Haunting in reality. Music transcends so many emotions that can embed those universal feelings for generations to come as it's rediscovered time and time again. Sometimes like wine aging to even better quality then when the creator / grower were the performer / producer. To hear this from A group I already adore for the breath of fresh air in originality and ability to harmonize in different modes, is raw from the source and extremely moving. I will see theme at some point hopefully with sister collective Dakh Daughters. 1 love

Odd to hear a folk group doing what amounts to acoustic hip-hop. But if you REALLY want to get the words across, rapping is the way to do it. And I suspect that if I understood Ukrainian, the guy's mumbled, exhausted voice - like a soldier who's been fighting for weeks without sleep - would say a whole lot to me. As would those air-raid sirens of backing vocals.
