I think some actors have gotten the message after the whole snow white blow up and other like blow ups that the "Henry Cavill response" is the best way to go. Say everyone is great and fans are passionate. Ridley did not write the movies and no one would have turned down the role, and would turn down the massive payday she will get for the new movie. It is known she did not make bank for the sequels being a relative unknown. Like a million tops. She is not poor, but that is like nothing compared to Johansson for Marvel movies. (She can make like 70 million for ONE movie) And fans have learned too from the whole Jake Lloyd thing. That poor guy did not deserve the hate he got and he was a kid when in star wars. The fans were WAY more awful 20 years ago then they are now.

I feel bad that she did get an awful script and since there was no real plan for her character other than what KK thought along the way, she really was stuck with nowhere else to go. Rey could be redeemed by a great writer. In FA she was a cute little girl who learned about the Force. I did not assume she was a Mary Sue. The story set up that she was LIKELY suffering from amnesia. I assumed she had been trained by Luke and maybe was even Luke’s daughter. The story also gave off vides of her possibly being Han and Leia’s daughter, or at least descended from Jedi Knights. Hell, she could’ve been trained by Snoke and escaped. Luke could have wiped her mind and guided her to him. Force Awakens was NOT great, but possibilities and mystery boxes were there that led me to believe she was not this ridiculously perfect character. And again, cute little girl/teenager who fell into story. BUT then Last Jedi! WTF? However, even that debacle could have worked if she had joined Ren. That would have saved it to some degree. She joins Ren. Leia dies in an attack (dead in real life, so that would have been fine), Finn dies saving rebellion. Rose and Finn never wander off to do-do planet. Ackbar dies in suicide mission and annoying Holdo takes place of Leia as spoiled princess type and winds up following Poe (even Holdo could have been saved!). Holdo and Poe recruit Luke, and perhaps you find out Luke had a relationship with Holdo because she is really MARA JADE! In fact beginning of film you could learn the reason Luke ran off was because he saw himself becoming too powerful when he took down a star destroyer in the last battle of Rebellion and for first time began to fear his own powers as he felt the deaths of the stormtroopers and imperials on board the ship he crushed. So many better ideas! But we got Last Jedi! Then somehow, Lucasfilm dug deep, and followed up Last Jedi with an objectively worse film. Last Jedi had moments and shots where it could have been brilliant! Luke’s death scene is absolutely beautiful in LJ. It is one of the best shots in all of Star Wars and follows repeating beats of franchise as Lucas likes to say. Luke dies looking at the two suns on horizon. Wow. BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE IN CONTEXT OF STORY! He dies from holoprojecting! He could have been wounded in battle! Just absurd. Leia Poppins: absurd. Then ROS: so the story of Rey is that if you are attacked by a man you are attracted to, but just keep on trying, eventually tolerating criminal domestic violence will pay off and he will fall in love with you. WHAT A GREAT MESSAGE FOR YOUNG WOMEN DISNEY! Sorry too soon. As an OT old guy who saw all originals when released, I was so excited to get my son into franchise. And to be fair Force Awakens and Rogue One had him interested and then off a cliff. Grogu brought him back and then Carano fired. At the end of day, I disagree with online chatter about 1 thing: KK is not most responsible for SW fiasco. The buck stops at the top. BOB IGER IS AN ABSOLUTELY AWFUL CEO! When assessing blame you start at top and move down. He is awful. He destroyed multiple IPs. He pushed this D Plus nonsense despite owning Hulu. Iger is a guy who likely could not run a Walmart, but they have him the keys to the Walt Disney castle. He is the most political of them all. Ultimately, Iger more responsible for rushed trilogy than KK. And why is a director writing the script? Why is Rian Johnson being handed writing duties on a billion dollar IP. Last I checked he was a director and frankly based on some great shots, from what I saw, if he had a great script and someone to reel him in, he could have made one of the best Star Wars movies. Last Jedi, for all its garbage, has only line from sequels. “Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.” Mission accomplished Bob Iger. Past dead and killed by you. Disney in major trouble.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daisy has been coached by Disney. Not Lucasfilm, those women there are mental, but the Sequels are also Bob Iger's legacy, and his ego demands that people accept the Sequels. This Rey movie is Bob Iger's baby. KK doesn't mind doing it, but the initiative for it came from Iger. I wouldn't be surprised if his spin doctors have advised him that rather then make the audience like Rey, which is an impossible task, they should make the audience like Daisy instead. And from there, with a good movie, it is a smaller hurdle to take to make the audience like that then to push the Amazing Wonder Rey, the Bestest Evah!

Daisy Ridley redemption arc? I don't remember anyone having a problem with her. In fact, it seems most fans love or at least like her. The problem is a lot of us don't like Rey. We want the best for the character, but lack hope. Even in the new film it's gonna be hard. Chances are we'll see her doing the things we wamted to see Luke do and that's gonna be rough. It will be hard to get on board with the character still. Even if she is awesome in the movie.
