It's so weird seeing the Kratos/Atreus relationship at this stage after seeing them grow so much

I love it how kratos can canonically hold up the world and destroy universal beings who can wipe creation but can't talk to his son cuz he's too scared

After watching Ragnarok, the opening hits so hard. Seeing Kratos say he wanted Faye in a tomb to keep her close. He loved her so, and he felt burning her body would be losing a piece of her. He respects her wishes and it clearly pains him

Rewatching this playlist for the 4th time, I’m just now realizing that Kratos tries to teach Atreus that shooting only once and precise is better than shooting multiple times fast without as good of accuracy, yet since the player is controlling Kratos and in turn controlling when and how fast Atreus shoots, he’s pretty much just telling the player that button mashing isn’t what it is in this game as it was in the older ones. Also that’s a long ass sentence.

the way that baldur is like im not my brother which is referencing faye's fight with thor that gets revealed when you explore the crater in vanaheim in ragnarok is so well thought out i love how all of faye's backstory contextualizes all of this opening

It actually astonishes me how they managed to make Kratos wiser from his time in Greece without it throwing the fans of those games completely off. And how, even though he's being hard towards the kid, we all know that it's because he's been along the same route and just wants his kid to be able to fend for himself.

The reason why Kratos calls Atreus "boy" a lot, is because when they were developing this game they didn't have a name for him for the longest time. So they had his voice actor Christopher Judge pretty much just call him "boy."

They recognize these people are here for an interactive story. I know it's been a few years, but I just really appreciate that. 👍

When Kratos said “ Do not be sorry be better” at 17:27 after watching the GoW Ragnarok part 11 I FUCKING LOST IT 😂

I'm here watching again after Ragnarök, and I noticed something. At time marker 1:03:40 after Kratos pulls Atreus out of the floor, the camera pans slightly down to show you some red cloth peaking out, those are the blades. THE GAMEIS TELLING YOU THAT THEY ARE IN THE GAME AND WILL POTENTIALLY BE USED!!!!!!

I wish that there were little side quests that were just Father-Son bonding. Like Kratos cooking Dinner for the two and letting Atreus help in little ways, or Kratos fishing with Atreus. Stuff that seems like "training" but is really just Kratos doing his best at being both himself and Faye for Atreus

it's so interesting to listen to baldur's lines knowing now that he thought kratos was the giant he was looking for because he had faye's ashes on his hip. it really did seem like he was talking about greece vs scandinavia until you learn. the writers for this series are literally so clever i love it

I remember watching this series when it was first uploaded. I then watched jack play Ragnarok, and felt the urge to re-watch the 2 series back to back. I did not think that this was 5 years ago. I feel old.

I started watching this today and noticed that near the bridge where Jack met Broc there was a chain he could have gone down and maybe Jack would have gotten some more hacksilver and maybe he would have enough of it to update the B O Y S bow

This game easily has one of the greatest openings ever. Literally every time I hear Ashes and see Kratos mourning his wife, I get chills. Outstanding job to all people who made it.

I love how most of the commentary is just Jack thirsting over Kratos' voice.

Me just finishing watching the God of war Ragnarok series and watching Brok die then coming back here and watching jack meet him for the first time :(

Imagine you just lost your mother and your dad is spending the day with you out hunting and instead of using the time to console you he runs around hitting nothing over and over and randomly seeking out and fisting garbage people left behind

Watching this after having finished Ragnarök is a really cool experience, because you get to see some plot points carried through (i.e. "I'm not like my brother!") and other similar things.

OMG I just realized that Kratos in a way is carrying the ashes of both of his wives throughout most of this game. His recent wife’s ashes in a pouch, he last wife’s ashes on his skin (well and his daughters too).
