A water bottle tip: I cut a hole in the center of a carrot piece and stuck it through the nozzle of the water bottle. My piggies love carrot so they tried to eat it off the water bottle and in doing so they discovered the water bottle and how to use it
A good tip with the water bottle is: 1. Leave the bottle in there for at least a week, to let them get used to it. 2. Then leave a trail of food from the water bottle to their favourite hidy house. 3. You can also reward them with a treat every time they drink from the bottle. Soon enough they should get used to it and you wont need to give treats to them everytime they drink from the bottle.
@@beefa1773 yes guinea pigs should be kept in Pairs but most pet stores say that you should only get one just because most the time people only want one and they won’t buy two so the pet stores just leave that part out also the person might have just spelled it wrong with out an s
Me: *wants to get pet becuz its cute when im like 7 My parents: *LETS DO IT!!* Me years later: *has a genuine interest in guinea pigs and has done research for literally a year and a half* My parents: *dafrik...*
If you want a pet you have to tell them that you don’t just want the guinea pig tell them that you are ready for a pet pal do you’re research around your parents or what ever adult is around that you know and love I’m doing that right now and it’s kinda working so best of luck
Midninght MoonWolf same, although the past few days my dog and guinea pig have been cuddling with me and seem to be getting used to each other, until my piggie has had enough and LETS ME KNOW
My big cat is always sneaking into my room to see him when I leave, my small one doesn't care and my dog aways sniffs him and gets really excited when I bring him downstairs, he loves him. And hopefully soon, I get a second one and I'll see how the other parts treat him!
L U N A you're speaking about one guinea pig, so i just felt like i should tell you that guinea pigs should come in pairs- as theyre very social animals
Tip: Once you clean up their cage you should move things around so then the guinea pigs can explore. They love this! They love exploding and running around
I had to train one of my guineas by hand-feeding him like a baby. I would also use my finger to roll the ball and show him how it worked - it took him about 6 months to learn properly. In the meantime, I used a bowl.
Idk why but seeing her unfold the blankets she folded to clean up makes it satisfying or like relaxed.. anyone else feel like that.. I DONT WANT TO BE THE ONLY ONE 🥺
Water suggestion: (btw i have guinea pigs) It depends on how long you have had them, if a short while like a few months its pretty normal, my guinea pigs did it too. You should have a few different options for bottles, and after a while like a few days or weeks they will start drinking, also ask the shelter you got them from, what bottle they used. If you have had them for around a year, try seeing a vet if they are not drinking at all, sometimes guinea pigs will try to hide pain, and or other problems by acting normal. They will do it as long as they can until they are about to die, have monthly vet check ups to make sure your guineas are healthy. Kind notes, PoppinPopcorn
Aesthetic youre the only comment ive found so far that mentioned multiple guinea pigs and not just one, at least now i know one of her fans has dine research.. lol
A way to make them drink out of a water bottle is put the water bowl right beside it or underneath so that they know where it is also put a tree on the end of the water bottle so that they have the feeling of it
I love this video it is so creative! Your piggies are so cute! I can’t stop watching this video. I try to make my guinea a routine and his name is snickers! Anyways I try to clean his cage everyday when I wake up and I’m been doing that! Just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video!💜
You look after your piggies so well! Great job. They look very happy. One thought - that hay rack is huge and they don’t have access to the new hay. Maybe get a smaller one? Or throw the old hay away each time you refill because piggies love new hay and won’t keep picking at the old stuff
wow, you are a very responsible guinea pig owner. usually guinea pigs only need their cages cleaned weekly but you do it every day! it is so shocking how much time you are willing to spend on your guinea pigs, so good job!
What makes me happy seeing these videos is that I have the same size cage for for little guinea pig and just recently spent my money making sure she was good!
I recently picked up two baby piggies that wouldn’t drink from the bottles. What I did was to use Spring Greens to make sure they stayed hydrated and also Romaine Hearts then little by little I “socialized” them with older piggies and it was the older ones that showed them how to get water from the bottle so, I think it takes an experienced piggie to show the other piggies how to do something new. Two days and the babies were naturally drinking from the metal straws of the drink bottles.
You can try changing the material of the carpet. Since the floor is filthy, you should also wash it. By the way, I envy you for having so many guinea pigs ^^. It looks like you have a garden and are really enjoying it. Thank you for the fun video!
