For oil stains, I just put a morsel of dishwashing soap on the spot, rub it in a little, and leave it for a couple hours and wash normally in the washing machine ☺️

Loving the vlogs this month so much ❤️ For the oil stain, I discovered how to get rid of the recently- you cover the stain with baby powder, leave overnight and then wash as normal in the morning and the oil stain is gone! I managed to save a few pieces of clothing doing it that had had oil stains on for a while. Hope that helps xxx

Olive oil! We had it on an orange hoodie - it was there for months and then I smothered the stain in washing up liquid left it for a few hrs, then rubbed some stain remover in, then cold washed it and it was almost gone! Left a little wash powder rubbed in over night, put in wash and it had gone! Worth a try 🥰

Most fruit and veg don’t need to be in the fridge unless it’s really warm in your kitchen. To ripen the avocados, cover them with newspaper and put them in a cub board and they will ripe in 2 days!

Better yet, take a paper bag (think “sack lunch”) add a banana and your avocados... this hurries up the ripening process so nicely. *chef’s kiss* 😊

My mum works in a dry cleaners and she swears by washing up liquid on any stain that is oil based, give it a try 🤞🏼

If you eat a lot of cooked grains, might I suggest a small rice cooker? Not only for rice, it’s great for cooking quinoa, long grain rice or anything else! Lots of them have a timer so you can put the grains in with water and set it for when you want it done. I suggest zojirushi brand from Japan. I’ve had mine for more than 10 years now. It’s very convenient. You could also cook grains in bulk and freeze them yourself for later.

Watching your cozy little vlog while knitting has been such a balm to an anxiety filled week for me. Also while watching your vlog, I was thinking that knitting seems like something you might really enjoy. I don't know if you've ever tried it before, but from my own experience with anxiety it has been such a calming and amazing hobby for helping my anxious mind. And it's fun to have a lot of cozy handmade knitwear in the end. 🧶✨

When I have oil stains, even if it has been washed, i put baby powder on it, let it soak for a little bit, then dust away the excess and it usually leaves dust only on the part where the oil is. I let it stay like that for a bit more and then with a brush or my hand dust it all away. Usually it will remove the stain on the first try but if it doesn’t try again until it’s all gone. You can also try flour but I find baby powder to be a bit better.

The spongey tofu that you get at takeaways is puffed tofu so it's a different type to the silken or firm you'd get in the supermarket! If you google 'tofu puffs' it comes up - it comes already puffed x

Asian restaurants typically use ‘tofu puffs.’ In Australia you can only get them at Asian supermarkets so check them out if there’s one near you! It took me years to figure out haha

Usually for fresh olive oil stains, leave the stain covered with talcum powder for a day or 2, and then wash as normal. This helps soak the oil. :)

If you boil some water and put some distilled white vinegar in the boiling water and put anything with stains in there for a minute it will get everything out of your clothing

Random comment of the week, but did you know that John West have a very poor record, they are not environmentally friendly or ethical the way they catch tuna or how they treat their staff. M&S actually sell their own brand of tuna and is far more ethical.

For the tofu - different tofu types (soft or firm) are for different cooking. Soft tofu is for soup because it becomes mushy and firm and extra firm gives it that spongey texture!

I had the same issue with an oil stain on clothing that had already been washed and baking soda worked for me! Make it into a paste with a bit of water and scrub the stain with an old toothbrush, then wash again as normal

In Japan, we have a few types of tofu, one soft, one hard, one fried…could be similar to one of these types that you’re looking for. If you try an asian supermarket, I’m sure they’ll have these different types for you to try!

You can get the spongey texture tofu from Asian shops! Just go to the frozen section or the tofu section and you should find it there. Or bring a photo and show it to a shop assistant!

I eat tofu pretty regularly- and I actually don’t like the sponge texture lol- I find that firm tofu that you only press a little is very spongey. The longer you keep it on the press, the less liquid will be in it, and rhe less spongey it’ll be. So if you’re wanting spongey tofu, I would either press it lightly or not at all 👍

The frozen tofu kind of spongy is completely different to firm tofu. It’s funny, I remember having super spongy tofu as a kid and hated it but somehow I love it now, way more than tofu straight from the fridge x
