Wow! A Japanese guy singing 'Dahil Sa "yo!' (a filipino/tagalog song)! Amazing! :) Now, the instrumentation is even touchingly amazing, too!

He is Philipino but not Japanese. He had a big band in Japan and played there for long time. He was very famous there in Japan.

@@christiansalas1134 his name is Raymond Conte, born in the Philippines and came to Japan started singing since March 1922 with his two elder brothers. He’s basically grown up in Japan, went to a Japanese university and married a Japanese wife. He was a famous Jazz singer in Japan at that moment in life. He passed away in December 23, 2003 in Suginami ward, Tokyo age 87 years old. Lovely musician 🎶 RIP

This song is originally a Philippino song. As many hawaian band play this song in Japan, people think it's a Hawaian song. Still, it's a very good performance (^^)

随分むかし田村町に有りましたナイトクラブ　マヌエラで聴きました。少し不良少年だった私は兄の背広をこっそりと着てテーブルに行かずバーカウンターでビールを飲んでダヒルサヨを聴きました。懐かしい想い出です。

Please do proper research before sharing something as to not misinform people. This is a Filipino kundiman(native love song genre) song and im disappointed to see someone ignorant in the comment spreading wrong information about the original lyrics of the song. It was created by Mike Velarde for the film "Bituing Marikit". Anyways beautiful performance❤
