DAIRY FARMING IN THE SOUTH

Fantastic video. I am always so impressed with the depth of knowledge put forth in the videos. Farming is a complicated business and this video did a great job of demonstrating how well y'all have done in understanding caring for your cows.

I'm from Texas and here for irrigation we use pivits, irrigation ditches, poly pipe and drop tape, poly pipe around here is the most popular since it's cheap and easy to use.

It always good to visit other farms and see the different setups an the way they do things, they seem such nice people and it was lovely of them to let you vlog your tour and take the time to tell us all about there set up. I'm guessing you learnt a few differences on how things are done compared to back home? Keep up the great vlogs girls I really enjoy their great variety things your showing 👍

My mom used to work for Nestlé a long time ago and they would sell semi trailers loaded with rejected chocolate that they couldn’t sell to farmers to feed their cattle to fatten them up so they can get a higher price at market

Grew up on the farm in Northern IL. Had to worry about heat and humidity at times,.....and then other times it was cold and snow. My ancestors are from Holland. I am 4th generation in USA. 1st and 2nd generations were Carpenters, 3rd generation (my Dad) was in the Army and also a Machinist, I grew up on the farm (my Step-Dad was a Farmer) and then I got into the Nuclear Power Industry. I stand for the Flag, and kneel at the Cross.

That was up in northern Illinois 60 miles west of Chicago

Nothing like one of our southern girls

This is the problem with large dairies .... this girls doesn't milk the cows probably mexicans do, thats the story behind almost EVERY dairy that has more than 250 cows ! Thats a fact ! 85% of america milk is milked by hispanic labor ! The farmers who do it right know EVERY cow and EVERY teat ! And thats the small farmer but we've been run over by large dairies and foreigners coming here and building mega dairies thats destroy thousands of small herds ! We milked for 21 years and the price was lower when we quit than when I first started ! If you can find a small dairy to support do that ! In the 90's the government gave 10 year tax abatements for foreigners to come here and build massive dairies then you couple that with a steady stream of thousands of hispanics pouring over our borders and we have the mess that is dairy farming today .
