what I love about car videos and car channels it's all positivty and escapism, no politics, no religion, no disaster porn. I have been watching a few videos on feminism, wokism, andrew tate, mgtow etc and my feed has been sending me more and more depressing videos. I've rediscovered my passion for cars and I've now been fed quite a few streams of videos about cars and it's really lifted my mood.

Viewer from across the pond. I stumbled across this from a RU-vid recommendation. Good for that aren't they. Glad they did. One of the best builds I've seen. I tinker with small upgrades like all other folk do . But this took engineering to another level. Loved it. I learnt so much sh*t that I still am not capable of doing but the learning still helps me understand so thanks for that. Great watch and subscribed to watch more.

At 35.45 to 37 you were asking about the cable ties in the bed my immediate thought was for pool Noodle! For a bumper effect so boxes that slide around won't scratch the the paint or mess up the box itself. Just a thought.... love your show!

Perhaps the cable ties were used when a rope was used to tie down something. Easier than getting the rope through the loops than the bar? Love your show guys. Sending love from Namibia. Greetings from here in the states love your show, I've been in love with Daihatsu, since I've seen one as a kid , I've always had this idea of using one in an RV "garage" part of a larger vehicle what you would call a caravan I guess with an easy nifty way of carrying and storing it,, to avoid losing some hair, I would have just imported that whole lay flat Daihatsu tanto engine with the turbo, but that wouldn't be as enjoyable as all that alumineium grinding, they really bust your balls over here with that carry-on luggage limit..😅

you may not realize this but the most impressive part, Marty can weld aluminum. to weld that leak free while under boost pressure without leaks (assuming). The dudes a real welder. Respect.

1:50:37 HAHA when I finally figure out the culprit after weeks of diagnosing, I also chuck the part across my neighborhood. The worst one's are when the part is still working, but just barely so it makes you question other things and then you're wasting time checking fitments, tolerances, even checking the wire harness as a last resort lol.

We lay the engines in our USAC midgets (speed cars in Australia) to get the center of gravity and left side weight bias. But we also run dry sump oil systems.

Diff lash is fairly easy. Put white lithium grease on the front and back of a ring gear tooth, put a little friction on the ring gear with your hand while turning the pinion till it goes 360, and then go backwards. make sure the grease is gone from the middle of both sides of the ring gear tooth. Is it is too much to 1 side or the other, move shims on either side of the diff till you center the pattern on the ring gear tooth.

I have seen a Summer Winter selector before. I can't remember if it was on a light aircraft like a Piper Warrior or Decathlon or an old car. In winter mode, it pulled some hot air from a shroud around the exhaust manifold. It obviously reduced performance but I think it prevented carb icing in very cold conditions.

That rear differential is very similar to the Toyota setups, also similar to the Ford 9in, just did one in a 4Runner that had a slow leak and no one ever checked it, once it ran out of oil the pinion bearings locked up

The shims you made for the bearings in the diff should have been the size of the inner race, the outer edges are going to get ground on, but this is still awesome!

Love the long edit, although I did already follow along. Bit disappointed we didn't get to hear it being hammered around though, as lovely as the music over the top was. Are we gonna get to see and hear it a bit more? Maybe around the track again for comparison after all its mods? I get you guys may well have had enough of it for a bit but I'd love to see some more of it again soon 😉

I couldn't bring myself to drill into tailgate and sides , I went with push down buckle clips around the top ridge, easier to drill and a clean finish .

Note for future MCM... A Hayabusa 1.3lt might fit into that... 200 odd hp would be kind of fun, but you'd probably need a lsd Hilux diff and work out reverse gear...

you might want to search for a manual for 1985-1992 mini van (looks like a mini version of a Misubushi L300) , this be closest thing which came in 650-1000cc engines for a physical manual I wpi;d talk to your local daihatsu dealer and see if they have a english manual for the motors manual, i would check to see if there is a 4x4 option, you might struggle with powering off a 650cc motor you may need need between 850-1200 cc noting until you dismount tray and what space you have to work with for a bigger fuel bladder.. Outside of bar work in major cities in Japan this likely would of be sold to farmers realistically if weigh 86kg you only have 55kg if that because max weight ratio would likely be 150kg on enginre capacity alone a turbo may only an extra 50cc of power assuming 1 is not already installed

So i gotta question. I notice you use ryobi stuff and thats cool. They are owned by TTI as their economy brand and I think a bunch of their stuff is great quality to build up your arsenal. TTI also owns Milwaukee and RIDGID. I believe RIDGID is called AEG in australia. This is their mid tier brand but the real reason it sells in the States is the lifetime warranty. Is lifetime warranty a thing in Australia and if so do any power tool companies offer lifetime warranty?