I’m soo happy for u i have 4 and even though u r a complete stranger ( not to be offensive) I can’t wait for u 2 get one but pls get at least 2 coz they are herd animals and even if u r there the whole time it can’t replace another guinea pig
I was just trying to watch your video with my guinea pig and she goes eighth up to the screen and was watching the video intently, it was so cute watching her pay all of her attention to you cleaning the cage.
I will say, I am so GRATEFUL for your video I was considering them for the Kids, they're so cute and gentle and awesome, but I HAD NO IDEA THEY LEAVE 175 TURDS AN HOUR, THATS A DEALBREAKER, BUT I THINK THEYRE ADORABLE, BUT ILL PASS BECAUSE OF THE TURDS. THANKS!! GREAT VIDEO!
Chad Audron coming from a guinea pig owner, it’s quite a bit of upkeep. The hay is rlly messy and I used to keep them in a carpeted room and they sometimes/a lot of the time, would push the hay out of the cage onto the floor and it was a bit annoying cleaning that up. Now the room they’re in isn’t carpeted as I’ve moved but they really do produce a lottttt of waste. You have to clean up daily and if you fall behind the odor can be really really bad. They also can be quite loud depending on the pig 😅 mine squeak at the top of their lungs when they hear ANY plastic being messed with because they think it’s time for food. No matter the time, as in if I accidentally make an odd noise at 4 AM they’re up and squeaking and going 100 mile per hour. Plus, some pigs shed quite a bit, hence why now I only have skinny pigs (hairless ones) lol. Although, I wouldn’t change anything because they’re just the sweetest little things. It takes a while for them to become comfortable with you as they can be a bit scared when u get them because they’re prey animals, but once they begin to trust you it’s the most heartwarming thing. I think they’re amazing pets but they really are a big time and responsibility commitment.
@@neveahaguilar1337 wow, thank you so much for taking the time to tell me all that great info, I'm trully grateful, they are SOOOO cute tho, it may be worth it!!👍
@@chronikki5646 I'm okay with cleaning up, I had 20 different Hamster cages at one time as a kid, (along with brothers and sister.) But I was kidding about how many "droppings" they left. And your right, too many people dont follow thru with caring for the pet, that's sad, even if it was bad, I would still make sure they are loved and looked after. Thanks for your kind message!
I bought 2 guinea pigs and we created a bond because it's just really hard NOT to fall in love with them (they were male & female btw but they were bffs) we always let them out of their enclosure everyday for the whole day and they love to cuddle with me when I'm studying. After a year, the female gave birth to 3 sweet, adorable guinea pigs named Caramel, Biscuits and Taffy. They looked like little hamsters but cuter! Unfortunately, their mother died while giving birth to them, and the dad had no clue on how to raise his three little newborn furballs, but I quickly became their mother and hand-raised them, since the father was very depressed. He didn't give a fig for his children for a week and a half, which is ok because he was probably trying to recover from his wife's death, but then he started recovering and returning to his caring self and struck a fatherly figure on his children. I now have 4 playful guinea pigs who love to dash around, playing and teasing each others. They hate going to sleep, and their fave game is chase - they think they are puppies! lol! I also take them for walks so that they can play in the bushes and trees. I miss their mom sm, but atleast the father recovered and the baby guinea pigs take ME as their mother because they sadly don't know their biological mom but thats ok with them-that doesn't stop or affect them from having a bundle of fun!
I’m really sorry but that is why you don’t keep a male and female pig together unless they are “stopped” from having babies as the males would just crear more untill it’s a mess, how are the babies doing tho?
I know I'm super late 😭 But I LOVE those wooden ledges, in case I can't find out what they are from another video ?? What are those little ledges and houses from/called ?
To get your guinea pigs to drink water out of a bottle you just need to leave the bottle in the cage and refresh if needed. They will eventually become curious and as most animals do, will explore with their mouths. they will then figure out that there is water in the bottle and start to drink.
ok so keep doing what your doing put the water in the bowl. my guinea pigs started drinking water from the water tube at around 10 or 11 weeks we took out the bowel and just left them with the water tube ad they started drinking it that way. I love your guinea pigs there so cute your good owner better then me lol
For the water take the bowl away and only have the water bottle then try to get them in the same area and squeeze the bottle for some water to come out so they know it’s water.
