The Afrin rebound congestion is worse than the initial congestion! Flonase is a better option and can be used longer term. They say it’s even ok to use when your nose is messed up from using afrin to help your sinuses de swell. I was also able to use Flonase while pregnant but as always, check with your doc 😊

Hi Mindy! Wanted to send a little tip for your congestion... Thyme. You can bring dried or fresh thyme to a simmer in some water, and it helps with congestion. Both nasal and chest congestion will loosen up. Do this 3 times a day for about 20/ 30 minutes. It works great! (Makes your house smell like a pizza house but... it works)

Okay, sweet Mindy, I'm going to share this because I feel compelled by my beautiful late mother to do so.😊 I am a doctor, the professor kind, but I am not a medical doctor, so take this with the tiniest grain of salt you can imagine. My mama used to swear by keeping her nose lubricated with petroleum jelly- in our case from a giant tub of vaseline- and for years, I fought her method. However, I am a Gen X baby, and refusing to allow my mother to cram Vaseline up my nose was not an option. As I grew older, I realized that her method was much more effective than I would ever have allowed. Also, I cannot take decongestants. So, when my nose is congested, I have a good saline spray or neti session, make sure I have those good smelling things around me, blow my nose one really good time, and then shove a bunch of Vaseline up my nose. The only change I have made to my mama's method is that I also take mucinex- just the regular kind not the DM- to thin out my mucus. This method usually works pretty well, and I am breathing freely through my nose in a couple of days or fewer. Again, this is not medical advice, but I couldn't listen to your poor little nosy-posey being congested without giving you this information. Much love to you, Larry, and precious Liam! 🥰🤩

Neil med sinus rinse. It a squeeze bottle you fill up with powdered saline and purified water( warm) then squirt it in one nostril with your head bent over the sink and your mouth slightly open. The saline will flow out the other nostril then switch. This will get the gunk out better than just saline spray. It literally will flow right out . Sounds gross but works like a charm.

Check for mold exposure in the house. It can be hidden or not. It can effect skin, sinus, brain fog, anxiety and so much more. Y'all moved and with humid and wet temps never can be to careful. Certain meds, Advil, candles, scents, detergents. Neck misalignments even has a connection to the nerves and sinus, ears, eyes ect. We did all natural dissolve under the tongue tabs for sinus. I will get the name and follow back up on here but it sure works. It can be so miserable. But you will get better soon 😊.

I’ve seen other people say it too, but Flonase is fine for long term use, and I’m pretty sure it’s okay with pregnancy too. You have to use it consistently though because it works better over time. Also nasal rinses can be helpful but you have to get used to it. I did a lot of research before buying a kit on Amazon. Rinsing the nasal passages with a saline solution and then using the Flonase is a good combo for me, and like I said, it should be pregnancy safe but check with your doctor.

Audiobooks count as reading!!! You are still consuming the story even if you aren’t looking at the words. Reading physically isn’t possible for everyone so audiobooks are amazing! Audiobooks and reading aloud are also great for kids because it exposes them to lots of words even before they can read on their own. 📚🎧 I was a children’s librarian for a while so I’m passionate about this haha. 😅 Fall is my favorite time of the year to read. So unscented laundry detergent and unscented dryer sheets and also with bath time we could only use unscented dove. Don’t let any scent touch his body. That worked for us. Oh Mindy I really feel for you suffering with nasal congestion. I have for ever. Like you I’ve been trying to quit the sprays. I’ve literally done, taken, sniffed, quit dairy etc Recently I’ve been using a ‘safer’ low steroid spray, two puffs twice daily, which I thought was helping but I’ve been having a few sniffs of the other stuff. I’ve been taking it for well over 20 years because I am so blocked and it’s awful. Being unable to breathe. I tried Neti pots, essential oils, Vicks rub but nothing it’s helping. I know over use of sprays isn’t good, but there’s no alternative? I had eczema when I was young, then hay fever hit hard at 13 but it’s gradually got worse and worse and now I’m 62 🤷‍♀️ I really hope you can get some relief especially during pregnancy. I’ll be reading other comments to see if anyone has suggestions I’ve not tried! Good luck! I hope the cream with help Liam!! And of course I have everything crossed for your IVF journey No 2!!! So sorry for your ongoing headaches and sinus congestion. It would probably be worthwhile to see an EN&T Dr. (Otolaryngologist). Get a referral from your regular MD. They will take history, check your sinuses with a CAT Scan, and determine what’s going on. I was hit with a baseball ⚾️ right at the center where my sinuses are, at 10 yrs old, and had a Cat-scan of my sinuses at 27. The Dr asked “When were you in a car accident?” Never. “You have damage as if your head hit a steering wheel”. So, I wonder if you had any injuries playing softball 🥎? Sending healing prayers 🙏🏼 and lots of ❤ for your next IVF Cycle. Tell Larry “Hi!” And please ask him to post more photos.📷

In other words, it's about stilling the thinking mind into silence.

Have you tried switching laundry detergents for Liam? He could be reacting to a fragranced detergent.

I figured you caught a cold when you got back from your trip you bought throat drops, NyQuil and nose spray. Doesn't sound like allergies 🤷🏼‍♀️

Last November to about April of this year I was using nose spray constantly. What helped me was going 1 full night of barely sleeping and not being able to breath for my nose to go back to normal. Here I am again about 3 or 4 months of using nose spray(happens every time I get a cold😩) and addicted to it again. lol trying to wean myself off of it AGAIN! Haha I did found out recently when I had an allergy test that I’m allergic to Timothy grass and Bermuda grass. So I’m about to start taking an allergy shot every week for about a year and see if that makes a difference
