Official full install guide here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ypaljBFwr4o.html In a nutshell to get this working it boils down to these steps. 1.Download Daggerfall setup files from UESP 2.Download Daggerfall unity v1.1.1 from Interkarmas website. 3.Download Vortex from nexus mods 4.Install Daggerfall (full Install) 5.Unzip the DFU files into a new folder (this is going to be the folder the game runs from so create this folder in a place thats easy to remember as you will need to access this area in the future) {I personally call this folder DFU 1.1.1 Portable} 6.Open where you installed the Daggerfall Original game and look for a folder called area2 7.Move the arena2 folder inside DFU1.1.1 Portable\DaggerfallUnity_Data\StreamingAssets\GameFiles 8.You no longer need the original daggerfall installation so that can be removed everything else works from inside the DFU 1.1.1 Portable folder. 9.Inside your DFU 1.1.1 Portable folder create a new text document by right clicking inside that folder and name this text file Portable 10.Save that file and run the game (this makes the game portable so everything you need to run the game is inside this folder) 11. Now for Mods Your gonna need a account with Nexus to download anything so start there. 12.You can download each mod you want manually and drop them in the correct folders and sort your load order youself. This sounds difficult but may be a good option for some. OR install vortex spend a few bucks for premium and let it install everything for you. 13.After letting the collection install follow the instructions at the tips section at the end of this video for help with load order and presets for mods. 14.Inside your DFU1.1.1 Portable\DaggerfallUnity_Data\StreamingAssets directory there should be a DREAM Installation & Setup guide follow the instructions inside as this is important for getting the best graphic settings. 15.Run the game and check the mods and settings and pretty much enjoy Daggerfall or DaRKerfall. Again this is a nutshell but pretty much covers the full install if you run into any problems check the link above for the official full install guide.
I dont have this modpack, but i have the enemy hordes mod from it and its so much fun. Late game, when you're running into a lot of liches, crypts will be filled with an actual army of skeletons accompanying the liches. I swear there were over 100 of them in a large room, and blowing up tons of them with fireballs is insanely satisfying. Orsinium is also affected. It really feels like youre invading an orc stronghold. You can expect to fight 20 orcs at a time in some places.
I just started playing Daggerfall yesterday because I wanted to try an rpg game with retro graphics that offers real and huge role playing. I wanna play, I wanna make my own adventure, and man, I was stonned just by creating a characters. It was like a little adventure, the creating system really had a sould. Man, I can't imagine what adventures I'm going to experience with those amazing mods. I'm going to install everything that can make Daggerfall more lively and deep. The modders are going to make a new whole platform, just like in the case of Doom, because you can now play lots of amazing mods in Doom. I hope that this game will get a game that can become a new lifestyle...
I was just waiting for this! I used to do the same with Oblivion and Skyrim (i founded STEP), and now i'm finally taking advantage of the work of others and... just play
Excellent production. Really appreciate the tips on some mod content that I knew existed but was somewhat intimidated to try out, as well as the work to assist in installation. I'm going to try your modlist on my next playthrough. Keep it up!
Thanks hope you like it. Keep an eye out for updates as I just pushed one the other day adding an optional mod Climates and Calories and a new paper climates travel map.
For anyone who's never played Daggerfall but has experienced other games in the series I feel like mods are almost necessary. The vanilla experience is definitely worth a try but once you experience Daggerfall with mods there is almost no going back. Thanks for checking out the video and I hope you give one of my mod collections a try.
Game old as time itself (okay, I´m exaggerating) and still recieving such attention! I´ve played Daggerfall some time ago and I can tell you, it´s still fun as heck! I might give it a whirl again with this mod list! Thanks :)
I installed this yesterday but I'm having trouble seeing that darker lighting. I'm using the advanced settings recommended in the DREAM pdf, should I instead have those sliders lower? If not, which mod(s) is responsible for everything to be dark like that, maybe it didn't install properly? Everything else is great, thank you very much!
Did you load the presets for the mods? Should be some presets for a number of mods such as improved interior lighting, and better Ambience. Load the DaRKerfall presets if you see them available. Use the DREAM presets if there are no DaRKerfall ones available
@@TheServerSupreme For some reason the presets are there but don't change anything when I switch between them. I just brute forced the problem today by going into each preset file and manually changing the values in game for each one, using your presets where available. This resolved it, looks great 👍
Do you know if 'Uncanny's Always Hit' mod makes the Dodging skill useless or just less damage received? Contrarily, I assume it would make a skill like Backstabbing and Critical Strike cause more damage? I've been looking at the daggerfall unity/bible but am unsure. Thanks
The way this works is a dodge or a miss still will count for 1 damage. This also applies to creatures immune to iron steel and other low quality materials. Even though they are immune they still will take 1 damage per hit. Hope this helps.
