How does one recreate one of music's greatest tragedies? Like so many stars, the Dalida we knew only existed on stage. Dalida was frightened of the dark and always slept with the lights on...which makes the ending so heartbreakingly beautiful.

La vie m'est insupportable, pardonnez-moi, les derniers mots de Dalida. Le suicide est un acte épouvantable, il emporte tout avec lui, il laisse la famille et les amis dans le désespoir total. Mais je peux comprendre ces mots "la vie m'est insupportable" Moi-même je ressens cela pour diverses raisons, cette phrase quand elle est vraiment comprise dans sa profondeur, alors elle démontre le caractère invivable qu'est devenu la vie. C'est pas une question de courage, c'est une question que des fois assez c'est assez. Pourtant cette vie est une chance, même si souvent c'est un combat, demain est source de changements, il faut jamais baisser les bras, on est jamais à l'abri d'un triomphe.... Dalida tu es éternelle ✨💫💙

Incredible performance of a tortured Diva! This movie was incredible. This 2005 biopic and the 2017 film of Dalida are both so good. I'm curious to who you thought played her better in the two films?

I think both movies are good, but for different reasons. In the 2017 movie, Sveva Alviti plays Dalida so well, and she is just so true that you can only be moved. But the movie by itself isn't that nice I think. It's badly cut, and you never really manage to understand Dalida's thoughts and psychology. This is not the case for the 2005 tv show: Joyce Buñuel really worked a lot on the evolution of Dalida's character throughout her life and tragedies and you can really feel the movie getting progressively darker and depressing when you watch it. Sabrina Ferilli also plays Dalida very well and even though she doesn't look like Dalida as much as Sveva, sometimes you really get to see Dalida when you look at her. On the other hand, since it's only a tv-show and not a movie for the cinemas, it sometimes look a bit cheap when it comes to the costumes and the sets.
