Thank you Isabel, I am 73 years old and had almost given up until I came across your videos, they almost make me feel young again. You are such an inspiration and so beautiful. You should setup a place for people like me to rent for a while to learn how to eat healthy, lift our spirits and feel more alive, especially during these crazy times. My wife and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and Thank You again.
I accidentally found this channel and is making me question my whole life and existence. Definitely gonna start making changes in my life, for that I thank you ❤
@echolocation 999 I'm laughing. For the last 10 years I have lived off grid, growing all my food, going to bed soon after dark and waking up before sunrise. It's a beautiful life. But was burned out by the fires this year. Now I'm in a small town (less than 4000 people) and trying to find a new spot. And I'm in my 60's. Living simply is very calming. Though no internet or phone signal isn't too much fun. It's definitely less stressful
same here... I was really feeling stuck the past weeks and months, but felt there was and is something approaching... something life changing ... Isabel's channel definitely inspired me to follow and listen to that.
I am so amazed and impressed with all your skills ! Built your own home, weaving, gardening, cooking, guitar , singing, yoga, .......!!! as well as a gift for joy !
@@Indego2006I agree.....to balance online time with skill learning time. I have my own list of skills as I enjoy learning and applying that knowledge. Not sure I agree that everything is easy to learn , however ! It is great if you are one who everything comes easy. You sound as though you are an encourager, which is a wonderful skill in itself.....
We definitely need an in depth interview with your parents! You’re an incredible young woman. I want to know more about how you were raised. I’m intrigued.
Isabel, the sequence of you in your new medicine blanket climbing up the mountain to honor your friend in labor is so exquisite. The image of a woman , in wild Nature, wrapped in wool and mists of Winter's dawn-light... it could be today or a thousand years ago. It deserves an award.
You can tell she has worked hard in her life because of her hands! I've expressed embarrassment about my hands to my mom before because I work with my hands a lot, they get really cracked and dry. Mom told me it shows that I am a hard worker and shows that I wasn't given anything, I had to take it for myself! Anyways, now I am always looking at peoples hands lol. It's good to see other girls with hands like mine, keep working hard Isabel! 👐
People with hands that arnt touching holding creating in life is hand abuse the energy in the hands isn't full flowing, when you work with your hands your whole body is alive getting the full free flow inner luxury being experience and not waisting the fullness of living!
My hands are so wrinkled and I am not old at all, I know it's because I work hard too, but they have alway been more lined than the other's 🙄 sometimes I wish someone could read them to me because I think they have a lot to say
I'm always imagining Isabel setting up these shots by herself in the cold! Such amazing camera angles/Cinematography and I bet it's a lot of work! Shes so cool!
I suppose it's possible and everyone would like to believe it was all done by a single person, but some of these shots would almost have to require an additional hand to help pull it off. Even with additional help the eye for cinematography is very impressive!
PRO TIP ❗️❗️ To not have to deal with the snow every morning. You can buy a big comforter/Blanket or Duvet cover and put over your car. Then in the mornings, you just drag the comforter off. Thus, you won’t have to deal with scraping the snow off your car everyday.
The “giving birth” scene from 18:10 to 22:15 is so beautiful and deeply satisfying. The child will watch this one day and never have to doubt his/her divinity.
In this world obsessed with frenetic rhythms and the desire to appear in people's eyes, we should only learn from Isabel how to enjoy the simple things that life gives us. It is wonderful to see how enthusiastic she is in just making a cup of good coffee or seeing snow falling through the window. Everything is so magic. I think absloutely she is the best storyteller on the web. Peace and love to everyone❤️
Honoring the baby’s birth at dawn atop the snowy majestic mountain was absolutely ethereal and left me in tears. The most breathtaking and remarkable moment I have seen in all your videos. I will carry that in my heart for all my days.
@@alanwadsworth well, i think you will find out there quite a decent number of people who, despite being in a relationship or gathering lots of people around them, feel lonely (not seen, not understood or respected nor loved...) cheers M.
