you can tell she puts so much effort in to these covers. it always feels like she's trying to put out music that beats the original, and honestly it works nearly every time

I agree she puts in the effort, but eh, for me personally, most of her songs don't ever come close to "beating" the original, they're just a nice little twist on it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy these covers, but I personally find them kinda lacking in comparison to some of my favorite female fronted metal, like Spiritbox or In This Moment. 🤷 That's just my take though.

@@RainPariss I'm glad you're a good sport about it, and sorry if it at all came off offensive lol. I tried getting it in there that I DO still enjoy these covers, I just wouldn't go as far as OP as to say they're "beating" the originals, you know? But to be fair, these covers do still bring something unique/different to the table, which is what I look for in a cover the most, so in that regard they definitely were enjoyable. Looking forward to the Bella Poarch cover. Have a good one!

I love Rain and this song idk why I feel like Cry ft Grimes would have been soooooo amazing for her. This is good, but just Good. Maybe because I love seeing her completely transform a song and this was already super close to what she would normally do naturally or idk maybe a Nightcore Version. Her voice is always killer no matter what she sings

Completely agree with this whole comment, Rain has brought out songs I 100% prefer to the original, especially when she gender swaps the person being sung about('you right' is way better rain's way) Also yes!! She'd do an amazing cover of cry!

I like Rain's cover, but it feels...a bit flat and too...produced almost? Ashnikko's energy is part of what makes her stuff work so well. That same energy would be really hard for anyone to channel. Ashnikko actually had done a collab metal version of one of her own songs with someone else and that video demonstrates what I mean a bit more. Definitely agree that Cry would have been better choice!

@@NoxCattus Exactly. It's not a bad cover by any means! It's definitely a little flat and just something comfortable for her. Right! I saw Ash perform Cry In multiple ways, and with the Metal/Rock band. LOVED it! Granted I think they have similar problems actually. Rain would absolutely KILL a metal, rock version of Cry her voice has so much power and she'd excel in that while showing off the flexibility, range and control of her voice! Ash's Metal version was great, just a little underwhelming because it's was definitely different and out of her range. But her effort, and even attempting it was enough in itself. Music is such art there's no wrong ways to approach it
