That was great, just letting Michael talk, almost ramble.. but we’re all hanging on his every word. The man is a legend, whether he thinks of himself that way, or not.. To ride around the TT circuit at the pace those boys do, and then win 27 races, 1 more than his uncle Joey who is immortalised as the GOAT….well, there you go. I saw Hizzy win in 92 and it stayed with me for the rest of my life. Wish I could be there to see Michael making history so if you are, please do not take it for granted because this is a man becoming a legend in front of your eyes.

I too was there in 1992 and got my program signed by Joey after he won his 14th TT. I would have loved to have been over at this years TT but I shall have to wait till the planets align for me again....Salute to all the TT riders Past, Present and Future!

Michael. At the end of the Superbike race you said “Most people don’t like me”. You couldn’t be more wrong. You are the most inspirational person I ever saw. he’s alluded to it a few times now. I believe this has been a big weight lifted. His demeanour, the relief in his voice leads me to believe this is a bigger achievement in his mind than he’s let on in the past. When you get closer to legend territory, which joeys record clearly was, It gets almost mythical. The danger, the record, fate, irrational and perfectly rational fear of death are all in the balance. I’m sure I’m not even close to comprehending his thoughts over the last few years but it definitely feels like now the pressure is off. Hats off to an amazing career and long may it continue 👏👏👏

Amazing covwrage, Tom & Lee & Chris have constantly brought the Power and Passion of the TT to all of us and Michael has his team and family by his side as he made history. His brother William & Dad Robert and Uncle Joey are all his guardian angels and Michael's drive and determination determination as a mechanic and racer make him set apart from most. Thanks MD! I'm not really a motorsport fan but I was bitten by the IoMTT bug about 10 years ago. Particularly after seeing the documentary, Road. To say that I look forward to this every year is a massive understatement! I still can't come to grips with how thrilling, heart-breaking, and addictive this can be. Thank you to all the riders and their teams, past and present. Thank you to all the marshals and organisers! We've got something here that transcends life itself...

It's clear he's still battling with what this actually might mean to him, I imagine it's bittersweet that he's finally won more than his uncle but sad that they're not around to celebrate the moment together as you know they'd be proud as punch. Either way you cannot doubt the hard work and passion he's put into this sport, he more than deserves this, well done MD you are a TT legend!

Really really massive respect to both interviewers for just backing TF off and letting MD speak. I know there will be edits and stuff, but the amount of time the 'host' is just stood stock still doing nothing, really really shows his craft and his deep knowledge of the sport. He knew what he was already getting was gold and to just let it play out, Parkinson-esq.

What a brilliant insight into Michael’s mind. Feelings are mixed, I want to grab him and ask him to forgive human mistakes, but at the same time I love his competitiveness and drive. Just a cracking person, a legendary bike rider, and a magnificent example to people who understand sport. Yes, he’s a legend.

Absalutly coverd in goose bumps,The whiskey was out after the race win. FANTASTIC! Im no mystic Meg.But I had a feeling MD was going to become King of the mountain this year.And he deserves it! he eaerned it. A true Legend. How Proud would William,his Dad and Uncle Joey would be.And to keep going after such loss in my opinion says everything about the man.He is not marmite. He just dosent suffer fools,and wants to be left alone to get on with what he needs to do.But you can see that wee smile now in interveiws he is looking a lot more relaxed.Theres more to come! These lads live for the moment. Doing this as a way of life, the moment sometimes is all there is. He is a now the greatest, the King of The Mountain, he deserves to wear the Crown and recieve the accolades that will come his way. He has stood on the shoulders of giants and he knows this, now the people coming through will get to stand on his shoulders. He is now a Giant, a legend of the Worlds greatest race.

Michael's dad and uncle are looking down with so much pride, such a humble man. The problem with the visor during the superbike race was a super tough break, but, he recovered and smoked em. Love that he ran a Paton during the twins race, I've loved their bikes since they were building 500cc two stroke GP bikes.

Brings us all to near tears and nobody can just find the right words why. Something about a torch and it's sublime destiny and witnessing a man bear it and leave us speechless as he continues to break laws of nature and expectations with a living achieve and mastery, like that of living God. He could look Zeus in the eyes and wink at him and say "What about you lad?" AndZeus would have to say, " Hats off to you, Michael! How did you do that? "

I can't believe self-deprecating MD is considering what he has achieved. He is a legend who is idolised by his peers and the majority of motorsport fans. Like marmite!?