Your life is lived to the fullest. When you were on the top of the mountain yelling at the top of your lungs I just had to smile and count myself lucky to see a young lady alive and engaged in every moment of her existence. And the effort you put into each of your "stories" is so special. You are a joy to watch. Love from Arizona
If it's too cold to swim, you should build a sauna next to your tiny house. Warm up, then douse yourself with cold water to wake up in the mornings and get clean.
I appreciate how much time you take to show your path up to wherever you’re going . Setting up the camera and walking by ... that’s dedication. Also What a deep way to welcome a child into this world . Happy birthday to your friends baby 🤍😊
I haven't properly cried in months I haven't been able to, that scene of you making the blanket, climbing the mountain to bring a new light to the world has allowed me to feel that emotive release again so thank you for that
You should do a Q&A about your house. How it feels, how you use the restroom, the wild animals and how you keep yourself safe. Unless you did make a video explaining all that 🙂
I keep wondering... " You are so inspirational and proactive being so young, I wonder how would you be 5 or 10 years from now? Hopefully by then you would still continue sharing your life with us, and that me, (being not so young), may still be here to watch your Vlogs. Lots of love gorgeous girl :))
Hey ill be 60 in june and am proactive/creational to the hilt/just saying people want me to make a you tube channel-she will not burn out of free flow either-go you/and go Isabel!!!
It sure did! It reminded me of a hard but worthwhile journey, bringing light into the world. The way she is left in awe of the natural sights around her and cries out reminds me of absolute worship of the Creator
Every once in a great while, almost rarely, I come across someone on RU-vid who is not only amazing but genuinely incredible in talent and spirit, resourceful, independent and beautiful... You my friend are one of those rare birds. You just gained a new subscriber because I am very intrigued with how you're living life. Already in this one video you have taught me some new things. Rock on and stay beautiful in every way.
Whew! Isabel finally saying "No more winter swimming for me, I'm done with that." Such a relief knowing how she could get sick swimming in such freezing waters.
You don't actually get sick only through the cold (I am a medical assistant). The physical body is just more attackable by bacteria etc. when getting too cold, that means it needs a lot of energy to produce more warmth and the immune system shuts down a bit as the main focus is on maintaining the body temperature. Wim Hof, also called "the iceman", is using cold therapy combined with breathing to increase overall health, heal the body, and so much more. There are lots of reports from people who healed chronic diseases with the help of that method. Even physical evidence through studies exists. Check it out and you might be surprised what is possible through the cold 🙏
@@jasminjaeger ahhhh, that's why ppl get sick (esp in warmer climates) when they get soaked in the rain... doctors always say it's not the rain that usually causes the illness...now, with your explanation, I know why..Thanks for that piece of info :)
In areas with hot springs or saunas, it's common to jump in a river or lake afterward during Winter; but it takes the heat to prepare you for the cold . . .
Imagin there is someone out , climbing a mountain in the deep winter and light up a candle for your birth. they cant be a more beautiful and magical gift. this life will gonna be blessed
I've watched all of your videos since the beginning of quarantine. I don't get to see too many people since doing online school. Watching your videos makes my feel like I have a good friend in my company, not to mention they are always stunning.
Thank you soo much Isabel - I have tears in my eyes and I guess thousands of other hearts are touched in the same way. By your authentic beauty, your wisdom, your presence and pure joy ... it feels like you are helping humanity to find back to the roots and the true nature within ourselves. Such an important and great work. I love and appreciate you so much
That end hit me hard. Finally I understand myself. Thank you. And this scarf and that sunrise!! and also that you came up the mountain to just lit the candle for your friend. You are such a beautiful soul!
The risk of crypto and beaver fever turns out to be rather overblown. It's not terribly common in the backcountry and up in the mountains. A course of metronidazole clears giardiasis up pretty fast
@@cameronbuttigieg9060 I think we’re talking about 2 different things... I’m talking about getting sick from drinking unpurified drinking water and you’re talking about vaginal infections.
That totally made me cry when you went to light the candle on top of the mountain for the baby. What a story you can tell them about how beautiful it was on the day they were born.
