is there a way to short out certain pins to force a reset orfactory default of the camera from the ethernet jack? I keep reading on forums that when you update the firmware you need to do a complete factory default of the camera. sometimes the camera locks up and you have to climb a roof to reset a camera, this isn't practical, especially when the camera site is 40 minutes away.
Hi. Resetting by shorting the Ethernet is not a option I’m afraid. However other options are XML resetting. This process just requires a email to our Support Department and a separate network switch unless already on one. On a side note, for sure by the book you should Factory Default after a upgrade however unless it was a big jump like from 2018 to 2021 a factory default is not always necessary.
@@DahuaUKIreland Okay because I have a problem with the replay on two cameras after the firmware update. No motion detection is displayed in the replay. Should I reset the cameras after the update?
This is not user friendly. I know many other brands that make the resetting of the camera easy and very user friendly. I don't understand why you should make it so difficult to access the camera and to reset it.