I like how this guinea pig owners care for the piggies and give them space to run around and they get more then one piggy so then it can have a friend You are a good owner 😁😄
My guinea pigs are outside so this is very different from my morning routine all I do is feed them and give them water and once every 4 days I clean their cage 😂
What were the flakes you have the piggies at the start? Also, the herbs, what’s in the mix, did you buy/grow? Apologies, I didn’t understand what you said
Hey hey!! Just a tip! I use a dust pan and instead of a broom I went to the dollar store and got a cat litter scoop and I use that to scrape the hay and poops into the dust pan instead of the broom! I find it works a lot better to scrape it then to rub fabric from the broom onto frantic of the fleece if that makes sense. Great video tho!! I’m so glad to see an piggy owner that takes such great care of their animals 💖💖
It’s ok for them to be outdoor as long as they have somewhere to hide from wind and rain and when it’s hot you can always put a cold water bottle in there but try make sure they don’t chew it
How to get your Guinea pig to drink out of a water bottle: you basically take there water bowl away and just leave the bottle they may get thirsty and then begin a search for water when they find that the bottle is there only source of water they will begin to adapt to the changes
Hi great video😄😀 Are you still going to do the video I request awhile ago? (How to make fleece items without sewing) Btw: your guinea pigs are very lucky, you take really good care of them❤️
Hello, Thank you and I’m so sorry I forgot about that video the problem is that I plan my videos in advance so I would need to plan the video but I could make this video in the future.
A good tip for the water bottle is put some like plastic carrot plastic cucumber whatever your guinea pigs really like and put it in the water leave it there for at least a week I don’t get used to it and maybe they’ll start drinking From it but if that doesn’t work maybe they just prefer the ball but I know it is easier to do in the water bottle
A tip is when you let your guinea pigs outside be careful of birds. Where I live it’s possible for birds to fly down and take the guinea pigs which is why a have a roof for the outside arena (: but good idea with the blankets
yeah i have a 2 story cage for them and they love it they go up and down the stairs at night and all day and they go in there playpen wich they luv it and they have enough attention and playtime and sometimes i will play with them by there self
With my guinea pigs (I have two) in the morning my brother or myself will usually hold them or put them in their carrier while one of us uses a small portable vacuum to clean their cage. This is a really effective way to clean easily and faster except I have to go and pick a few straws of hay up before hand.
You obviously love your guinea pigs and take good care of them. Just a suggestion, maybe give them more than one pea flake each, also maybe give veg twice a day. I give mine veg first thing for breakfast and then again at around 5.
Hello I have also piggies. To water bottle use put some rice in water for some time and put rice back and fill that rice water in bottle they will drink 😊 U can also put big piece of cabbage in bottle
A tip for the water bottle: try and take the bowl out and have just the bottle. They really will only have no choice but to drink from the bottle. U could even try to bring a treat over to the bowl so that they know it's there. Also put it in plain sight. They should drink from it if they r thirsty
Put a small amount of a bit of treat for example some crushed up banana or something else that can make a paste on the water bottle bit where they drink then when they eat the treat water will come out and they will learn that chewing on the end means water.
If you mow your own grass or if your dad mows your grass whatever let it dry out first turn it several times with a rake and make sure it has almost no moisture keep it stocked in a basket that allows airflow or else it will mold and that is your hay in the summer done it with my rabbits for years and they love it more than timothy hay
hello you are amazing and i have a tip maybe take away the bowl of water for 2 weeks see how that goes. i had the exact same problem, make sure every day before you go to school and check the water level. maybe even set up a camera to see if they are using the water bottle
That was a great video. This is my first time watching it and I remember you had asked a way to get your guinea pig to drink from a water bottle. One way is if you can place their food by the water they might get thirsty and try the water out. Usually they recommend to put the food and water and their litter pan if you have one near each other so that way they know that the food the water and the bathroom are all in that vicinity of the cage. Thanks for the cool video.
Maybe put some treat-substance like peanut butter(idk if they can have it but) then with they go to lick the peanut butter they might get water and realize water comes out...
For the water thing try to put it in an area where the are and close to food so they know it’s there teach them by touching when they are close to it and have multiple