Isabel, young lady looks like you have touched people in ways that you’ll never fathom! I personally am very inspired by the way you savor every moment of your life, given the circumstances that the world is in right now, please stay safe... God bless!
Whenever I watch your Videos I feel so warmed up and I have to smile trough the whole time. They give me so much of good feelings. I am sitting here in my room in a very gray city and I wish I could just enjoy the life for one day as you are. These pictures in the mountains and the snow feels so much like home to me and are just beautiful. Thanks for your Videos, really, many thanks.
I love your content and the sentiment you bring. However, I have to say I think the last few thoughts you expressed don’t necessarily hold true for everyone. College can be rewarding, as can work that is not intensely physical or tangible. For you perhaps it wasn’t, but I am proud of what I create at school. I am proud of a finished research paper or PowerPoint presentation that I put my all into. I am a music major, so I am proud of the sounds I create and how they change from lesson to lesson, day to day, and I can see my improvement quite easily. Also, perhaps surviving in a city is easy (assuming you have money for an apartment and food, as well as shelter), especially compared with the natural, rugged lifestyle you lead that so many people look on as being “simplistic” but is truly backbreaking and difficult, but that doesn’t mean that life is easy in the city. There are different struggles, particularly for people who are homeless, lower income, and people of color. While I understand what you mean when you say that there is no satisfaction in the non tangible rewards of college and the ease of surviving in the city, I think it is important to note that there is value in every lifestyle choice and every road that is followed. There are struggles and triumphs and gifts and curses that every person will have to face, and there is no right way to live.
Beautifully said and so very true. But she is young. She does not understand that. And there are people that work in cities that she relays on for what they produce but she does not think of that. I am sure she did not forge her own knife, build the loom she used, make her own power tools or build her own car. She did not make the music she uses in her videos or create the equipment she uses to record and edit them either. The world works because people live such different lives. It is not right to minimize the lives of others the way she did.
@@ahoward3819 Sorry, but imo she didn't "minimize the lives if others" - she just says what fits to her personality and what doesn't, and compares HER city life with her life out there. @Hannah: you are definitely right, "College can be rewarding, as can work..." - but i guess only, if your reward is not ONLY good grades, but when it fits to you as a person - then it's perfect for you of course and college and your later work are a satisfying path. cheers M.
@@ahoward3819 she practically did rebuild that car, look back on her older videos. She’s not critiquing anyone else’s lifestyle she specifically said ‘for me’ this way of doing suits me better.
I agree with this. I’m in academia (may or may not pursue a PhD if I can get funding for it, who knows) and tbh I wouldn’t be doing that if I didn’t feel like I was called to it (that sounds kind of cheesy, I know). It can be super tough and stressful and sometimes I wonder why I’m doing this to myself, when I probably won’t even find a job in my field of choice after 5 years of studies, but the answer is always that I can’t imagine myself doing anything else right now and I feel like even if I won’t make a living from it, this is something that I have to do. I would never be happy living the self sustained life in a rural place. But I guess that’s the key, find something that you enjoy doing so much so that the everyday struggles become worth it.
Couldn't agree more about the latter statement. Resonates well with my double-dead-spaced insulated cardboard walls. What an excellent way to share life
I’ve been feeling absolutely numb being just another person in corporate America. Life has not been easy lately, and i rediscovered your videos and they have been bringing me so much joy after stressful days. Thank you for reminding me there is a life that is meant to be living and what it’s actually like to be human.
@Isabel Paige Can you PLEASE make a recipe book?? Commenting before I am even watching this , every time I watch your videos I drool over the food! I am sure I am not the only one! We need your recipes please ??😘🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
Snow has something so magical ✨ nature calms down underneath a beautiful white blanket and we're invited to wander through an enchanting icy fairy world 🤍 you captured it so beautifuly Isabel!!
You are THE most amazing young person I've ever seen...At 60 I'm doing a semi off grid situation with wood stove, having to bring water in from a spring, do makeshift showers etc and COMPLETELY 'get' how you speak of 'doing' and getting that sense of accomplishment! How very neat it is to be alive!
