Instead of using tape on your spool tie whatever slip knot you use uni knowlt whatever then half hitch the spool from the top and again from the bottom so another two half hitches over the spool. Works a treat and no need to have sticky residue on your spool.
I don't need another reel but I would give it to my nephew who has been getting into fishing and coming along as a fine angler for a young kid, he has the ability to work out what works and what doesn't on a particular day. Good video as always.
Love Daiwa LT. I bought the Legalis LT 2500. Use it in one outing. Come back the next day to the shop. Buy the legalis 3000. Cos my wife end up liking my legalis 2500. Now the two of us are using Daiwa LT. She love it to. I'm happy if i catch any fish. On your reel. Cos must of the time I'm only getting a big 🍩. Nice video always helping me out on the tips and tricks. love watching you 😁
@@ByronTeaHill no worries mate. Love ya work and I'm mad about fishing. Yep I was shocked when I realised it was 11years old. I bought it when my middle daughter was born. Haha. Keen on supporting the channel mate. Keep up the great work.
Thanks mate for the opportunity to win this reel , I'd put it on one of my infeet's for bream and bass. Looking forward to meeting you at Forster this Weekend.👍
Great video Byron. Would love to catch some big Tassie Bream on the new Freams, coming up to winter they’ll start schooling and going up river which will be awesome fun. 🔥👍
Great video on the 2021 Daiwa Freams LT, I like the way you mentioned how well it pairs up with different rods in terms of balance and even price point. For me I would be using this reel to chase Swan River Tailors given the size of the reel and it's smoothness and corrosiveness properties as I will be flicking hardbodies all day long. It would be a reel that I think I would be using for many years, and for those fishers who would buy one, I think they would be keeping this reel for a while. The reel looks great and fishes well too.
Already sorted for a bream set up, this would go towards my Croc hunter setup, chasing fatties on the kayak should test the corrosion resistant properties of this bad boy! Cheers for the great content and the opportunity!
Hey Byron, 2 things; 1) How would this compare to the shimano miravel for finesse fishing? 2) how would the freams pair with the base 20 infeet rods ($189)
As much as I’d like to have the reel for myself I think it’s only right to give it to the better half. She hasn’t been out for just over a year after having our first child. I’d say she would be itching to go and score a few bream thought
I like my flathead so I’d use the Daiwa Freams to grab a few crocs with the Daiwa double clutch or the Daiwa spike lures which are awesome. Daiwa lures are by far my favourite lures.
i would love to chase big whiting and flathead at my local Bribie Island, throw on the new 8lb tasline once it releases, havnt had much luck - hopefully a new reel will entise the fish! thanks for the opportunity to win, tight lines everyone 👍
Your channel has got me back into fishing and I'm also introducing my daughter to it as well. The possibility of catching quality fish on lures and soft plastics while extracting my daughters phone from her hands is quite exciting. I've also just bought a Pajero Sport and will be hitting Fraser, Moreton, Straddie in the next few years and hopefully catching a heap of fish. Thanks for a quality channel with great production and instruction.
That is awesome to hear Gary! good vehicle that one. I hope your daughter loves the sport - it's a bloody great pass time! appreciate your comment mate. thank you
Great vid byron. Kept me well entertained for a Monday smoko! Really enjoy your channel, so much detail and thought goes into them which shows. I'd use the new reel for whiting/bream targets. And give my older 1 to my mate who's got the fishing bug too. Hopefully the channel continues to build and go bigger. 🤙
would for sure be chasing nice flat head and bream in the swan, in need for a 2500 for the light gear setup so 🤞🤞, anyway great vid man and btw your rlly good at stucturing ur videos and doing really good and legit reviews on the products, keep doing what ur doing👍👍
Love your channel and love the Daiwa products but only have the lower end stuff at present. Would use the Freams to catch flathead and Bream as my fishing is all land based. Keep the great content coming.
Another great review ,looking forward to your next one .If I won the reel it would work well catching some local bream and squid in my local waterholes
Just picked up a Daiwa rod so this would be perfect as for the fish I'd be after Bonnie's as they are around at the moment. And as always sick video bud.
That's some sick footage Byron and a great vid. The freams would go hard on the bream and flatties, especially with that longer spool height to get maximal casting distance
What a great looking reel, Daiwa is really stepping up the game at the enthusiast level. I would love to break my PB bream record and go beyond 40 cm with this
Those were some nice Bream! I would probably use it to chase some flathead. Would love to see a more in depth vid about your line spooling methods and choices. Keep up the great work!
