Japan is very frugal about working. They have very strict working ethics. I have a cousin in Japan and he once told me. People that don't want to work, another one is standing in line waiting for that position. He made it seem like it was easy to let people go. I hope everything will work out for her. Everyone has some struggles going from job to job these days and moving from one place to the other is very stressful. I will keep her in my prayers because Lou is a smart cookie :-) Everything she has accomplished she should be very proud of herself.

not sure why the young think things they want should be their rights - a good job is a privilege and keeping it requires hard work and understanding what’s required of you - time off from work is a privilege and of course your employer should know why you want time off - my father worked 42 yrs for the same company and even with the seniority he had achieved - he had three weeks off each year as well as sick leave / family leave (funerals / emergencies) - there is a time and a place to “stand up for yourself” - being mistreated at work is one of those or having to work overtime without adequate pay is another - taking time off without explaining yourself may not be - changing jobs isn’t about getting something “better” - it may have to be just getting something - praying that the stress and anxiety of being unemployed isn’t worse for Lou than figuring things out with the job she had 🇨🇦🙏

@@ej3016 holiday is a right, not a privilege. I understand you may be from a different old era. As a foreigner who lives in and loves Japan, the workaholic culture is absolutely so heartbreaking to see. If you don’t work overtime, then it’s frowned apon. No vacations, long hours day in and day out. Just no happiness in the work and not enough coworkers to distribute the workload. I am so glad you are putting yourself first. I don’t think many people do, and to live years and years like that is not a good life. I hope you find happiness. Being paid should be a bonus. Going to work doesn’t have to be torture. ❤

My younger sister is currently unemployed after quitting her prev job in August 2022 (in Japan too). We were also worried about that 3 months rule, but she stayed anyway while still looking for a job here. She went to her city consultation center (I forgot what it’s called in japanese), and after talking to them, they said that she could stay even after the 3 months period passed, as long as she can provide the imigration a prove that she’s actively looking for a job, and that you can afford to pay the bills and stuff. She still lives here in Japan, and is still looking for a job, and the immigration hasn’t once asked her to leave :) I suggest you try going to your city consultation center and confirm this w/ them, so you can be sure and at least remove 1 of your biggest worries, because what happened to my sister has been affecting me really bad too mentally, so I can totally understand what you’re feeling. Also, if you haven’t done this already, I’d recommend you to write down/ journal what you’re worried about, or what you need to do :) It’s not exactly the same, but back when I was about to move out, or when I was so stressed out from having so many problems and thoughts, writing everything down in a journal totally helped me. Because when you worry, your problems and thoughts would get piled up inside your head with no way of letting it out, so when you journal, you’re letting all your worries out and enable you to have a better perspective on what you got to do. Creating a to do list, organizing what the problems are, finding a step by step solutions for each problem would definitely make you feel better, because even by just jotting them down, it can help make you feel like there’s a progress. I worry and stressed out a bit less every time I dump all my worries and problems on my journal, and it definitely makes me be more positive, knowing that these problems are not something I can’t handle. Really sorry about the long comment. It's just that I can relate to what you said in this video, and would like to share how I dealt w/ a similar problem and what I think might help you. I hope things are working out for you 😊

Hi Lou C.I'm going through a similar time. Hold on and believe. Everything will turn out well. I like the way you prepare the food. Your videos are soothing. With those quotes, you reminded me of the famous Rocky movies. It doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get up. That's the only way to win. You are a strong personality Lou.I wish you happiness and love.

Hi Lou C! As long as you are meeting expectations at work, you should be allowed time off to visit your family. Family is important and you have to set boundaries and there should be a work-life balance. I commend you for having the strength to walk away and find something else. The world is so big and I’m sure there are many opportunities out there for you! You’re already successful with your channel so that’s something to celebrate. Keep going and don’t stop! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Hello Lou. 🙂 Happy to hear you found a new place to live. You mentioned you might look into getting a business manager visa and I immediately thought about your RU-vid channel; there may be a visa specifically for RU-vidrs (content creators) living in Japan that you can apply for instead. I enjoy watching the King Kogi channel and the creator is a Canadian living in Japan, perhaps reaching out to her and asking her what visa status she is using to live in Japan might be helpful. If you prefer to try another business, what about a virtual assistant for businesses in the Philippines trying to make contacts and/or do business in Japan with Japanese companies. You understand the customs and business culture of Japan and know enough of the language to help companies in the Philippines make contacts, run errands in the city and help with any other tasks that need to be done there in Japan (or the reverse, any Japanese companies wanting to make business contacts in the Philippines). I hope you don't mind my suggestions and I wish you every continued success in your endeavors. GOD bless. 🙏

I believe you have a great deal more abilities and skills than you think. Also, you have an open mind and desire to learn and grow. You also have courage and determination. You WILL find a wonderful, prosperous new path! Leaving the old toxic company allows you so much opportunity and freedom. Many blessings!

@@aguantecanada you seem hell bent on responding with the same negative energy to everyone who is trying to be supportive. Some people actually put their mental health and family life first. Shocker to you, yes I know but get this. Some people actually wish to be happy in life and take steps in that direction instead of 'oh, I can't quit my job because... reasons'. If her quitting her job is so devastating and detrimental to YOUR well being give her one then, yes? Start a company and carve out a position for her. Can't? Then give her the one you currently have. Still can't? Then shut up. Not everyone is as whiny, unpleasant, unhappy and annoying as you are. I enjoy watching people enjoying their lives and/or making effort to do just that. It seems odd that your goal in life for today is to be this unpleasant. DO better. BE better. FInd your happiness and stop being... you.

@@aguantecanada for someone claiming to be soooo uninterested in her situation, you spend one hell of a time to respond to everyone in the comments. Imho, you're just a bitter little person, with no success in Life and deeply unhappy about it, even if you claim otherwise in the comments. You're pathetic and rude. Otherwise you would be supportive or at least don't give a shit and don't comment in such a manner you do. Grow up and get a Life!

I live in Australia. When I was young I worked for Toshiba, a Japanese company. I was shocked at how disciplined the japanese staff were. So rigid, serious, and dedicated. Being the young at heart, full of fun type person, I lasted 6 weeks there. Never again and I still have no desire to ever visit their country. Good luck Lou. Mayb the Philippines is calling you back. Don't bust yourself for a country that is not your scene.

I don’t know whether it is realistic to start a business from scratch as a foreigner in Japan. But if so, you should go for it - find a gap in the market, you’re a good observer. And you have an entrepreneur‘s courageous soul that needs to be fed with daily (positive) challenges. All the best to you from Europe!
