Ingredients:
1 cups leftover dal (any type)
1 cups whole wheat flour (adjust as needed)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1tablesppon curry leaves
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Ghee or oil for cooking
Instructions:
1. *Prepare the Dough:*
- In a large mixing bowl, add the leftover dal.
- Add the finely chopped onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the whole wheat flour to the mixture, kneading it into a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour as needed.
2. *Rest the Dough:*
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
3. *Roll the Parathas:*
- Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls.
- On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a flat, round paratha. You can roll them thick or thin according to your preference.
4. *Cook the Parathas:*
- Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.
- Place a rolled paratha on the hot tawa. Cook until bubbles start to appear, then flip.
- Apply a small amount of ghee or oil on the top side and cook until golden brown spots appear.
- Flip again and apply ghee or oil on the other side, cooking until both sides are golden and crisp.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
5. *Serve:*
- Serve the dal parathas hot with yogurt, pickle, or any chutney of your choice.