I've installed convenient clocks with the DREAM patch, but it doesn't seem to be working. I installed it through vortex but it's no showing up when the game is running in the mods section. Any ideas. Btw, nice collection.
It's possible the mod wasn't packaged correctly. This can cause the .dfmod file to be placed outside the mods folder in your daggerfall installation directory.
Sounds like something could have went wrong in your installation process. Or could be an issue of load order for mods. I've been working on a full install guide to help but it still needs a bit more work before its ready,
@@TheServerSupreme I found the culprit. The 3d Animals mod has some optional texture files. When those are enabled the game won't load saves for whatever reason. The main mod still works fine.
@@lordramuel1082 Thanks for providing the fix many times people find a fix but never share it. @TheServerSupreme Also thanks for the modpack Supreme has everything i need. I plan to add these mods myself ontop: Drafty Secret Doors, Environmental Ambience, Lycanthropy Rebalance, Wilderness Overhaul (seems to work together with World of Daggerfall) and Races Framework Redone (so i can play as Orc!) and to finish it off Useful Console Commands. Got all of em at Nexus thought i'd share it with you.
Love the pack man! Does this have controller support by any chance? Also, if I like the dice roll mechanic of Morrowind for hitting objects, which mods should I disable?
@@prince.drakonas it's a rather large collection so I didn't want to add to many new mechanics but it's something I will test. I want to get more feedback before I start pushing updates. I also want to talk to some of the mod authors about bugs I've found in certain mods like missing textures or a certain mages guild that is acting like a red lantern guild to see if I can get them addressed and fixed for future updates. If anything I'll start a post focused on bugs and request there. Daggerfall is huge we need a lot of eyes and ears out there.
The jail shown in the video is just inside one of the castles. Having jails you can escape from would be pretty cool but I don't think there is a mod for that yet.
In the past I experienced a game breaking bug where if I leave a dungeon, it would cause my character to fall through the terrain and I couldn’t fast travel out. Might have been caused by one of the travel mods. Is this still an issue?
I haven't run into this issue with either of my mod collections. I spent a lot of time to make sure all mods in my collection are compatible with each other. As of right now no game breaking bugs have been reported and the collection has been active for a few months now.
Don't be sorry I'm here to help! Open Daggerfall unity and go to the Advanced tab. Then at the top click Enhancements. On the left you should see lighting. Dungeon ambient light is set to 1.0 Night ambient light is set to 0.3 And Player torch light is set to 0.7 Hope this helps!
@@TheServerSupreme That did it. Thanks. I suppose there's no way to reduce the sort of halo-ambient light that surrounds the player when you're in complete dark without a torch?
@@kennypooser make sure you have torches set as a useable item in those menus. That makes it only have light when a torch candle or lantern is equipped.
@@TheServerSupreme I've been getting a BSOD lately, "Who Crashed" says it's a software issue. I vaguely recall reading something about that maybe in the install instructions, any ideas? Thanks
This is perfection man how do I get this downloaded mods are so complicated to me I'm getting the base game right now do I need to download like hundreds of mods and all that or how's it work?
Working on a guide right now going over everything you need to know. Setup is around 30-60min. Its faster if you have a premium vortex account as I use about 100 mods from graphics to gameplay mechanics.
Yo can you please post your load order somewhere dawgy? How do I know if the file you included actually changed the load order correctly if I don't have anything to reference. The load order is different from when I installed everything but still no way to be sure it matches yours
@@TheServerSupreme Hey man still waiting on the load order upload, been checking here and the nexus page. Looking forward to playing it without any issues but right now it seems my load order must not match yours because I'm running into various problems.
Not really, I have links to everything you need to play below. Everything installs pretty simple. 1. Install original daggerfall game from uesp I use the DaggerfallSetup-3.0.1.zip 2. Download Daggerfall Unity[DFU] from the interkarma link. Scroll down till you see Unity release 1.0.0. Click the arrow next to the assets menu and select your installer (most likely the windows-64bit version) 3.Run the installer for DFU and your ready to play. 4. For mods you can download individual packages from nexus mods and drag and drop to install them or use a mod manager like vortex to do the work for you. 5.Sort your load order. If you download my collection. I included a file that will sort the mods for you. Then your pretty much ready to go.
You might have to turn off uncannys always hit to get that to work properly. But otherwise I think it should be OK. You might also have to not use the new weapons and armor from roleplay and realism.
I was able to find one potential issue so far with the local map missing buttons needed to do things like zoom or rotate the map. Is this the result of mod conflicts, or was this intentional?
Those buttons are intentionally missing from the mod author so its not a bug or a glitch. The buttons still work but are not illustrated. You can use the scroll wheel to zoom, right click and hold to rotate and left click and hold to drag the map. There are other UI's that can be used but for me I think this is the most tasteful out of all the options.
@@TheServerSupreme I had a feeling that might have been the case, just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue from list installation. I play with a controller anyway, so it's not a problem.
