Dalian Pugh, is a co-founder of the North East Forest Alliance NEFA (1989), and was awarded an Order of Australia in 2003 for his work protecting forests. Koalas have been a particular focus over the past decade. He considers that in the midst of our climate and extinction crises it is urgent to stop logging of all public native forests. Dailan was raised in bushland where his family cared for orphaned native animals. He became involved in the campaign to protect north-east NSW’s rainforests in the late 1970s, and has since devoted most of his life to protecting forests.
