Reminds me of Varys' quote, "power lies where men believe it is". She can spew all her titles, they mean nothing to her. But Khal Drogo, even in death, gets respect from them.
One thing is the words another are the actions. They knew Khal Drogo therefore respected him, but they never saw her dragons neither her walking trough flames nor they saw her commanding the unsullied so for them those were just words from a crazy lady covered in dirt and ashes. It took them on glance on her not burning to bow and se ever ride a dragon to accept her as their Khaleesi.
That's because the khals were dumb. They should have taken into consideration that she had large dragons (that could have come to save her) and that she was fire-proof. If they paid more attention to who she was, they would still be alive. They underestimated her and that costed their lives.
@@cathleenwarner1778 They may not care, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't care. People don't have to accept the judgement of the world. If someone tells us we're worthless, we don't have to act as if its true.
Yep and he made dany strong because that had happened to him changed her and made her ice cold but in a good way but sometimes she is a little bit too much and kills too much but that is all negative that is said about her even her killing has always a reason and is only done when it is necessary and there is no way out. But killing is never a reason, but dany learned that, the hard way and don’t forget that she only got this cruel because of kahl drogos death.
@@madhavacharya9912 that’s not what they mean, well at least im kinda sure. they probably mean most people move on but it shows how much danny rlly rlly rlly loved him so so much and still miss him.
Well, they do seem to be blowing her off up until the moment she claims to be a Khal's widow. That makes them pause and consider everything else about her. I imagine it's more of a 'trust, but verify' situation. Breaking the law to not rape a Khal's widow is probably enough of a cultural no-no that they have to take it seriously. One imagines that pretending to be a Khal's widow comes with punishments to balance the protections such a claim affords. That also would give a person pause -- she'd be risking a LOT by such a lie.
While that may have been naïve on Dany’s part, something I’ve always noticed about this scene is that the women explicitly don’t laugh at her. Even if they think her titles are ridiculous, to spout off a résumé like that - and in a language that, by all appearances, she shouldn’t know - is clearly much more serious than the men think it is.
@@MuzzyBarker I didn’t say they were impressed with her, and I don’t necessarily think they are. I’m pointing out that the women are not as dismissive as the men, and they understand there’s apparently more to this silver-haired stranger than meets the eye. They are much less flippant.
It’s fiction, if this was real a civilization like the Dothraki would never thrive, don’t get me wrong they would be strong in smaller groups but a group this big and powerful without any real military/political leadership aside from thought street fighters would get absolutely destroyed against a real regimented military they would be actively hunted down by all other lands
It's astounding the actress survived 2 aneurisms and still worked 12 hour days in 90-100 degree heat, and still put that much energy into it. I detest "Dany" but I've got MAD respects for Emilia!!
You detest dany, so why then do you even watch game of thrones, you like dany and don’t like emilia, that is the truth but it was not ok from dany to crucifix the man, i‘ve read that text in the book.
She should have just said "im the wife / widow of Khal Drogo" not wasted time listing off her many names like they mean something to every single person she comes across
@@kitsiewr no. It's because they've worked before. So she tried that strategy again. When it didn't work she sighed like dangit now I gotta come up with a new strategy. She did
I still laugh at a comic strip of Danaerys at a Starbucks and when they ask her name, she goes into the long stream of all her titles and the last cartoon panel is a cup that says, 'Denise' on it. X-D
how do yall seriously say this lol she was only respected because she was the wife of someone important, if she would have been anyone else they would have raped her, how is that civilized?
I really wish Khal Drogo would have lasted until westeros. That would have been a much better catalyst for Daenerys's decent into madness then her friend being kidnapped and beheaded. If she would have watched the mountain kill Drogo on the battle field or something like that it would have been better.
It actually wouuld have been quite bad for her if she did it this way. Sure Dothraki are forbidden to sleep with Khal's widows, but they are also obligated to transport them to Vaes Dothrak, where they are forced to join Dosh Khaleen, which is a sort of Dothraki ruling council. It's quite a prestigious position, but she would not be allowed to leave and rule Mereen or Seven Kingdoms. That's why Daenerys purposefully avoids all the Khalasars in the books.
I think this is the only time in the series, that Queen (or for others King) of the Rhoyner is part of thr titel, the other times is always just were of the andals and the first men
Khal Moro is not "Khal of Dothraki" there is no central authority or national unity in Dothraki. Each tribe/horde has their own independent Khal. And all Dothraki tribes and Khals fighting each other.
Yeah there’s one Khal that leads. When one dies, or is unfit to be a warrior and fight in battles, there becomes a new khal. Their tradition is their leader has to be one of the toughest warriors and if he can’t fight himself, he isn’t worthy to lead.
