of my life, even though my symptom onset was at birth even though it wasn’t spotted.
BRO I REMEMBER HEARING ABOUT TJIS, I love in Evansville and my family does foster care we got the call about these kids but sadly didn't have space for all of them the pictures uncensored where so deeply disturbing but I remember this happening
Imagine being in a mental health facility and you come back to find your incompetent husband let ur baby lose their fingers... Edit: yall comments go crazy... the house was nasty as hell but that doesn't change how devastating that is for the mom.
It's all the mom's fault for not being there, don't you know? Lol The dad shouldn't have to clean or care for his own children! 😂 How absurd. Even if she were dead, they'd blame her and let him off the hook.
@@taylorkozak8890 because she is still responsible for the mess and the conditions in that house. Maybe her mental health contributed to the mess and she allowed her children to stay there.
Fact. The system doesn't care at all about kids. Look at the sentences p3dos get, IF they even get charged with anything. Justice system needs an entire overhaul.
The finger tips are EXTREMELY Sensitive!!! I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that poor baby must of endured while literally having your fingers eaten while you’re fully conscious!!!😮😢
@@6sfullrcbycarlscustoms473 i got cut nasty on my finger tip by a razor (my bathroom trash bag broke went to pick up the trash with my hands not realizing there was a razor and literally grabbed the blades with said finger tip) anyhow the pain was HORRIBLE instantly!! I literally almost passed out because my finger was hurting so bad. I can’t imagine the pain that sweet baby felt, it breaks my heart. They can’t tell me he wasn’t screaming😭 if he wasn’t they had to have given him something to knock him out (which i doubt, sadly i think they both just ignored that precious baby☹️)
*Baby eaten alive by rats* "No officer, i didnt hear a damn thing. Baby was fine when i checked on him a lil while ago!" Neglectful parents of the year nominee. 🥇