6:39 Does usage of the dirty tricks train associated with them skills, such as pickpocket? Answering my own question it seems you do: so if you attempt to blind you train pickpocker, if you chocking door you train lockpick.
@@TheServerSupreme same with me. Im glad to see they hit their main goal and are reaching for some of the stretch goals. Grabbed adventure level so atleadt I can try early access. Cant wait to explore the world they are creating.
Petsistent dungeons is neat, but doesn't totally work. If you recall/teleport in or out of dungeons, it can mess up some things. I once teleported out of a dungeon and later went back to it. The enemies inside were warping, changing in size, some were stuck in the ground and walls etc...
@@TheServerSupreme If its the persistent dungeon mod that you have to get from the forums instead of the Nexus, then I think its mentioned that recalling in/out of dungeons isn't supported in the post. With me, it happened when I recalled out (from the dungeon to a town), then decided to go back to the dungeon by fast travelling back. Everything still functioned, its just that the enemies inside were weird, some were miniature in size, some were running around with half their body in the ground, one bat kept expanding and contracting in size like an accordion... It was pretty funny nonetheless :D
@@TheServerSupreme Thanks man, ngl i been visitng your channel for like a month straight checking to see if my sub feed didnt update for that video lol
@@Andreskiller1 I'm trying to get it finished today before I go to work if I can't have it up by 5pm today (Its about 2pm now) it will be up tomorrow. I'm litterelly working on the chapters in the video description as I reply to this. 🤣
Something is up with nexus I guess. I clicked on revision 2 6 gigs...and it just takes me back to that same page. I'd like to try the mod though...looks spooky lol
@@TheServerSupreme Oh, I guess I won't be downloading it... bummer.... I don't want vortex...I use MO2 as it works without an internet connection. I play all of my games on an offline PC...
@@galimirnund6543 You don't need MO2 or Vortex you could technically just download the files and drag and drop them to there proper folders thats how I originally built the collection. And with DFU 1.1.1 you can make it portable so fully modded with everything you need to play.
yes just go to the horrible hordes mods in the mod menu and disable it, or Adjust it to your preference as it has easy, normal, hard or level scaled options as well.
Ive ben asking for a total mod pack .this is great hopeifly it keeps updating with the best mods for immersion and gameplay also i dislike the houses interiors in some and outside house textures wish tht got changed and the paper ui mod was in there along wit the paper map
Ill check out those mods and see if I can add them as optional features in some way. Some textures are still being worked on so you may notice a few low resolution items here and there but as they update so will my collection.
Did you render this video in widescreen? The aspect ratio is way off. You'll render your video faster in 16:9 and it will look more natural on youtube. The content was good though.
@@TheServerSupreme It looks really bad on a standard resolution screen, like I'm watching your video with a phone flipped on its side. Use DaVinci Resolve to render your video in 1080p 16:9 and that would greatly increase viewer retention. It might sound like a downgrade to reduce your resolution but consider that you're playing old-school RPGs. You're putting lipstick on a pig and it looks like shit. If you click on any other video in your recommended feed it will be displayed in standard resolution 16:9 bc that's just what viewers are accustomed to. I feel like I'm watching a letterboxed Imax super wide on a 4:3 crt box set; it's uncanny.
its pretty easy to do with just vortex.... probably even easier once there is an actual installation guide... Wabbajack is amazing but I think Vortex was almost as good when I installed the list
Kinda resent the visual direction... Daggerfall looks far better when you embrace the pixels and make it look like a blasted out indie game rather than making it look like a cheap Unity game Also to-hit rolls are replaced by Oblivion style damage sponges, great. Whoopee.
I also have a retro build in the works, so maybe that will be more your style. I did a poll and most people voted for the full overhaul rather than a retro version so I went that direction. But most features are modular in my collection so you can still use the vanilla mechanics if you desire them. Just disable the uncannys always hit mod in the mod menu.
Also as a note, Dream updates the visuals, but you can then use the built in retro-mode to make a modern retro fusion. Especially with newer monitors, this means you get the best of both worlds, with updated sprites and scenery, but you can turn on paletization and 4:3 to create the original visual style while still keeping the hd assets. It makes it a vanilla plus build. Using all the built in shaders like fov and motion blur in retro mode makes it a totally new experience.
@@ghost-user559 Thanks for the information. I'm not too keen on the Dream look, and prefer the more retro pixelated style, but the 3D assets etc. are a nice thing to have. I'm glad there's a way to mix those.
@@KubinWielki yeah I tried fully original textures and the text and everything was too hard to see on my monitor, then I tried Dream and it looked like a brand new game and lost its charm. Simple 3d trees and animals, and then Dream, with Retro mode and paletization on, makes it look clear and crisp so text is clean, and the us is clear, but it adds just enough noise to bring back the atmosphere of the original.
