Daisy deserves a good script; she's great

Daisy was never the issue with Rey. She deserves a better script and I hope this will be it!

I do love how everyone is making a huge deal about generic offhand comments made by her. She has not seen a script, the story is still in revision, and it could all still be dropped. But she makes generic excitement noises and everyone runs with it as if it means something...😂😂😂😂 Just watch her in this...she hems and haws and says nothing...kind of like a politician.

"Fun direction" is pretty ominous sounding from Disney, which created the worst Star Wars movies of all time. That was the first thought I had when I left the theater after watching The Last Jedi. I hope Rey returns and they take it in a fun direction.

I hope Daisy realises that there is an absolutely huge part of the fanbase who adores the trilogy she was in. Its so easy to focus on criticism and hate but so many people have so much love for her trilogy

The cast was never the problem. On the contrary, at the time these talented young artists and the technical teams gave themselves body and soul in respect to the saga of sagas and the work of George Lucas. It is the producers, writers and directors who are the only ones responsible for the messy failure of what has been called "the sequel trilogy". I hope they learned their lessons so as not to repeat the worst missteps in cinema history.

She is coming back to play Rey Skywalker again and I am excited about it.

I hope it’s a good script, but the person to direct this movie should’ve been Bryce Dallas Howard, who really understands Star Wars. Sharlene Obaid -Chinoy is busy gaslighting men, for some reason. If she fails then there is nowhere for the franchise to turn, so it’s important that Dave Filoni has a firm grip on the editing of the script, and maybe the movie as well. Daisy deserves to have a good path forward in the franchise, instead of the waffle they gave her in TLJ and TROS. She needs proper training, so time to hire the big guns and bring back Mace Windu.

Daisy Ridley deserves to play a version of Rey that has a whole original story that is her own, and is NOT A REMAKE of the previous films. Hope the new film takes into account the constructive feedback and ignores the obviously clear trolls that are sexist, racist, or body shaming women.

People make too big a deal about her SW movies. I just rewatched the first two and thoroughly enjoyed them. The third one was a bit of a miss but overall an entertaining trilogy.

Things have fallen so far the best you can hope for is a fun and light enjoyable 2 hour popcorn movie, if it at least does that it could do well with reasonable expectations. At worst it will be a debacle like Dial of Destiny and make less than Solo a Star Wars story.

I'm worried for this girl. Stepping back into the toxic star wars fanbase and all the shit she will get no matter what the film is like.

Why would she put herself through this again? Move on to new projects and make people forget about those movies! There's no way a new Star Wars movie with her is going to work, I don't think any new Star Wars movie can work these days as long as Disney is involved.

I worshipped her in the first movie but yeah definitely the Rian Johnson one was just a mess and JJ just couldn’t correct it enough in the third movie. None of it was her fault.

I think there is severely wasted potential in the exploration of a Palpatine rising above their name and moving past the legacy of Palpatine.

Keep JJ Abrams far away...far far away...Daisy was great as was all the other actors.

Moral of this story, if your an actor stay away for Disney, be humble and leave politics out!

If you're someone who doesn't like Rey and doesn't want the Rey film, then do us all a favour and stay well clear of it. People should be going into this film (or any film for that matter) with an open mind and no pre conceived notions, regardless of whether Disney deserve that of us or not. But we have an opportunity to see Rey appear in a well written film, where her character is fleshed out by danced and intelligent writing. Daisy is an incredible actress and it will be exciting to see her come back!

Hopefully her character gets a proper arc and has some failures and struggles to over come. Perhaps she isn't a good master or teacher. I would like to see her try and set up a new Jedi academy to mess it up and end up full darkside.

These folks who keep saying Disney can't do good scripts are completely delusional... wake up. There's a lot of great stuff they did...

I liked her but the handling of most of the sequel trilogy was chaos and really off. Like, I didn't mind if Finn, initially, was thought to not be something but I think he should have been the surprise twist to have force abilities. Meanwhile, they should have played up that even that cave couldn't read her and that making her a much bigger mystery. Also, if they had to go with Palpatine... They needed to provide a proper reason. Not to mention, they have to stop trying to get people to be all in on every piece of Star Wars media, to be able to read between the lines.

Daisy seems nice, good actress. I have little to no confidence in the coming movie being good. Lucasfilm HAS NOT learned. They cast an activist director whose only work so far has been documentaries and who says on a panel proudly "I enjoy making men uncomfortable". Yeah, they're for sure taking this seriously. It's a good thing there's other things to enjoy.

I love Daisy. Really hope she gets better roles in the future, but unfortunately the sequel trilogy is terrible and hated by most SW fans. Same with Rey. I really don't see any scenario where a spin-off Rey film is successful and fully accepted by SW fans.

Unlike most people in the comments section here (well, isn't that the same with almost any other video?), I also have nothing personal against the actors as their job is literally to act, but it's not unusual for some actors to go beyond their position in order to help with (or at least) making the stories look better than what the writers originally came up with. This wasn't the case with Ridley, obviously. Any sane person knows that the so-called "sequels" are as bad as most of the other SW crap that Disney produced. If Daisy Ridley is smart about this, especially after the horrendous ST, then she won't play her character again, unless Disney retcon themselves, and she won't help Disney cause another disaster. So, again, nothing personal against her or other actors, but if she chooses to go on the same path as Disney dictates and regardless of potential negative pre-production feedback, then I see no reason why not to blame her the same as the writers, and this applies to any other actor, writer, producer, director, shareholder and doesn't matter if it's a movie or a series. Disney already made her character stupid by destroying everything George Lucas created. The fact that they decided to make her "Rey Skywalker", is just unforgivable.

She's basically getting what should have been Luke's story - rebuilding the Jedi Order. I don't blame her for the sequels, I largely blame Abrams and his lack of imagination but if I was her, I'd have turned down the offer to return. Not because she's bad or anything but because she represents a part of Star Wars that a lot of people want to move on from and forget even happened. I used to think Star Wars movies would always be sure-fire hits but I can see this movie bombing and not just because half of the audience hates the sequels. I think even a lot people who like the sequels want to move away from this time period and focus on something else, like KOTOR or even a jump into the distant future.

Like Daisey in other movies that have seen her in since Star Wars Sequel trilogy and she is a good actress. BUT her returning as a non-favourite again as Mary-Sue Rey Palpatine for Episode X will not fly or reach new audiences let alone old audiences to make it a smash hit! Killary Kennedy needs to be ousted from Lucasfilm as does Bob Iger from Disney. Start all over again from scratch which isnt likely.