There is so much beauty in all these clips. Such pristine colors, the dawning of the music, the crackles in your voice and the brightness of your laughter. It all fits so nicely with your shine. I can hardly believe you're producing all of this yourself.
3:50 I had a car accident last week when i drove on a very icy road and lost control over the car and hit a tree. I wasn't hurt luckily but my car didnt survive this and now I am in the swedish mountains without a car...and pretty much feel so tired and exhausted of all of this. So i can SO relate to your struggles. But I guess that's life and we have to keep strong and get through Winter and in Spring the light will come back and we will gather all the warmth and things will get easier again 🤎 Lots of love to you! Have a warm and cozy christmas!
Youre so beautiful. Just your spirit alone is perfect. I wish I could appreciate life on your level. I'm trying to. You are also so talented. Truly blessed to know so many trades and hobbies. I know your parents are so proud of you. Truly an independent queen! Yass!
You should set up a tarp (or even make a little shelter) to house your car. It would keep it in slightly better shape and save you some time in the morning!!..
I was so excited to see you spin yarn! Your shawl is so pretty and it’s really cool that you not only wove it but also spun the yarn that it’s made from! I also spin yarn but usually knit or crochet, I haven’t tried weaving yet. 😊
2020 has been the best and the worst year for me emotionally Worst part: I suffered a traumatic heartbreak ,😥 and when I couldn't breath , your videos helped me through. Best part : I found your channel☀ now I truly believe that nothing is without purpose, because I never would have appreciated these calm healing videos had I not suffered that trauma and I probably wouldn't switch up my channel to a more peaceful space. I am indeed grateful for all that happened because it led me here to a journey of self healing, accepting myself and seeing the beauty in my rural life even more ☀🌿. Thank you Isabel
The music you put into movies are my soundtrack of happines and remind of how beautifull life can be :) I wish you had a full playlist of favourites songs I could listen to. Greetings from Norway, we are still waiting for snow!
I'm really enjoying your sharing; it reminds me a lot of similar things I've done in the forests of Big Sur and mountains of Colorado. If you get cold, it may be due to inadequate footwear, sox, or relying on coffee instead of eating enough calories before heading out. Going out early in the morning during winter in the mountains may also require long johns, or snow pants; the latter just zip over your pants, and can be removed after things warm up. Lots of skiers use them on the slopes as well. In really cold weather, a pair of double boots is invaluable (they have a separate insulating inner-boot). Also, a down jacket may not be enough without the above additions; you may also need a fleece layer on top or underneath. A fleece vest under a down jacket is a good combination, and can be removed if you get too warm. Usually, by afternoon, single layers of clothing suffice. Hope this helps.
The scenes of you climbing to the top of the mountain in your hand made winter shawl to light a candle for your friends birthing was beautiful and timeless. I felt a lump in my throat and my eyes swelled up. What an amazing human and friend you are. ☮️ 💚🤙🏻 * Jeep
You have one hell of a good car, I would recommend you get it inspected so it stops stressing you out so much. Those toyota trucks can last a life time if you take care of them!
Oh my... You got me! I cried and I laughed, I amazed, my heart was beating fast at the beauty I saw. You manage to show THE MAGIC you talk about throughout all your stories, I'm sure everyone's feeling it. I am speechless about the music choice you make for your videos. So many things you say resonate with me. This story is my favorite so far. Thank you so much for your hard work, you are a wonderful human being! Wish I could meet you and talk to you someday)
Only thing you are missing is a dog or a cat for company...you would never feel alone, they're the most amazing companions and family member's. They would have such an amazing life there with you aswell. Would just add to the coziness of comming home with them waiting for you in the best way.
Isabel....your'e a gem! When you and Raquel drank from the stream together..precious....this epic statement...."oh my god, i have water" .....the scenes on the mountain honouring your friends baby.....every day, every moment is celebrated..I love the way you are delighted by life..xx
Our school system was created to dumb us down! My best knowledge came from travel and fixing my car and surviving to live my passion, which is snowboarding! We should be collecting the jewels of the spirit, not unending material possessions! I found my jewels in Nature! Love your videos!
