This song was played at my Mom's funeral in 2015 she passed away at the age of 45 from cancer I was only 14. My Mom loved to dance; she used to go to a place called The Tumbleweed in Stillwater, Oklahoma back in the late 1980's and 1990's back then is was where all the cowboys and cowgirls when to dance and my Mom was known as the little Christian girl and my Grandma was known as Mom to them because most of them didn't have a good relationship with they own parents. This made my cry but is was a good cry.

My father was a radio personality at a country radio station in Indiana. When he learned that he had stage 3 lung cancer he made a CD of music that meant a lot to him. This song, sung by Lee Ann Womack was among his selections. Dad went home to our heavenly Father Feb 2009. This song still makes me emotional because I think of him then I think about my children. I just wanted to let you both know how much this song means to me. About a year ago I was preparing for my wedding when I first heard your version of this song. I had been searching and searching for a song to dance to with my dad. As soon as I listened, I knew this one had to be it. It made it even more special knowing you are a daddy daughter duo too. I must admit that I cried the whole way through this one, Matt and Savanna! I lost my dad, my best friend, while I was in college and when I started going through my own now 24 year health/medical battle that I’ll fight the rest of my life. I didn’t want to live life without him, but I’ve endured some incredibly difficult times (including the amputation of my left arm) because of my faith, family & friends, and music. Because my physical disability and connective tissue disease is damaging all of my joints, it has also shattered my personal and career goals and dreams. It’s so easy to get down and depressed...but when I hear this song, (I think especially your version, as father and daughter ♥️) I imagine my dad holding me, saying “I know how hard life has been for you, but promise me you’ll continue to give faith a fighting chance. Don’t give up!” Thank you both so much for sharing your music with us!

I danced with my son at his wedding, about 20 years ago, to this beautiful song. I hope he and his lovely bride still hold these thoughts close to their hearts. I believe they do. This May, my daughter is getting married in Cabo looking over the ocean. I have picked this song for the father-daughter dance. After the first verse, the groom will bring his mother out on the dance floor. Then the father of the groom will bring the bride's mother out after the next verse. I had to wait until I had the emotional strength to listen to this because I knew it was going to reach in and grab my heart. I was right. I was crying after 10 seconds of hearing your voices. It was so beautifully done I felt like you both really meant the words you were singing. I know you were. I hope I can dance again in my heart. I've lost so much love in the past couple of years that I can barely catch my breath. Keeping busy is one thing but loving is another. I love my family and my pets, but I would love to have a new wonderful man to love in my life. I lost the man I loved to a surgical error. I was shocked so badly I'm surprised I didn't literally have a heart attack hearing the news over the phone. Our love was just blossoming from a beautiful friendship. It was the most shocking thing I've ever been through and I've been through some shocking things. I pray I can find somebody as special as he was in their own way. I want to dance in my heart and with my feet again. The type of dancing that brings your hearts close together.

It is pure joy to listen to your music, but it just warms my heart see how Mat looks at Savanna when she is singing. The pride on his face is just the sweetest thing. Keep singing. We need your voices and your spirit.