Few north Gippsland/far south coast bream and flat skulls, squid, small Jews, salmon, tailor, just about anything that swims in the estuaries. Great video as always Byron keep it up!
Awesome vid as usual bud! Been eyeing this lovely reel off since i got the new Daiwa bible, been planning on hitting my girls up on my birthday for one to chase that elusive meter flatty.
What a reel and that 1.6 can’t wait to see the story on it! Awesome vid again. If I won this it would be put to the test against Gold Coast winter bream!
Love the overview of the Freams, been saving up for a new spin reel and this freams would be such an honour to win! I fish mainly on the mid north coast of Sydney, I'd make it my permanent estuary reel targeting big bream and flathead dinner, id love to fight some rat kings on it too!
Great review Byron! The Freams looks like a very capable reel at its price point to tackle bream, flathead and all the other estuary species in between.
Nice reel, would definitely pair it up with my td zero rod😝, target breams and flatties using tt nedlocks and 2.5" daiwa grubs - my fail proof soft bait as their designed with grooves to hold on to scent longer. I like your vids as they are informative and fun to watch!!!😀
I’ve been waiting to upgrade my 2500 ci4+ and this looks like exactly what I’ve been waiting for. After snapping the tip off my 1-3kg rod maybe a infeet + freams combo will be great replacements. The 10kg of drag will definitely come in handy when one or the big sea run brown trouts takes the lure.
i would really love to get onto some really nice bream with this reel as it would replace my old legalis lt 2500. but most likely would use it most of the time for trout and reddies. my last trip on the bream was pretty hard on the old legalis fishing racks for big bream out of the kyak now shes pretty much cooked haha. this would be a sick reel to replace that... keep up the great work byron mate... yeeeww
Another great review , I would definitely use it for my flathead outfit, been using Sedona for a few years now with no worries, keen to try daiwa reels,
Great video Byron, I would love to use this reel for flathead, bream and anything really, I would love to test the reel, paired with my Abu Garcia Veritas, on some larger fish such as kingfish and other big species 🤙
Again nice vid Byron, and I agree with the spool comparison, I also get longer and more accurate casts in with the Daiwa range of reels. I mainly fish for bream all year round and would love to compare the Freams to the Caldia's that I have been using for a while now. :)
Hey Byron, Another informative review and I thought the "Daiwa" video was excellent. IMHO, the Freams model has always represented very good value for money. In this reel size, it would be combined into a lovely light spinning outfit when chasing those traditional estuary species (bream, flathead, pinkies etc.) particularly when matched with PE 0.6 or 0.8 braid.
Great review as always! The Freams would be perfect for Long casts over the flats for skittish whiting using unweighted soft plastics .... and then to hear the drag singing !!
Love my Daiwa gear. My Crossfire 200 reel with RZ 662 rod has caught me yellow belly, redfin, Murray cod in the freshwater and flathead, bream and even a 95cm jewie on my hobie in the Saltwater. Would love the new 2500 Daiwa fream to add to my reportoire 🙏
Would love to use this reel to flick plastics and hard bodies in Sydney harbour. Bream, flatties and Trevs would be the main fish but would also use it to give a go at Aust salmons and kings. Interested to compare this reel against Fuego and new Caldia.
The T handle on a 2500 appeals to me as my hand has slipped off the small knobs of other models at times. I’d used this for trout as well as bream. Cheers.
In the last 12mnths I have started In a Bream tournament so would definitely put it to good use chasing them, it would pair nicely with my Infeet which I love. Always loving the content, especially the giveaways who doesn’t love a giveaway😀 will we be seeing some fishing videos in the near future?
Great vid and what a bream... I would like to catch a jack on one and test out that 10kg drag. I bought an aird LT from Dawia and I was extremely impressed with it. Especially since it's a sub $100 reel.
Some interesting points you made on the spool depth & height, will definitely keep that in mind. Another good review Byron and food for thought in that price range. I'd probably put some 10lb braid on it and chase some King George Whiting on SPs in the local bays.
I have the model before this one and its my go to reel for light tackle fishing. I'd be using it to chase the very hard to get Bream in Corio Bay and best bit of winning it would be id have some spare coin for a new Infeet rod that i really want. Monster Bream Byron what a catch!
I will use the freams to catch silver trevally, black bream, sand whiting, tailor, tarwhine, bartail and blue spot flathead, herring, snook, squid, cuttlefish and mulloway.
