"The sins of the fathers" perpetuate into future generations like dominoes falling against each other, UNLESS they are stopped, through the power of Jesus.
Dads and Dominoes - The Sins of the Fathers
Numbers 14:18 “The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.”
Our sins have a significant effect upon our lives.
They bind us, rob us, and steal the joy from our relationship with God and each other.
They even effect our children.
Sometimes our lust, anger, pride, habits and addictions can be so contagious that they are passed on to our children, their children and even their children’s children.
Like dominoes falling one into the next, the “sins of the Fathers” will fall upon those in generations to come…
UNLESS…
…Unless they are rooted in Jesus and standing upon the rock.
God’s power and love can free us from the generational sins of the Fathers, reverse the lasting effects of sin in our lives, and establish us upon the rock of His Word.
Jesus said:
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” Matt 7:24
Neither we, nor our children need to bear the consequences of generational sin.
Jesus’ blood frees us and forgives us from “the sins of the Fathers”
Col 2:7 “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth.”
Psalm 62:1-2 (David) “My soul waits in silence for God alone; From Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken.”
