You don’t have to invite them to your island in order to get the Sanrio items. It’s enough if you scan the cards at Harv’s Island. The Sanrio items have a separate section on Nook’s Shopping.

New horizons gives you more freedom and you decorate your own island. Where’s pocket camp gives you less freedom and you only decorate your campsite. Both a good games though
You can buy it in nook cranny and happy home paradise ( when you finished Poppy's vocation house ), it cost 320 bells and 290 poki in Paradise Planning office
