Even though I’ve done this a few times, I definitely will be watching this again for the two devices I have coming. A great excuse to watch this again 😂
Daijisho is pretty awesome. I've been using it for a while. I love how when you're viewing games in your library it will automatically load a video in the background of that game. This saves a TON of space, as I usually scrape videos to go with my roms on other devices.
As someone new to using front ends on Android portables, I found this very helpful. Especially setting the right emulator so the games will launch. I didn't have to do anything for NES but for some other platforms I was having issues. Thanks for the helpful video!
ha! thanks for the section at 5:34. I' have a new Pocket 2S, and am new to this fiddling around with android, (which may explain my terrible luck emulating on my Galaxy Tab) and this "kill the process" box was downright maddening. I must've accidentally gotten this working on a couple of systems. Now to get emulators to remember my controller layout, that's my next challenge...

Great video Joey! My RG405M is on the way and it's gonna be first Android handheld I have. I'm a bit worried about Android/Daijisho setup progress because in Linux side, most things are already configured. This guide will be very helpful to people like me who got their first Android handheld device.
This's really starting to feel like a community. Cool video. Couldn't have got the thing working without it. BUT.....PS2 bios files - I've got roms, but it's like daijisho won't acknowledge that they're in the file. I've got 8/16 bit and MAME all working fine. It's just ps2 and x68000 I got issues with. Though x68000 recognises that there's games in the file, they just won't launch. Cheers guys.

Thanks for the guide, just leting you know that we can now use the latest Aethersx2 build with Nethersx2. It modifies the latest (and most likely last) aethersx2 build by removing ads, restoring frontend access, etc.
I'm having problems setting up PS1 on Daijisho. My Xenogears Disc 1 and 2 files are in .bin format, but it's not adding it to the PS1 library whenever I sync it. Any ideas?
@@sylentnoise932.chd and .pbp file types only require 1 file instead of 2, so it can cause less confusion for the system. Id recommend searching those up for PS1 roms

Been having player error when launching YabaSanshiro 2 Pro, M64Plus FZ Emulator and Redream, Daijisho detects them, but just can't launch it. Any idea?
Apologies, I forgot to mention that both M64plus and Redream used to work but recently doesn't. I'm not sure which update broke them on Android 13. Would you recommend retroarch instead for N64, Dreamcast and Saturn rather than standalone? Tried retroarch back in 2022 and it could not detect SD card so I gave up and used standalones. @@JoeysRetroHandhelds
Hey Joey. I tried daijisho on a couple devices running into the same problem. Autoload won't work on ps1 (duckstation). Did you run into similar problems? How did you solve them?

There was something I was hoping you had shown and cant figure out and that's some emulators on retroarch don't seem to fill the screen and I cant find the settings for things like resolution and integer scale, can you point me how to access those maybe in game?
Is there a way to add additional new games to a system and only scrape the new media? I spent hours loading manually media for a bunch of games and if i hit synce it'll wipe all those manual syncs

Hey I actually find a problem, when I start a game it shows that this (something) isn't available in your device and when I press continue it will redirect me to playstore of that game's emulator
When i launched game in Daijisho, it just open the emulator and then i must launch game manual in that emulator. How can i launch game straight? Thanks

Anyone else having trouble getting Daijisho to fix or "prettify" the arcade titles? For some reason mine stay mostly abbreviated and I hate it. However, on occasion it seems to work.. for a little while and then stops again. Very frustrating. Any one have any tips for this?
I am using gamma OS and Daijisho on 405m on mgba! I notice them regularly on LOTR Return of the King , this doesn't happen oon my 353m or my miyoo mini...strangely GBA has audio hiccups after my basic setup, very noticeable and mess up the experience, but dreamcast is working super super well without even using a stand-alone. I don't get why I am having trouble with stock gba...
Hi there, I set my phone up with emulators such as dolphin. However, when the emulator starts the game screen flips the wrong wrong (it's wrong because I have a gamesir x2 controller). Any thoughts? I've not been able to find anything about it online.
Nice video. Is there a possibility to save extra settings for only one emulator? My problem is if i play psp games the screen is set 90⁰ clockwise. If i change the setting 8n retrarch by the video output to set 90 instead of normal, psp games a show crrectly but all other emulations are 90⁰ ?😢
Do roms need to be loaded into RetroArch, or just the cores (with the games in the Daijisho library and the core selected)? I keep getting an error when trying to use RetroArch cores, but standalone emulators work fine.
Thanks for the guidance, though with more testing it looks like it's a bug/limitation of RetroArch with Daijisho when using external storage for games as RetroArch can't read the path.
With aethersx2, the killl background processes error pops up and if I hit kill process, it just opens up to the Home Screen of aethersx2, but I click do nothing, then the game launches straight to the ISO and skips the aethersx2 menu, which is what I want when I click the game initially. I can turn off notifications but that forces the close and then takes me just to aethersx2 Home Screen again. Not sure how to fix this, every other platform/emulator loads up fine except aethersx2
I just got my Odin2 in and set up Daijisho, but when I run a game, I keep getting a “player error: unable to find explicit activity class”. I’ve used Daijisho before and never had this problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Anyone know how to rotate screen my games are only showing up vertically on my Samsung s20 using razer kishi v2, plus the razer kishi has no start and select buttons so getting out of games is sort of a pain
Is there a way to sort systems in Daijisho? I am using Daijisho on the RG405m, and was wondering, if there was a way to sort the order of systems? I'd like the systems ordered by age or by name of the system.
again, top video unfortunately I can only subscribe once haha for some reason I don't have a chance to change the home app to daijisho, it automatically switches back to quickstep, when ever exiting, goes always back to quickstep. I have no idea why. Do you think I should delete quickstep? I'm a bit afraid it will mess something up

I basically setup everything according to your guides. :-) When I reasign the standard app for the homebutton it goes 1 time to daijisho, but once I go back to the mainscreen where the app icons are it switches back to quickstep, also pressing the homebutton leads to quickstep, and in the setting once again its quickstep

I love this app but I have trouble with retroarch, the game crash but I already checked the cores and emulator I selected, I am not familiar with retroarch so I dont know if I should do something besides downloading the cores. I also can not log in retroachievements.
Whenever I open a game from Daijisho, it goes to the emulator first and then I open the game from there.. Is there any way I can just open the game straight from Daijisho?
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds Drastic and AetherSX2, so I try to open a DS game from Daijisho and instead of going straight to the game, it goes to the drastic menu first then I choose the game from there, same with AetherSX2
I have Openbor working. Unfortunately using Daijisho doesn't have the option to display it, so you have to use Openbor outside of Daijisho. Annoying as you can't manually add Systems. Tbh though there are only a handful that you will have to use outside of Daijisho anyway.
