@9:25 when you were chopping your garlic, I wanted to give you some info about the antioxidant benefit of garlic, Allicin.💖 When I went through breast cancer in 2016, I would visit a center for people dealing with cancer where you can take various classes for free. I took a cooking class where they teach you some healthy cooking recipes. One of things they taught us was that garlic was a good antoixidant called Allicin. However, for the antioxidant to become active, first you do what you want with your garlic (mince, dice, grate etc). Then after you do this, you leave it on the side for 10 minutes. Then you can use it for your cooking. They said, you have to cut the garlic however you want, let it sit for 10 minutes (which is important) and this will activate the Allicin. If you for example, crush your garlic and add it to your recipe right away. You will not get the benefit of Allicin at all. Just a thought I wanted to share with you from my breast cancer journey.💖

I couldn't get over how clean the baskets in the store were, totally new and spotless. Here they are quite dirty but I never paid attention to that but now will. I think someone must really clean up those carrying baskets there and the store was super clean looking with food items wrapped.

One serving of almond milk is the equivalent of about three almonds. See if you can make your own by blending a few almonds with water and a pinch of salt, and sugar if you like. You can strain out the flesh if you don't want it, but the fiber is good. Oat milk is easy to make too, by soaking instant oats till soft then blending, then straining out the solids. It's very good for you and delicious!

@qwertyuseradmin 11 месяцев назад
@qwertyuseradmin
@qwertyuseradmin 11 месяцев назад

Watching from California, I am amazed by the prices. Although I'm fortunate that the selection is wide and the cost is low relative to the rest of my country due to growing so much food in our own state, it's still SO much higher than your prices that I'm starstruck! When I visited Japan we noticed low prices of food compared with home, but we thought it was mostly due to being a time of the exchange rate in our favor. And we could not cook while in hotels, of course, so we only saw prepared food prices and didn't notice ingredient cost. Thank you for showing this shopping! Your channel is really lovely!

I live in Texas, and I too was surprised by the low grocery prices in Japan but for a different reason - not because they are lower than here but by the fact that they are almost comparable to American food prices. When I was younger, I remember reading about exorbitant food prices in Japan, so either the Japanese government is doing something right to bring them down, or American food industry mafia have been jacking up our prices because they can, using COVID as an excuse. Everything seems to be much more expensive in California because of the taxes your government has imposed on all sectors of economy to pay for their state's pet projects.

@@NGeo-ci3qj I feel silly. You're absolutely right. Accounting for exchange rate and kg vs lb, these are pretty much exactly the same prices I pay (our sprouts are still a little more expensive, for some reason - probably just a less common ingredient here). Thanks for solving that one for me!

I have learned much about cooking from you. Seeing videos like yours lets us see we have more in common than we have differences. Not being hydrated can cause many issues. Many headaches are from this too. I am glad you are drinking more fluids. I hope you feel better soon also. Thank you so much!

In America, all meds are hard tablets or jell pills. I take them with yogurt instead of water, and that way, I can swallow even 4-5 larger tablets in one go without any problem, plus I don't taste the drugs themselves. You can do the same thing with powder. Mix it in with some fruit yogurt, and I'm sure you'll hardly taste the drug.

Very relaxing and informative videos! I have been eating healthy thus year, somewhat, and intend on taking it to the next level with absolutely no junk food. Watching you prep and prepare something other than chicken and brocoli as Americans do is fantastic. You have me interested in cooking again!!!!

I have some anxiety and sadness issues I’ve been experiencing lately, and watching this video was incredibly soothing to me. I’m definitely going to check out your other videos.

Hello, just started watching and appreciate that you price the items in the store that you bought. I live in Hawaii and it is expensive in comparison. I get dizzy from dehydration, if it is hot, and if I don't consume enough protein. Sometimes I put a packet of electrolytes in my water if I need extra energy. An East Indian doctor online recommended a squeeze of lime or lemon juice in water to help staying hydrated. I hope you feel better soon.

If you buy plastic zip lock bag for marination you put all inside and move from outside with your fingers. Saving on dishes and helps overnight marinade too plus flour dredging works good too 😁

@@iwantalbuquerque7770 Hi....so sorry, I get the feeling of pain and fear from just your few words. Life is not easy for so many today...I'll be 70 in a couple of weeks, I have no friends, birth family left, and a son with aspergers. I guess I was Forced Into Adapt other wise I would have lost my mind...my life became so un manageable because I felt the need to control everything because I was so scared/scars of emotional pain. Just like this channel's growth in 5 months since I posted last, ask your self where you want to be in 5 months from now and figure out a way to do something kind for yourself each day towards that goal. It's not easy to be kind to yourself, took me many years to stop bad mouthing myself....all of this has lead me to a more accepting way of living, a desire to be kind and positive to all I encounter, a few words, a smile. And finally with age, I've had to adapt because I've no control over 'aging body issues'....I wish you well, peace and healing prayers to find your way towards ???? that will bring you Joy In Your Life.💜💜💜

Very good video. So nice to see your daily routine. I have been a cook for over 60 years and have a suggestion. Please do not throw the cooking water from vegetables away. There are good nutrients in the cooking water. Save the vegetable cooking water to make soup. It is very good for you to not pour it down the sink! Good health to you!

Hi Lou, new subscriber here from Sri Lanka. Thanks for taking us on your shopping trip. I enjoyed it very much cause we don't have anything like that here. I really liked the fact you are not scared of showing your face. I cannot understand why so many doing blogs hiding behind the camera. There's one called Nami and I have been watching her channel for sometimes but now bored very much. Every video is same and she eats for 4 people, how she do that is a mystery. I like yours better cause you seems to be very down to earth. About your dizzy problem, check your sugar level immediately. I am born with low pressure problem and whenever it goes down I sweat and become dizzy.
