Never thought you would see a full band custom of this one did you? =P
Please note this is a old build and the drum chart has been fixed heavily in the CON compared to what is showed here.

So yeah, the Discovery album got some massive nostalgia value to me and I decided I wanted to do a custom song from it. First I thought about doing One More Time because it's my favorite musically, but I thought it wouldn't translate to well gameplay wise. Then I re-listened to this one and though "dat vocals, this needs to be charted" and here we are lol
The chart got all instruments, difficulties, OD, practice sections and venue authored

I considered it, but since the guitar was actively playing stuff during it I decided to not do it since it's technically autotuned vocals, while I did chart the first solo due to a lack of guitar notes there.

I'd love to see someone attempt to sing 2:38 and 3:21. Those parts seem almost impossible to replicate with a real life voice without some insane vocal control and range.

Thanks! And actually, yes all the notes are in the MIDI lol. Remember, it's the game engine itself that contains the graphics, animations, etc. and the MIDI is basically what controls what things the game engine should produce via MIDI notes and events. Basically the MIDI chart is programed codes for the game engine to read.

Rock band 4 totally got rid of the pro guitars and the keyboard! :/ And online multiplayer is gone too. So many good features aren't on the new one.

+Wolfy Nothing wrong with being someone's sister with diabetes, tons of things wrong with acting like a mix of EA and Konami and releasing a stripped down shell of a game without even having the courtesy to admit it being an early access game though

Happy you enjoy it! And yeah I planed on perhaps doing more someday, at first I wanted to do One More Time due to the vox but the instruments would have been boring obviously, but we will see what happens

Thanks! There is a MIDI file in the description and various guides around the web (ScoreHero etc.) on how to import it into your game. If you don't have RB3 on Xbox you can also use it for FoFiX/Frets on Fire/Phase Shift

The MIDI is downloadable from the description, from there you can find guides on Scorehero on how to compile it with Magma and the steps after that

Yep probably Modio then, I heard it had some problems as of lately. I know I saw a alternate tutorial on SH once that used a completely different program to inject the CON so that should work.

Oh it's quite easy. Just download the programs Reaper (or any other sound and MIDI editing programs) and the Magma program from the creators sites. Line up a MP3 of the song to the MIDI in Reaper, export the MP3 as a high quality WAV file, put it into Magma and fill the other tracks with a silent sound file, and the RB3.con stuff is all in guides on ScoreHero. It sounds more complicated than it is.

I might just do that because I am getting tired of explaining it over and over again in text form lol. Until then, import your song file with the MIDI into Reaper, sync the song up to the MIDI notes, export the song as a 44.1khz Stereo WAV file, import it into Magma as the TRKS track (filling the other tracks with silent files and the Dryvox one with any 16kzh Mono WAV file) and build the RBA. Then use that RB3 Maker program to convert it to CON and then import it.

No, I never upload audio files of songs that can get me into legal trouble. Sorry. I recommend either buying the song itself or even the entire album and then ripping the audio if it, that way you get the best audio quality and a lot of other awesome songs as well.

Yep, I put the RBA in it's own folder. Copied the CON onto my flashdrive with Modio, copied the file over from flash drive to harddrive on Xbox dashboard. So the song is listed in game (and you can hear the preview and everything), just kicks me out when I start to play it. Not sure what I missed

Well I never heard either song and making customs is a pretty big job so I am afraid it's not really a big chance I will do either. Sorry. You could always check if anyone did any Metric customs on ScoreHero, Frets on Fire or Phase Shift on their respective forums/sites.

One thing you could try is the free PC fan game called Phase Shift, it's not as good as the actual thing as it lacks vocals and background animations but you can play this and any other custom songs with a Phase Shift version on it, and it's also possible to play it with a normal computer keyboard

Sorry but no. I rather keep myself out of possible legal trouble related to sharing files containing high quality WAV files of songs I don't own. Just put the MIDI and a MP3 of the song into Reaper, sync the MP3 up to the MIDI, export the song as a WAV file, but everything into Magma and it should work fine from there.

Download the MIDI, take your MP3 of the song and sync it up to the MIDI in Reaper, export the now synced MP3 as a OGG file named "guitar", put all the files in a folder inside your /songs folders and copy a song.configuration file from another song and just change the info to match of the song. As I mentioned before I won't be uploading any sound files I don't own the rights to, sorry

Well I just downloaded about 10 different programs! So I did what you said, exported to WAV, inserted the wav file for all tracks in Magma along with your song midi, compiled it to RBA, used RB3 Maker to convert to Con, got in game with Modio.. and the song doesn't work. I get the error "The song data you were accessing has become unavailable, and the game cannot proceed without it. Your game session has restarted." I can preview the song from the song list too.. Never happened before w/customs

What the... huh, that is odd indeed. Did you put the RBA in it's own folder when converting it to a CON file? When you select the folder where the RBA is in it will pack everything in that folder into the CON file, so you need to only have the RBA in it's own folder. Also I think Modio have stopped working so see if there is a different program you can use instead in one of the guides on SH.

Some of the drum part is wrong but other than that good job. To be specific, at 0:27 it would be more fun if the background hi-hat was included (even if its technically impossible but you could make it not impossible lol) Also at 2:43 the bass drum hit is on the & of 4, not the e, if that makes sense haha. The bass drum being on the & thing happens every 8 bars Sorry if I seem obnoxious I'm just kind of OCD when it comes to music, especially Daft Punk lol. And I only know the drum part because I made a cover using the original samples a while back of some songs off of the Discovery album. (I didn't post it to RU-vid because I was stupid and now the files are lost on my old computer lol. But you can find videos on RU-vid of other people doing the same thing)

Will Bothwell they are doing them for ps3 users but its more complicated like once you pause a song u can't resume it from what i have heard, they will release them all eventually just have to be patient but there are some tracks u can download, just for me I've always had it on xbox 360 and thats where all the content is, go google and type c3 custom creators I'm not going to post a link for obvious reasons and they have written instruction on how to hack the game on ps3 just obviously I've not followed it in too much depth

They span all the available octaves in the engine, they go all over the place (often between octaves in the same vocal phrase), there is a literal vocal solo with 16th triplets, and on top of everything the solo vocals are even harder because it doesn't have the legroom of the back and forths and you have to sing everything by yourself
