This is my first time teaching this song, a very popular Zimbabwean song sung in the Shona language. It would be very rare to not hear this song sung in funerals & churches in Zimbabwe. I am not a religious person but these are songs that many of us grow up listening to as Zimbabwe has over 90% of its population being Christian so, there’s no way one can get away with not knowing them.
I closed my eyes at one point while I was singing and I could picture the streets of Njube on a Sunday and this song playing on full blast, neighbours from across the street playing it on their speakers.