It just hit me. My daughter, a research scientist helped develop the covid vaccine. She is a product of a school system that was created to dumb us down.... thinking about that now.
@@panosa7789 Disease is a natural progression of life on this planet. All organisms experience it. Our overcrowding and close proximity allow it to proliferate thus lowering the population levels. Unfortunately, this is the way of things. Clean living wouldn't stop it. We can use our science to change the course of it but in the long run millions of years of evolutionary control will win out. I don't like it but it's the reality. That being said, we still need to fight it and do the right thing to minimize the effect of this episode in our human history.
Your videos bring me so much inner peace. It reminds me of the way of life and how we should be living, enjoying all our moments, and the tasks we do everyday and above all else - nature!
I really agree with you with the college thing. There is nothing more satisfying than creating something from scratch and having it working in the way which u imagined. Also i think u need to get a hot tub/bath to soak in after work.
Hi Isabel Your point about the feeling of accomplishment really resonated with me. I live in Denmark and right after High School i studied law at university for 5 years and worked as a lawyer for 4 years afterwards. I have in all that time enjoyed in my scarse sparetime to do some kind of physical work, where I can actually psysically see the result. Now I live on a farm with horses, dogs and cats. And I love doing physical projects outside my 9-5 job. It makes me feel sooo accomplished and happy. I really enjoy your videoes and look forward to see more. Really inspiring. Best wishes! ☺️
I love that you are spinning and weaving!!! I’ve been spinning for almost ten years now and it’s so relaxing!! I just got my first floor loom and my husband is in the process of making a warping board for me so I can start weaving!
Isabel. I live in similar situation. However, I have simple insulation around all my pipes, and I keep all my hoses inside, where they can't freeze. I also have a backup Buddy Heater for those especially cold nights and days of 40+below. I don't remember if you covered the bottom of the tiny house, but it really really really helps, as things freeze here often. All we have to do, is start the Buddy Heater to put warmth under the house. Be sure that nothing is around it that can catch fire. You also might want to think about asking your follower's, if anyone has an unused wall mounted catalytic heater, that they would sell, or donate. They are very safe to use indoors, as they don't allow bad gasses to build up. Especially nice to have when it's crazy cold, and the wood stove is taking too long to warm up the house. I enjoy watching you figure these things out, but I would have expected that someone should be kind enough to give you some helpful tips, through their experiences. Stay strong, keep up the struggle, because it's always worth it in the end.
If she banked the fire, there would be hot coals when she gets home, but you have to watch the creosote in the chimney. Also there is stuff you can throw on the fire to control the creosote problem. She could also clean the chimney from inside the house.
The magic she creates in these videos is the greatest gift of all! The cold proves nothing could stop her wonderful spirit. Hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎄
This is so nicely done. The filming, the editing. Your hands and feet are so beautiful 😄I love the "Omg wow" moments. Thank you for your videos, they are a work of art and so very inspiring ❤️
This is all a fairy tale. I can't believe you made that thing yourself. I can't believe there is a human being who lives such an incredible life. Your food. I have never tasted most of it and I'm vegan (rolls eyes) coz I'm so boring and lack creativity in the kitchen. You've incredible. Your life is out of this world. I am in awe of your talents. Whoever teased you in school were probably intimidated by how great you are. There's something special about you Isabel. Wow!
I can't even begin to explain how amazing your videos and energy make me feel! Everytime I watch I get transported to a magical beautiful land full of happiness and simplicity it's so refreshing your energy and love of life and how u find so much positivity and gratefulness in everything. Just wanted to say thank you for being authentic, and taking so much time documenting your beautiful story of life. ❤
Best video ever. Loved hearing you talk more. The scenery was incredible, and at times, looked like a fairy tale. Congrats on getting your water running and on the shawl you made. The whole video just makes you feel so alive and motivated. Really awesome.
Another most beautiful vlog, always thrilled when I get an Isobel notification! Totally with you, the world is magical, you just have to be open to it, and quite often it's a struggle, but hey, you can't have the sweet without the sour! ❤️🐚
