This song speaks of falling irrevocably, unconditionally, head over heels do no wrong in love with yourself. It's an incredibly spiritual song, full of beauty. The angel eye is the way you see things when you reach this utterly unified enlightened state. The land of love. The third verse speaks of recognising you, as that love, as everything. No longer under the illusion of separation, you recognise you are everything. You are the light behind the clouds. You are the end and the beginning, a place where time is not allowed. This references back to the first verse, which speaks of finding your 'song' - which can be interpreted as purpose, truth, essence, Self et al, and how it was here before sound itself. Didn’t start listening to Daft Punk until a year ago. Didn’t start listening to vinyl until I got my first Daft Punk album on vinyl. Didn’t listen to Beyond until I listened to R.A.M on vinyl. Didn’t know the true meaning of life until I listened to Beyond.

This album will forever be the soundtrack to Path of Exile for me. So many nights listening to it over and over again while grinding in 2013.

The drumming on this song is on pair with Giorgio By Moroder. This is one of my favorites tracks of the album.

This song has the deepest lyrics I have EVER heard. You really have to listen to this at least three times to get the message from the lyrics. This proves that Thomas and Guy-Man are not only geniuses musically but also lyrically.

Random Access Memories is the musical version of the Kinder Surprise Egg: a) It has the catchy, radio-friendly songs that somewhat are more bearable than anything else on the radio - The chocolate covering. b) But, the more artistic, non-single tracks such as "Touch", "Beyond", "Contact"- are the toy inside.

The pedal steel and lap steel guitars provide such smoothness and melody that it takes you to the stratosphere with peace and tranquility. This is out of the world experience! Such a beautiful song. What an album! Truly deserved the various Grammies it received.

I cannot explain how connected I feel to this song. Shame that I just discovered it.

I was in a coma for two months. I saw 'places unseen'. I saw the end of this world, as well as it's new beginning. I lived as three different 70-year-old men, homeless and walking around the city center. I saw myself on a gurney surrounded by women, after a fire-drill in a building downtown that's just now, five years later, being built! This song; "a journey of the soul" touches me deeply. I hung onto life while bouncing from these various experiences...the description in the lyrics is spot-on! I couldn't have written a better lyric for my time there, myself!

What can push a person to dislike this devine music?

Amazing how 2 robots can impart such deep emotions through Music, their only way of expressing themselves.

I feel like this song especially, but this whole album is so much a reflection of their life and journey. It brings to mind seeing an old musician, loved by all, but matured beyond the rave and craze that they loved and perfected. You find them in an lounge, holding the instruments they have loved, caressing beauty from their battered forms. They play one or two of the old favorites, showing that they still have that fire inside them, but this time they entice the room to join in the melody and bring them closer to the music. Around these moments, they take that same skill and fervor and mold it into a groove that is still distinctly theirs, but less wildfire and more fireplace. It is a warm feeling as they pour out the lessons they have learned and do that thing that they love one more time.

Close your eyes....and.....rise!!!!! To a world of untold beauty and grace,where YOU are in control and your heart leads you to places never seen . Spring 2013... Out of high school, almost yesterday. Second semester as a CS freshman. There is a great life ahead, supposedly. I just need to reach and take it. Smiling... Listening to this album, looking at the horizon. Closing my eyes. Then opening and here I am, the bitter reality of 2024.

I remember buying this album at Santa Barbara,CA as a interchange student in 2014, best choice of my life.

The opening to this song is one of my favorites. I still hum it a decade later and it's not like I listen to these songs regularly. They just sit in my mind. The initial impact was huge.

I was lucky to know Daft Punk through this album and then go on to thoroughly enjoy all of their other stuff including Human After All and Alive 2007, and that really gave me the chance to listen to this album all over again for a second time. Knowing their other music gives a much deeper idea of its conception
