DailyLook vs Stitch Fix Spring Clothing Subscription Box | Which One Got My Style | Worth It ? 

I've been a stylist for Stitch Fix. It's not yours not the client's fault but the company sets up false expectations for you. I'll just fill you all in how Stitch Fix really works behind the scenes. 1. You dont have to go to the post office. You can leave the return at your door step or mailbox for the USPS mailman to pick it up. Stitch Fix also has no control on what day and time your box arrives. 2. You have a 3 day window to return. However, Stitch Fix sends you reminder emails to let you know to checkout out or asking you if you need more time by extending that checkout window. A link is sent to your account and you'll be able to select a date. 3. Stitch Fix doesnt charge you for the whole box if you havent checked out by the third day. Actually, you are charged after a few weeks of either not sending the returns (which the post office notifies Stitch Fix once they've received them) or not extending the checkout date. They never charge at the 3 day mark. You must have waited several weeks to return. 4. "Stylists" are not personal shoppers. They are putting together pieces based on your style profile. However, stylists work remotely and never once do they physically see or handle your clothes. We have no idea on textures, fit, inseam, etc. That picture on the website of a stylist with crossed legs and a rack of clothes behind her? NOT REAL. Stylists work at home from a laptop and pick out whatever the company algorithm gives them to GIVE TO YOU. 5. The company has a ton of clothes from 5 years ago that keep getting recycled through inventory in an attempt to sell it wherever they can. 6. The stylists are COMPLETELY HELPLESS with inventory available. We have no control over what is provided and trust me. We complain consistently on the crappy selection of clothes that are usually never seasonally appropriate or made of very cheap material. 7. Never ask us to send you vegan, sustainable, fabrics or things made in the USA. We have absolutely NO CONTROL over that. In fact, we know very little of the clothes other than the main materials it's made of and the size and color. 8. If you want personalized, you are better off going elsewhere and shopping on your own. 9. Stylists DO read your request note and profile. However, the company restricts their ability to give you what you request by having an unmanageable inventory that doesn't make sense nor is it client right. The company then tells us to take ownership of giving you a crap box despite the fact they never update inventory and will tells us to TELL YOU to go on the the Freestyle tab in your account and to see the pieces not available to Stylists. That they get you to buy without the discount. Also, dont ask a Stylist for those pieces. We dont have them to include in a box for the discount. 10. Most brands are all internal brands like 41 Hawthorn, Daniel Rainn, West Kei, etc. Rarely do we have other mainstream brands for you. In fact, we have different colors of the SAME BLOUSE or TOP and that is exactly what comes up for us in inventory week after week when we style clients. 11. Take a notice at Stitch Fix's stock. It's tanked since last summer since the CEO Katrina Lake stepped down and had someone else take over. Why? Because they keep drilling into people's heads that data science is crucial to styling you. They have no idea what they're talking about. People are dynamic, unique individuals that seek variety and personalization. This is not a service that does that despite saying so. Your Fix Preview also is mostly half styled by a stylist with the algorithm "styling" the rest...which is the reason why you see a winter coat, boots, etc in the middle of the summer or things you know damn well you've said in your profile that you dont want. 12. A ton of clients are the KAREN-types, keyboard warriors. 13. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Nearly half of the company's stylists were let go and "offered" $1000 to leave since they abruptly took away the flexibility of remote work. They never anticipated half to leave and then rescinded the $1000 and put a disclaimer that they might not be able to pay up. Not to mention, they laid off all of the California stylists in the middle of the pandemic to hire people in Texas for much less.

I thought all the tanks looked lovely in you but the white was gorgeous. The first monkey jeans didn't work for you. The batwing pink sweater was a big hit! Fun comparison! I LOVE my Daily Look stylist! Theirs is a $40 styling fee, BTW. $30 is one of their intro offers. 🙂

I used to subscribe to Daily Look and had a great stylist. I chose to reduce my subscriptions and this one was one that I decided had to end. I suggest you look up the prices at other web sites if you really like something. DL prices are higher in some cases and will last the same amount of time/wear as they would at a lower cost. The Olivia Grey brand is top notch in my opinion. Most of my hand wash items get washed in my washer in a mesh bag on gentle cycle with cold water. I either dry flat or hang to dry. I also subscribe to SF and am very happy with my stylist. I do receive several 5/5 Fixes.

Keep that brown skirt. During summer it would be great to detect in. Give your legs some sun. My daughter gets mystery boxes but they contain wine. I don't mind them. I'm sometimes allowed to help her empty the bottles. Clothes do look good on you your lucky.
