I would use Fabric glue to hem the curtains…quicker and easier..I also would hang my wet clothes closer to the ceiling( heat rises) , hang them down the length of the boat and use a small fan to circulate the air, if the wood stove is fired, clothes will dry quicker and wood burner will reduce the humidity in the boat..
Hey guys 👋 just an idea and maybe a bit late now but could try a hanging mesh dehydrator with a few levels to store your seeds when inside and could even just take the whole thing outside and hang on a tree branch. It could at least contain them in one area and not take up the sides. Your both great parents and embracing the chaotic and ever changing life of new parents. Have a blessed week 🙏
I love the smell of washing that's dried outside plus it's free. Hilarious about the seed labels, you'll maybe recognise what things are as the leaves get bigger.... or maybe not but it'll be fun anyway 😸
When I lived on a boat we had a metal pole hung on the ceiling near the fire and we hung wet washing on it on coat hangers. You could fit so much on there without taking up too much space
Consider fitting a wall-mounted drying rack just below ceiling height. You'll easily get 8-10 metres of hanging space from a small one metre rack. They're also retractable, space-saving and almost flush to the wall when not in use. You can find a robust model for about 50 pounds online, but it would transform your internal space on washing days.

Thanks like U I use both living off grid and have done for months my favourite is fresh cotton and sea salt . Living on a boat or like me a shepherds hut space is always a problem...I bought an airer I put up at night. My stove is still on too it's cold out . Joubert is so cute with his giggles bless him . Have fun better weather on the way 🤞
Who’d have thought you’d be a seamstress too Gabby, had you done some of this before living on a boat? It’s all a bit of a juggling act - for space! Take care A. Chris X
Thanks for the video. Nice to see the sunshine but it’s still pretty chilly here too! How have you managed without curtains? Darlin’ wee sewing machine! Warmer weather is coming! Gorgeous baby Jo! Fun times! Keep smilin’ Hugs xoxo
Saw a 1st video of yous coupla weeks ago, n now your all in the family way 😮 fast movers! Happy for you all, yiz are lovely energy, funny light people 🙌🏼
Wild products are good, they now do liquid shampoos and conditioners which they are selling in some of the larger Tesco stores according to a notification I received from them today. I have a question about your boat, are you on a permanent mooring? I am somewhat confused by the stuff you have on the towpath.
Laundry will be an almost daily issue for a few years yet with gorgeous baby Joe. It looks you have good ceiling height on your boat. Think about putting an airing rack to pull up & down from the ceiling, especially near the fire if you can. you could use some some really nice rope or string & wood, so when not in use it will still look good. lovin jack's new 'do. cheers Helen from Australia
Ah the never ending cycle of laundry! SO pleased we managed to squeeze a washing machine into the boat. We're going to get a pulleymaid eventually, a wooden rack that will sit above the fire - although knowing us we'll try and make our own DIY version! Thank for watching Helen :) Jack xx
It sounds as if there is a bit of "cabin fever" setting in guys lol. My partner and I know all about that. I do so admire you two and ALL that you have accomplished since your fist video. Just a thought, try hanging the laundry down the length of the boat instead of across. Then if the front and back doors can be opened it will allow the breeze to flow down the length instead of being blocked off. Looking forward to seeing the new curtains. Do have a very safe and fun week. Mark Alberta, Canada
Just think on this lol, you have the rain and mud on the toe paths but we awoke to yet more snow, sigh. Summer will be here for all of us very soon and getting out will be fun again. Big hugs to all and safe journeys ahead. Awaiting for your next adventure. Mark Alberta, Canada@@thistinylife
You should grow purple sprouting & asparagus on your allotment. If you’re staying a while the asparagus will take a few years before you can harvest but worth it!
Guess washing day is hard. What about a wooden airer you can hang from ceiling, near fire then either hang washing or dry herbs and flowers. Check out the original sheila maid, a victorian style airer. Junior too cute.🥰
Love your videos. You need to take one day at a time & deal with what life throws your way. You only have so many hours & you may not think you have accomplished much, but I am sure you do. Good things take time. Young Joubert is adorable. I have never been a parent so I cannot relate, but I think you are doing a great job. Your rest is important Gabby. Just go with the flow. It will all work out in the wash as my late Mum use to say. Have a wonderful week guys.😃👍👌
Thanks really enjoying watching you all, this one so reminded me of my early (sleepless) days with young ones which was quite some time ago now as mine are older teens!! 😊 (Gabby, if straight sewing is a bit of a pain, can I suggest taping a straight piece of card onto your machine bed to put your hem up to, as long as the fabric runs along it, you should get a pretty decent line and it saves a lot of stopping and starting, good luck with the rest of your blinds ☺️)
Actually the reality of wet washing, snotty noses and messiness is the reason I watch. It’s perfectly not perfect. Well done. And yes I love washing dried outside too 😊😊😊😊👍☀️☀️☀️👌
I'm wondering whether you could hang one of those Victorian style clothes airers on a pulley system from the ceiling to help lift some of the laundry out of the way. Also, as warm air rises, it might dry faster. I'm sure you could get one second hand quite cheaply.
Hi, my suggestion for clothes drying is a hook up where wall meets ceiling so rope goes along boat length instead of going across! Hope it helps. Jr. Is beautiful, keep doing what u do @ one time all of us struggled. ❤meme tina usa
Joubert is so adorable when he laughs. I love his little smile it's so cute. And Tilly is so adorable.I love your videos always put a smile on my face. The life you all live is so lovely.so looking forward to the next video.🙂🙂🧸
I'm guessing neither of you have been around small children very much. Otherwise, you'd focus on getting that boat clean and habitable for a baby that will be crawling and grabbing at everything in a few months.
That beautiful baby is growing up in a blissful, thriving, loving, natural and caring environment. Far more important than a "tidy" house! Where do you get that it is dirty from? Little Joe looks to be blossoming well and growing into a little boy that will be kind to fellow humans, animals and the natural world around him. No need for this hateful nastiness.
Without the labels 🏷 your safest bet is to plant the seedlings, in their groups 30 centimetres apart. Then, as they grow bigger you will soon become aware of anything that’s a climber and requires .... something to climb - like a trellis or whatever. 🤣 The only thing that could become an issue is if you have any melons, squash or courgettes (zucchinis). They all look kinda the same when they are little, but I guess since you have the allotment space, then you’ll definitely have plenty of time to reposition anything if need be - so it has room to spread out. 🍉 🍆🌶🥔🥦🥒🥕🌽🍅🥬🫑🧅🍠🧄 I’m only saying this because I too have had a season (or two) of “Mystery Gardening” due to disappearing/invisible ink on my stupid labels 🤣. But honestly, It was actually kind of fun trying to work out what each plant was, or would turn out to be. 🙂 Place your bets! 🏷? What will it be? So, like I said, if you plant everything out at least 30 centimetres apart, you’ll be absolutely fine. Enjoy yourselves ❤🙂 Mystery Gardening is F. U. N. Fun ❤ Thanks for sharing another wonderful video. Much appreciated. 🙂🐿🌈❤️ P.s I’m sorry for getting carried away with the emojis. Those little vegetables are just too cute.
