Came here to comment just that. Just be doing some editing she gets a great character arc in 4 minutes! Couldn't they at least make one episode about this? Or even half an episode where we could at least see what she actually felt to make that crazy decision?

@@MarvelOfRain I'm pretty sure a big chunk of Dany's arc is slowly getting people to cheer for her all the way until they realize she's gone off the deep end.

Death is but a slight detail in game of thrones anyway.

You do know that even if the writing had been supperb and not rushed, if they had taken 2 seasons for the night king and the final clash with Cersei, this would still have been the final outcome right? So if you mean by lazy writing that the process was rushed, I half agree with you (as that writing did not kill her character. She is still a great character, just with a rushed final arc). If you mean by Lazy wring that you feel her character was turned into something she was not (which many people seem to complain about) then I disagree with you as Dany was always (very clearly and obviously from my point of view, I saw this comming since s3 and was amazed how many people where still rooting for her and ignoring and downplaying the horrible methods and dangerous things she was saying..)going to go this way. Better yet, she always has been this way. It's just usualy her attention is turned to people very easy to hate. That didn't make her methods and dangerous way of speaking about herself any less problematic.. but people didn't care because bad men died. Thats the point of her character. To confront people with how dangerous it is, and how easy, to root for somebody charismatic, good looking, with good ideals, and justice like end results DESPITE the methods they use. Despite the way they talk about themselves... if you lose track of the horrible things they do, downplay them, ignore the horrible methods they use, how they get drunk of power and start talking in god complex like ways even if that god complex is in a I will save everyone and the world will be beautifull sort of way, all because so far you like what they acomplished, your ignoring how dangerous a person really is. And if you where to support a person like that in real life, you very well could be in the process of creating a dictator. History has proven this, it has happend time and time again. Dany is a warning in this, a lesson for people to take to heart. So don't ignore the fact if/when you got it wrong with Dany. Learn from it, and be gratefull for the amazing thought provoking character she is and how she helped you grow as a person by learning how NOT to follow people like her. Always ALWAYS pay attention to the methods (not only the end results), and a person's state of mind (not just how inspiring they sound when they say things that hit you right in the heart). When people start talking as if they are Justice, as if they have all the answers, regardless of what else they say, regardless of how beautifull and amazing such a person sounds, be warry of them. No good can come from any leader who thinks he/she is the answer to everything. No good can come from a leader who is willing and able to commit to horrible methods and acts (burning people, putting them crosses, and other ''symbolic'' deaths) regardless of who the victems are. It's not about if her victems deserved it. Making the world a better place is not about revange.

yup imagine seeing her falling slowly into madness.... well i guess now you have imagine cos they rushed the show or simply couldn't come up whit anything better than this....

Obviously its a shame this season was rushed, but really she never abandoned her ideals, even to the moment of the massacre, that's kind of the point about madness that martin always wanted to make I think. She was never really a queen of mercy, even if she thought she was.

She jumped from one position to an extreme, it was a shock value moment but there was no basis for it, there wasn't an indication that her character developed into this point - she states mercy one episode and the next she looks flusteref and burns those people. She was mercilesd with her enemied but never with innocents, this huge change from one side to an extreme just feels empty.

She could've just flown over to the keep as soon as she destroyed the ballistas, and just killed cersei

Can’t wait for the books to come out and Dany still have a sudden turn to madness. Then “fans” will hate George even though it was always intended. GoT has taught us that good isn’t always good and bad isn’t always bad. Good people do horrible things for themselves and for their destiny. It was her throne by right and with fire and blood she took it. Westeros ppl were not her people. They were her subjects and her subjects needed to fear her. I get the rushed feeling, but I’m not surprised by her outcome or her turn. It was only a matter of time for the one character with the massive army and death bringing dragon to become a monster.

He never said he didn't wanted to have any children. I'm pretty sure he wanted some with Dany back in season 7, but this plot line went into dumpster along with everything else.

Well..she is the reason why I've been watching this show,and to be completely honest she is literally the reason why I'm still alive :'D that must really sound stupid to you but I looked up to her a lot,she has been a symbol of hope for me But the pain changed her and drove her insane. She didn't deserve to be the mad queen and to see her die like that,like she was nothing..my heart can't accept this,I feel so awful. Not because she died,everyone has to die,just..the way it happened T.T
