A folk song from Rajasthan - a woman remembering her youth, and time spent in the abundant, fruit-laden gardens of her parents home. Kejri, jal, kair, ojh are some of the trees and shrubs mentioned in this song, and are species commonly found in this desert region of India. The plants bloom seasonally and their flowers, berries and ripened fruit are used for cooking local delicacies such as kair sangri, or eaten raw, as the red 'paca'.
Recorded May 15, 2012 at Lakhaji's home in Raneri, Rajasthan, India. An Amarrass Records Production.
